In this paper, the splitting tensile strength experiments of recycled sintered brick-tile concrete with different water-cement ratio, sand rate and water quantity were carried out, and the change law of splitting tensile strength with above three factors was acquired and failure patterns of the samples were analyzed. The results showed that the effects of sand rate and water quantity were not clear, while water-cement ratio was relatively significant and the splitting tensile strength was inversely proportional relationship with it. And the relation between the splitting tensile strength and the cubic compressive strength was summarized from the results.

Influence of replacement ratio and water-cement ratio on the recycled concrete mechanical properties were analyzed by testing the compressive strength and tensile strength of the recycled concrete. Results show that the mechanical properties of recycled concrete, compared with common concrete, can meet the requirements of the project. Water-cement ratio has great influence on compressive strength and tensile strength, replacement ratio has obvious influence on compressive strength but little on tensile.

This investigation aimed to study the effect of nano metakaolin ( NMK ) on some properties (compressive strength ,splitting tensile strength & water absorption ) of concrete. The nano metakaolin (NMK) was prepared by thermal activation of kaolin clay for 2 hours at 750 Ċ. The cement used in this investigation consists of ordinary Portland cement (OPC). The OPC was partially substituted by NMK of ( 3, 5 & 10%) by weight of cement. The C45 concrete was prepared , using water/cement ratio ( W/c) of (0.53) .The Water absorption was tested at 28 days while the tests (compressive strength ,splitting tensile strength) were tested at ages of (7, 28, 60,& 90) days . The compressive strength and splitting tensile strength of concrete with NMK were higher than that of reference concrete with the same W/c ratio. The improvement in the compressive strength when using NMK was (42.2, 55.8 , 63.1% ) at age 28 days for ( 3%, 5%, &10% ) replacement of NMK respectively whereas the improvement in the splitting tensile strength was (0% , 36% & 46.8 %) at age of 28 days when using (3%, 5%, &10% ) NMK respectively. The improvement in the water absorption was (16.6%, 21.79%, &25.6 ) when using (3, 5, &10% )NMK.

This paper describes the experimental investigation to develop the concrete mix design Nomograph for concrete containing PET as fine aggregate. The physical and mechanical properties were determined by using mix proportion containing 25%, 50% and 75% of PET with water cement ratio (w/c) 0.45, 0.55 and 0.65. The data obtained showed that the inclusion of PET aggregate reduce the strength performances of concrete. All the data obtained were combined into one single graph to develop a preliminary mix design nomograph for PET concrete. The nomograph consist of ; relationship between compressive strength and water cement ratio; relationship between splitting tensile strength water cement ratio; relationship between splitting tensile strength and PET percentage and relationship between compressive strength and PET percentage. The mix design nomograph can be used to assists in selecting the proper mix proportion parameters based on the criteria required.

The recycled concrete was prepared by using the high-strength artificial aggregates. This kind of concrete can be completely regenerated to be cement, and the recycling utilization of the concrete can also be truly realized. The frost resistance and influencing factors of the recycled concrete were studied. The results show that the mechanical performance and frost resistance of artificial aggregates recycled concrete are better than those of the ordinary concrete under the same water/cement ratio condition. When the water/cement ratio is 0.40, the relative dynamic elastic modulus, weight loss and frost durability factor of the recycled concrete are 98.7%, 0.5% and 65.8 after 200 times freeze-thaw cycles. When the fly ash and silica fume were added into the recycled concrete, the frost resistance can be improved. The optimal amounts of fly ash and silica fume are 30% and 15% of cement by weight, respectively. The recycled concrete was prepared with the optimal fly ash and silica fume content, respectively. After 200 times freeze-thaw cycles, the relative dynamic elastic modulus of the recycled concrete are 99.1% and 99.2%, and the weight losses of the recycled concrete are 0.4% and 0.3%, and antifreeze durability coefficient of the recycled concrete are 66.07 and 66.13. Therefore, the recycled concrete with silica fume has better frost resistance performance than that with fly ash as admixture.

Concrete is highly utilized construction material around the globe and responsible for high depreciation of the raw materials. Consumption of this material in construction industry is arching upward day by day. On the other hand, debris of demolished concrete structures are being dumped as waste. For developing countries such waste is not a good sign and need its proper utilization by recycling it into useful product. In this consequence, this study is an attempt to utilize demolished waste concrete by converting into coarse aggregates. This research was conducted on recycled cement concrete aggregates of demolished structures and Rice Husk Ash (RHA). The purpose of this experimental study is to analyze the mechanical properties of concrete; when cement is partially replaced with RHA and natural aggregates by recycled aggregates (RA). In this study, the cement was replaced by RHA up to 10% by weight of cement. For experimental purpose, total 135 concrete specimens were prepared, cured and tested in Universal Testing Machine (UTM). Finally, laboratory results were compared in terms of compressive and splitting tensile strength made with normal and recycled coarse aggregates. All the specimens were prepared at 1:1.5:3 with 0.50 w/c ratio and tested at 7, 14, 21, 28 and 56 days curing ages. It is observed from experimental analysis that the workability of fresh normal concrete is 7% and 10% greater than recycled aggregates concrete blended with 10% RHA and only recycled aggregates concrete without RHA respectively. The compressive strength increases up to 6%, whilst splitting tensile strength increases 4% at 56 days curing, when the cement is replaced 10% by RHA. It is, further, concluded that with more than 10% RHA replacement with cement, the compressive strength decreases. This study would help the construction experts to use such wasted concrete into useable production of new concrete projects.

A designed experimental study has been conducted to investigate the effect of clay dosage on mechanical properties of plastic concrete. The mechanical properties include compressive strength, splitting tensile strength, shear strength and elastic modulus. On the basis of the experimental results of the specimens of eight sets of mix proportions, the mechanism of action of clay on these mechanical properties has been analyzed in details. The results indicate that there is a tendency of decrease in the compressive strength, splitting tensile strength, shear strength and elastic modulus of plastic concrete with the increase of clay dosage. However, the internal friction angle of the shear specimens is increasing gradually with the increase of clay dosage. Further, the clay appears can improve the ductility of plastic concrete and this can help plastic concrete to bear larger deformation before failure.

Based on the test of 108 blocks with 150mm×150mm×300mm, 54 blocks with 150mm×150mm×150mm, elastic modulus of that of combined aggregate concrete is studied, and the influencing factors on it are discussed. The results show that the elastic modulus of combined aggregate concrete are very much affected by the ratio of common aggregate to lightweight aggregate, and it increases with the water-cement ratio decreasing. The calculation equation of combined concrete modulus is suggested.

Through the ordinary Portland concrete mixed with slag powder and its experimental research, studies and analyzes the impact on the concrete splitting tensile strength of different age, slag powder content and the water-cement ratio. The test results show that the increase of slag powder content makes splitting tensile strength of concrete reduce after the first increase; growth age makes splitting tensile strength of concrete increases; increasing water-cement ratio makes the splitting tensile strength of concrete intensity decreases.
