With the information system greatly influencing on the city, the traditional urban design method has appeared some negatives so that the practice needs to rethink conventional approaches to new urban design and management challenges. This paper discusses the ‘before and after’ and several key elements for the future development of the urban design based GIS-technology. The research work outlines how various softwares might form a tool kit to aid its process. Finally, the result concludes with speculations on the future of GIS for urban design.

In the recent five years, City parks have been developing rapidly in urban cities in Indonesia. Built in 2007, Taman Gajah Tunggal is one of the city parks located in Tangerang. This park is situated at The Center of Tangerang City on the edge of Cisadane River. Like many public spaces in Indonesia, this park has littering issues by visitors’ lack of care. This re- search is offered to develop social marketing by using a digital game for gaining awareness of Taman Gajah Tunggal’s visitors age 17-30 years old about littering issues. This paper focused on developing the prototyping process in iteration design method by using a digital game to suggest possibilities design for future development interactive installation design in public space which can bring a new experience.

The COVID-19 pandemic is a global challenge, and the key to tackling it is vaccinating a specified percentage of the population to acquire herd immunity. The observed problems with the efficiency of the vaccination campaigns in numerous countries around the world, as well as the approach used at the initial stage of the National Immunization Program in Poland, prompted us to analyse the possibility of using GIS technology to optimize the distribution of vaccines to vaccination sites so as to minimize the period needed to vaccinate individual population groups. The research work was carried out on the example of Warsaw, the capital of Poland and the city with the largest population in the country. The analyses were carried out for the 60–70 and 50–60 age groups, in various approaches and for vaccines of different companies (Moderna, BioNTech, AstraZeneca), used to vaccinate people in Poland. The proposed approach to optimize vaccine distribution uses Thiessen’s tessellation to obtain information on the number of people in a given population group living in the area of each vaccination site, and then to estimate the time needed to vaccinate that group. Compared to the originally used vaccination scenario with limited availability of vaccines, the proposed approach allows practitioners to design fast and efficient distribution scenarios. With the developed methodology, we demonstrated ways to achieve uniform vaccination coverage throughout the city. We anticipate that the proposed approach can be easily automated and broadly applied to various urban settings.

Like in many other provinces, during the Habsburg period, the main point of orientation for Galicia was Vienna. This also applies to architecture and urban development. Galicia’s technical elite applied the theoretical and practical experience it gathered in Vienna to the towns and cities of this northeastern Crown land. Ignacy Drexler, born in 1878 in the Austro-Hungarian Lemberg, was a representative of a new generation of engineers and architects who did not necessarily have to spend time in the imperial capital to earn their spurs. Increasingly, besides the more or less obligatory stay in Vienna, other European countries became points of reference. Drexler did not live to see the realization of important aspects of his comprehensive plan for the city, but his ideas and the data he compiled were indispensable for the future development of his hometown. They shape urban planning in Lviv to this day.

Geographyc Information System (GIS) is an information system that is applied to store, recall, enter, analyze, process, and produce data in the form of geographic data, used for decision making in support of a system development plan. The problem of finding information to find out the location of various places in an area with the help of smart phones. The use of smart phones in a growing community, then the idea arose to create an application called Find Your Futsal, which is an application about futsal field information based on the Geographyc Information System in the Tangerang area. Futsal has many benefits for the surrounding community. They can use the futsal field to support various futsal activities. The design method of this GIS application research application uses the SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) research method. Started designing the displays in the application, designing the database used in making the application. Next start the application by coding with a predetermined programming language using the Android Studio application. Furthermore, it is compiled and implemented on Android-based mobile devices. The application of the results of this study is a geographic information system application futsal field in the city of Tangerang that is simple and easy to use. As well as GPS and maps as features in it.

The waterfront development in China faces the problems of landscape, ecology and sustainability. According to the research of the waterfront park in the North Bund of Shanghai, this paper discusses the main issues from the view of urban design and gives possible countermeasures for the future design. In order to make full use of the environmental resources, we should build a connection between the waterfront and the inside city, and provide more opportunities for individuals to keep closing to water.

