Aiming at hiding information in 2D engineering graphics based on geometric features, a steganalysis method is proposed in this paper. First, the authors obtained the number of 2D engineering graphics’ strictly vertical and horizontal lines and identify the number of horizontal and vertical lines which are deviated from the straight line within a certain range. Subsequently, the authors selected the ratio between the deviated lines and the normal lines as the statistical characteristics. Finally, a detection model was constructed based on the hypothesis. Experimental results show that the algorithm can detect hidden information in the 2D engineering graphics effectively.

In this paper, we propose a new discrimination method using image statistical characteristics is proposed which is designed to distinguish natural images from photorealistic computer graphics. Using Benford model as statistical basis, we conclude statistical properties of the MSD (most significant digit) of AC (Alternating Current) coefficients in DCT (Discrete Cosine Transform) domain of natural images and computer graphics, and then we constructed the detection model of the proposed algorithm. Experimental results show that this method can identify natural images and computer graphics effectively, compared with the existing algorithms this method has a higher recognition rate, which comes to 95.22%.

An aircraft cable fault location method based on detection model is proposed to solve the problem of being difficult to inspect the fault for the civil aviation maintenance. In response to the condition of the experimental installation, the reference signal is designed. The fault of the cable can be located according to the reflected waveform. An aircraft cable fault location system is designed and the experimental results show that the method is rational and effective.

A novel and efficient method for correction of slant angles in handwritten numeral strings is proposed. For the first time, the statistical distribution of slant angles in handwritten numerals is investigated and the effects of slant correction on the segmentation of handwritten numeral strings are shown. In our proposed slant correction method, utilizing geometric features, a Component Slant Angle (CSA) is estimated for each connected component independently. A weighted average is then used to compute the String Slant Angle (SSA), which is applied uniformly to correct the slant of all the components in numeral strings. Our experimental results have revealed novel statistics for slant angles of handwritten numeral strings, and also showed that slant correction can significantly improve extraction of segmentation features and segmentation accuracy of touching numerals. Comparison between our slant correction algorithm and similar algorithms in the literature show that our algorithm is more efficient, and on average it has a faster running time.

Linguistic steganalysis is a technique that discovering potentially hidden information embedded through using linguistically in plain text using. Varieties of syntax and multi-meanings of semantics for linguistics augment the difficulty of linguistic steganalysis intensely, thereby it is a challenge area. In this paper, we propose a novel steganalysis method for linguistics based on immune. This method has two attributions: i). basis statistical features of text are employed for blind steganalysis ii). immune technique is chosen to build a two-level detection mechanism to detect two categories of stego text respectively, one of which is Success-Stego-text and another is False-Stego-text. Appropriate detections are generated and preferable features are signed. Experiments prove the approach has higher accuracy than current steganalysis algorithms. Especially when the segment size of text is greater than 3kB, the accuracies of detecting for natural text and stego text are both more than 95%.

The technique developed in this laboratory for measuring gas densities has been made still more sensitive by using a 50-litre volume. The experimental results obtained showed that the apparent molecular weight-pressure isothermal for sulphur dioxide is not a straight line. This is in agreement with the equation of state for gases at low pressures, the study of which has been the main object of this investigation. From the data on sulphur dioxide its true molecular weight was found to be 64.075.

Considering the statistical characteristics of contourlet coefficients of images, we propose an image fusion method based on the universal contourlet hidden Markov tree (uHMT) model. A salience measure and a match measure are presented according to the probability of a contourlet coefficient belonging to the high state of the uHMT model which needs no training. Experimental results prove the effectiveness of our method in the field of visual quality and objective evaluations.

Abstract The study presents two approaches to plotting an S-N curve based on the experimental results. The first approach is commonly used by researchers and presented in detail in many studies and standard documents. The model uses a linear regression whose parameters are estimated by using the least squares method. A staircase method is used for an unlimited fatigue life criterion. The second model combines the S-N curve defined as a straight line and the record of random occurrence of the fatigue limit. A maximum likelihood method is used to estimate the S-N curve parameters. Fatigue data for C45+C steel obtained in the torsional bending test were used to compare the estimated S-N curves. For pseudo-random numbers generated by using the Mersenne Twister algorithm, the estimated S-N curve for 10 experimental results plotted by using the second model, estimates the fatigue life in the scatter band of the factor 3. The result gives good approximation, especially regarding the time required to plot the S-N curve.

In this paper, multiple blind watermark algorithm based on wavelet packet transform (WPT) and two-dimensional chaos image scramble is put forward. In the sub-images of WPT, multiple watermarks are embedded and distilled blindly. Meantime, the image contrast enhancement to hidden information before hand can improve its robustness effectively. In order to improve the security, two-dimensional chaos image scramble algorithm is designed. Experimental results show that the multiple blind watermark algorithm has good invisibleness, security and robustness to common image processing and noise attack.
