Most measurement and control systems of combines use digital tubes or LCD as their monitor, which has some problems like low brightness, poor functional expansion and over-occupy port resources. In this paper, a signal acquisition and failure alarm system of combine harvester is designed, based on touch screen technology. The system uses MCU as the main control unit to receive forward speed signal and rotational speed signals of threshing cylinder, transport grain auger and conveyor pan. It handles the signal data, makes judgments, and sends the signal data to the touch screen through serial communication. Some functions like parameters display, parameters setting and faults alarm are set in the touch screen. The system is applied to Taihu Star TH988 combine harvester and had rice harvest tests. The results show that it has good human-computer interaction and improves stability and accuracy, hardware structure and electrical design simplified.

Harvesting speed is a key factor that influences working quality, utilization and harvest efficiency of the working process of grain combine harvester. In order to solve multi-objective control and poor anti-interference ability of measurement system in combine harvester, this paper uses optimization theory and error analysis theory to integrate analyze multi-source disturbance of data which is acquired in measurement and control system. The optimum working state control algorithm which proposes by this paper has better robust and anti-interference features, and what is more, it can be targeted by low yield loss, high productivity and low power cost. It provides theoretical basis and data support for the domestic agricultural harvesting machine, which also is an effective means to heighten the automatic level of the agricultural information technology. In 1939, Community Chests and Councils, Inc., published a pamphlet in its series on community planning, “giving tested procedures for determining the extent of social breakdown in the community, and outlining a detailed plan for better co-ordinated service to social breakdown families.” Because of the significance of the procedure and plan to social case work and requests from our readers for some discussion of it, the Editorial Advisory Committee of The Family planned a symposium from the point of view of case work, community organization, research, sociology, and psychiatry. Bradley Buell, of Community Chests and Councils, was invited to discuss the background of the plan. We shall be glad to receive other brief discussions for the Readers' Forum.

Based on open NC system architecture, embedded condition monitoring and diagnosis units were studied with the characteristics of modularization and reconfigurable. The intelligent measurement and control unit can be used to on-line monitoring, fault early warming, intelligent diagnosis and remote maintenance, it provied a solution for group integration monitoring system construction of high-grade NC machine. In this paper, the implementation and function of the intelligent measurement and control unit were introduced from 4 aspects including whole framework, hardware, software and XPE OS. An example of cutting force on-line monitoring were given, which operate well for alarming in unstable cutting condition.

Abstract Most of the flame-retardant technology now used with elastomers has been known for some time. Advances have been made in recent years in the understanding of elastomer combustion and inhibition mechanisms, in the measurement and control of visible smoke generation from elastomers, and the toxic effects of combustion atmospheres. By integrating existing technology with recent developments and the likely advances of the future, elastomeric materials will continue to receive acceptance for a wide variety of applications. Author's note: A review stressing quantitative aspects of polymer combustion has recently appeared.

Threshing cylinder is a core component of combine harvester which determines the working performance of the entire machine and also consumes a majority of the whole combine harvester’s power. In this paper, a multivariate measurement and control system was established. The control algorithms were developed by linear regression theory and abundant experimental data. The Field trials were conducted in several major grain producing areas in China for data acquisition. Practical application indicated that the developed multivariate measurement and control system could meet the demand of optimal operation of threshing cylinder. The working performance and efficiency of combine harvester was improved.

To evaluate the noise and emissions of combine harvest meet the national standards or not, a noise and emissions testing and analyzing system was developed based on virtual instrument. A high precision digital noise level meter and an opacimeter were connected to a computer via a RS232 cable, and used to detect the noise and emissions of a working combine harvester respectively. A measurement and control software was developed to collect, process and analysis the measured data automatically in real-time, and the experimental data also could be stored and printed when necessary. The analyzed results were shown on the software interface by curves and LED. To verify the stability and reliability of the system, a serial of tests were made with a Xinjiang-2A combine harvester, the results showed that this detection system meet the need of different kinds of practical applications.

This paper describes a modified modeling and simulation of the measurement and control system of the single shaft Gas Turbine (GT). This GT is used in electrical power generation in Khalda Petroleum Company. The main objective of this paper is to obtain a multi-purpose controller modeling and simulation that can be used in future testing. This controller controls the GT under heavy disturbance; considering the monitored variable is the mechanical torque. That is to obtain a general GT controller which can drive either a compressor or a generator. Then a testing procedure is done to test the Electronic Gas Turbine Control Unit (EGTCU). The system response and stability are considered to modify controller parameters and validate the controller before installation in real gas turbine system.
