According to the demand of the present agricultural environment on-line monitoring, a design scheme based on Nx5883 wireless remote control terminal is proposed for agricultural environment monitoring system. The monitoring system consists of background detection server and remote detection terminal; it can real-timely monitor the environment variables such as temperature, humidity and sunlight which can influence crop growth. Firstly the system framework is given, secondly the hardware is designed. Whats more, the function application and work process is given. Because of using the wireless data transmission, the system solved the existent problems in upgrade and expanding. Because the monitoring system has the advantages of low-power, low-cost, agile expanding and so on, it will possess a wildly application foreground.

This paper describes a design of prototype of mobile heart monitoring system based on the Texas Instruments ADS1298R ECG front end and ??2540 wireless data transmission chip. The described design and technical details allow developing a new mobile heart monitoring system consisting of ECG recording device, mobile computer (smartphone or tablet). The original algorithm of energy efficiency improvement by adaptive gain control is proposed and experimentally tested. Increase of battery life is from 1% to 19% depending on concrete conditions. The new algorithm of J-point detection is described and examined on the test ECG database. The detection rate is from 88% to 93%. It will allow mobile monitoring system to inform the user about any signs of dangerous heart condition in ECG. The paper also describes experimental results of wireless protocol bandwidth and contact break detection. The results confirm the efficiency of the proposed technical solutions to mobile heart monitoring for wide range of applications from sports and fitness to monitoring for medical reasons.

With the development of wireless communication technology and mechanical technology, the combination application of the two technologies to agricultural production has become the inevitable trend of agricultural development. Using Nx5883 wireless remote control terminal, a greenhouse environment monitoring system based on GPRS has been designed. It introduces the composition of hardware and working process of the system. The system can monitor the change of temperature and humidity in environment and soil, soil’s PH, and illumination timely. It transmits the signals and dates to the data terminal though wireless network, then the terminal can make the corresponding feedback. This system can real-time monitor and control the greenhouse environment.

Animal location technologies have evolved considerably in the last 60 years. Nowadays, animal tracking solutions based on global positioning systems (GPS) are commercially available. However, existing devices have several constraints, mostly related to wireless data transmission and financial cost, which make impractical the monitorization of all the animals in a herd. The main objective of this work is to develop a low-cost solution to enable the monitorization of a whole herd. An IoT-based system, which requires some animals of the herd being fitted with GPS collars connected to a Sigfox network and the rest with low-cost Bluetooth tags, has been developed. Its performance has been tested in two commercial farms, raising sheep and beef cattle, through the monitorization of 50 females in each case. Several collar/tag ratios, which define the cost per animal of the solution, have been simulated. Results demonstrate that a low collar/tag ratio enable the monitorization of a whole sheep herd. A larger ratio is needed for beef cows because of their grazing behavior. Nevertheless, the optimal ratio depends on the purpose of location data. Large variability has been observed for the number of hourly and daily messages from collars and tags. The system effectiveness for the monitorization of all the animals in a herd has been certainly proved.

One of the crucial aspects of the environmental protection is continuous monitoring of environment. Specific aspect is estimation of the bird species population. It is particularly important for bird species being in danger of extinction. Avian monitoring programs are time and money consuming actions which usually base on terrain expeditions. Certain remedy for this can be automatic acoustical avian monitoring system, described in the paper. Main components of the designed system are: digital audio recorder for bird voices acquisition, computer program automatically recognizing bird species by its signals emitted (voices or others) and object-relational database accessed via the Internet. Optional system components can be: digital camera and camcorder, bird attracting device, wireless data transmission module, power supply with solar panel, portable weather station. The system records bird voices and sends the recordings to the database. Recorded bird voices can be also provoked by the attracting device. Application of wireless data transmission module and power supply with solar panel allows long term operation of digital sound recorder in a hard accessible terrain. Recorded bird voices are analysed by the computer program and labelled with the automatically recognized bird species. Recognition accuracy of the program can be optionally enhanced by an expert system. Besides of labelled sound recordings, database can store also many other information like: photos and films accompanying recorded bird voices/ sounds, information about localization of observation/ recordings (GPS position, description of a place of an observation), information about bird features and behaviour, meteorological information, etc. Database on the base of geographical/ geological digital maps can generate actual maps of bird population (presence, number of individuals of each species). Moreover data-base can trigger alerts in case of rapidly decreasing bird population. It is also possible to obtain new knowledge about bird species with data mining methods. The paper presents collected data on observed bird species (audio recordings, photos and films) as well as results of experiments testing particular components of the automatic acoustical avian monitoring system.