Abstract Wearable electronics are an essential direction for the future development of smart wearables. Among them, the battery life of wearable electronics is a key technology that limits their development. The proposal of self-powered wearable electronics (SWE) provides a promising solution to the problem of long-term stable working of wearable electronics. This review has made a comprehensive summary and analysis of recent advances on SWE from the perspectives of energy, materials, and ergonomics methods. At the same time, some representative research work was introduced in detail. SWE can be divided into energy type SWE and sensor type SWE according to their working types. Both types of SWE are broadly applied in human–machine interaction, motion information monitoring, diagnostics, and therapy systems. Finally, this article summarizes the existing bottlenecks of SWE, and predicts the future development direction of SWE.

Geographic Information System (GIS) is a system that captures, stores, manipulates, analyzes, manages, and presents spatial or geographical data. As this technological environment has been created to deal with space problems, it is perfectly adaptable to solve these type of issues in the context of vertebrate comparative morphology. The pectoral and pelvic girdles are key structures that relate the axial skeleton with the limbs in tetrapods. Owed to their importance in locomotion, the morphology, development, and morphogenesis of these structures have been widely studied. The complexity of the structures and tissues implied in the development of the girdles make quantitative approaches extremely difficult. The use of GIS technology provides a visual interpretation of the histological data, a general quantitative assessment of the processes taking place during the ontogeny of any structure, and would allow collecting information about the changes in the surface occupied by the different tissues across the ontogenetic processes of any vertebrate taxa. GIS technology applied to map morphological structures would be a main contribution to the construction of the vertebrate ontologies, as it would facilitate the identification and location of the structures. GIS technology would allow also us to construct a shared database of histological quantitative changes across the ontogeny in any vertebrate. The main objective of this study is to use GIS technology for spatial analysis of histological samples such as these of the pelvic girdle using histological cuts of anurans and chicken, allowing thus to construct a morphoscape, analogous to a landscape. This is the first attempt to apply GIS tools to ontogenetic series to infer biological properties of the spatial analysis in the context of comparative biology. More frequent use of this technology would contribute to obtaining more profitable and biologically informative results.

GEOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION SYSTEM APPLIED IN THE FIRE RECORDS OF THE CITY OF BELÉM, STATE OF PARÁSISTEMA DE INFORMACIÓN GEOGRÁFICA APLICADO EN LOS REGISTROS DE INCENDIOS DE LA CIUDAD DE BELÉM, ESTADO DEL PARÁO Corpo de Bombeiros do Estado do Pará possui um banco de dados de suas atividades denominado Sistema de Cadastro de Ocorrências de Bombeiros, no entanto, essas informações são utilizadas apenas nas elaborações planilhas, gráficos, tabelas e relatórios. Este estudo objetiva aplicar um Sistema de Informação Geográfica para análise espacial das ocorrências de incêndios na cidade de Belém. Fez-se o levantamento, tratamento, tabulação e geocodificação dos dados de ocorrências de incêndios urbanos, localização dos hidrantes e Grupamento de Bombeiros Militar. Foram identificados 96 hidrantes na área de estudo de um total de 80 relacionados pela companhia de água. Com os resultados identificaram-se oito zonas de densidade de incêndio que necessitam de atenção preventiva do Corpo de Bombeiros. A zona 1 teve a maior extensão territorial (1,35 km²) e a zona 8 a menor (29.671,26 m²). With the results, we identified eight fire density zones that require preventive attention from the Fire Department. Zone 1 had the largest territorial extension (1.35 km²) and the 8th lowest zone (29,671.26 m²). Gender mainstreaming generated a wide diversity of innovative measures and interventions in new areas not explored until the moment. This is the case of mobility policies, linked to the sustainable urban design and the measures for the environment’s improvement. The literature review and the analysis of the cities’ experiences, allow us to establish some criteria to audit the level of inclusivity of transport infrastructures. In the case of cycling infrastructures, the following criteria have to be taken into account: security, ensuring road safety elements and adequate lighting; conciliation, connecting areas of the city linked to child care, elderly care, daily shopping and personal dealings, through Geographic Information System (GIS) analysis; apply an inclusive and participatory approach, from the comprehension that there is a diverse citizenship with multiple needs and that these have to be taken into account during the design of these policies; and the visibility of cyclist women, as a tool of empowerment and promotion of the use of the bicycle..
