A new method to calculate the polarization properties of the atmosphere by combining the Rayleigh scattering and Mie scattering is proposed in this paper. We inversed the values of the required data by experiment and simulated of the atmosphere polarization characteristics under the same conditions. The simulation results show that the proposed method can accurately describe the variation of the atmosphere polarization properties. Besides, the results show such variation: in the same weather conditions, the degree of polarization is gradually increased while scattering angle is gradually increased as 90°; in the same detect conditions, the degree of polarization decreases with the deteriorating weather conditions.

Abstract. Polarization is one of the four basic physical properties of solar radiation. After the solar radiation reaches the surface of these media, it reflects, scatters or refracts, and exhibits different degrees of polarization. We use Rayleigh scattering model to get the simulation results of the sky polarization field. We use polarized fisheye camera to collect the sky polarization image, and calculate the distribution pattern of DOLP (degree of linear polarization) and AOLP (azimuth of linear polarization) of the skylight. The stability and gradual change of the degree of polarization in the zenith direction are verified, and the distribution law and daily change law of the degree of polarization in the sky are obtained. With the increase of the solar altitude angle, the degree of polarization will decrease. We also observed the skylight polarization in different weather conditions.

AbstractData obtained through microwave analog measurements are used to compare optical polarization characteristics of silicate particles ranging in shape from spheroids and cylinders to chains of spheres. It is confirmed that the dependence of the degree of polarization on scattering angle is a powerful indicator of particle shape. The reversal and steep gradient in the degree of polarization found by Weinberg and Beeson (1976a,b) in the dust tail of comet Ikeya-Seki (1965 VIII) is suggestive of laboratory measurements corresponding to 1.6 μm long, 0.4 μm in diameter silicate cylinders.

A new method of rolling prediction for gas emission based on wavelet neural network is proposed in this paper. In the method, part of the sample data is selected, which length is constant, and the data is reselected as the next prediction step. Then a wavelet neutral network is adopted to prediction which input data is rolling, the sequence model of rolling prediction is thus constructed. Simulation results have proved that the method is valid and feasible.

As to directing motor design, it is very important to make sure that the motor’s forecast of vibration performance has reference value. So, it must need motor’s parts vibration characteristics simulation results are so close to their characteristics. This paper puts forward a new simulation method of motor pole core vibration characteristics, this method includes setting anisotropy material attributes multipartite, getting attributes parameters values which are based on recommended fitting curves, modeling and equating windings, equating dipping lacquer and so on. Combining with experiments, the new method is validated its availability.

Abstract The flatness target curve is important in the flatness control theory. The accuracy of flatness target curve is an important factor to determine the load of flatness control means and flatness quality. Aiming at the defect that crown of each pass after rolling cannot be controlled quantitatively in the traditional target curve formulation of cold rolling, a new method considering the target crown was proposed. Specifically, the target crown of each pass can be set by combining the total proportional crown change in hot rolling field to each pass and the instability discrimination model in cold rolling field. the total proportional crown change of incoming material and finished product is allocated to each pass, and the instability discrimination model is applied to ensure the stability of the plate. The purpose of new method is to control of the crown of each pass quantitatively, so that the flatness and thickness of plate can meet the production requirements. Taking SUNDWIG 20-high mill and typical rolling products as an example, the simulation results show that, on the basis of ensuring the flatness and obtaining the minimum available crown after rolling, the model can make the flatness and crown meet the production requirements at the same time and control the crown of each pass after rolling quantitatively by setting the target crown of each pass.

Abstract In this paper, we study the performance improvement of free space optical (FSO) communication system with spatial diversity techniques employing hybrid pulse position modulation-binary phase shift keying-subcarrier intensity modulation (PPM-BPSK-SIM). The involvement of multiple photo-detectors in diversity based FSO systems offers an effective way to overcome scntillation. In this paper, we have simulated the bit error rate (BER) with respect to different parameters like average SNR, link distance at various weather conditions. The simulation results are verified in Matlab environment with the mathematical analysis. The simulation results show that higher order single input multiple output (SIMO) system achieves better BER performance and hybrid PPM-BPSK-SIM has significant improved performance than the common modulation schemes like PPM, BPSK-SIM.

As development of laser technology, the characteristic of laser atmospheric propagation is always hot spot in laser domain. Using theoretical models of laser atmospheric propagation, a simulation system is researched by implementing a scientific method of software development. This simulation system can simulate the radiate property of laser propagation in atmosphere, and demonstrate the course of laser propagation. This theoretical model of atmospheric propagation is based on Lambert-Beer law, combined with other classic theoretical model such as Rayleigh scattering and Mie scattering. Multiple scattering theories are used when simulating the laser propagation in smoke or fog. In calculation, the atmosphere is divided into layer. An appropriate model will be selected for calculation in each layer in order to enhance the stimulation precision. Lastly, the figure of light spot is drawn along with transmission space. Laser atmospheric propagation is demonstrated.
