National Level Quality Course Project in Higher Education aims at improvement of learners’ all-round English abilities and English teaching quality in universities and colleges in China by sharing free fine teaching information. An empirical study of National Level Quality Courses shows Online English teaching in Chinese colleges and universities is out of balance in information distribution, teaching guidelines, teaching modes, teaching methods and teaching/learning platforms between College English and English for English Majors.

Microlesson and flipped classroom, which incorporate the educational information technologies, are a new trend of college English teaching. Exploration on how the flipped classroom and microlesson promote innovation and application of educational information technology are of great significance. According to a survey among teachers, strategies that can improve the quality of college English teaching may include: strengthening teacher training; reforming the previous teaching evaluation system; managing the pre-class and classroom time; correctly understanding the role of modern education technology in college English teaching; paying attention to convergence between teaching materials and teaching software; implementing a variety of teaching methods, and strengthening the interaction inside and outside of the classroom.

This study was aimed to describe the English Teaching Methods in writing descriptive text and the problems faced by the teacher. This study was conducted by using descriptive qualitative research design. The subject of this research was an English teacher of SMK NEGERI 1 Pulau Rakyat. The techniques of collecting data were by observing the process of teaching writing comprehension of descriptive text at X Grade students and interviewing the English teacher. The techniques of collecting data were observation and interview. This study found that the teacher at SMK NEGERI 1 Pulau Rakyat used the method in teaching writing descriptive text. The English teacher used the lecture method and discussion method to teach in the descriptive text and the students get difficulties in comprehending the material. The application lecture method and discussion method is not appropriate with scientific approach of 2013 Curriculum. The result and response from the students to the teacher’s method are still not effective. The teacher should not apply the methods in written but also in spoken. And the problems faced by the teacher were the first is about the lack of students’ vocabularies, and the second is about the students’ participations when work in group. This study also found that the teacher’s methods not integrated with the scientific approach of 2013 Curriculum. The implementation of methods in teaching writing  should can make teaching learning process more interesting and help the students’ understanding and skill of writing comprehension better.Key words: Teaching Method, Writing, Descriptive Text.

College English teaching is supposed to cover both language acquisition and culture learning due to the close relationship between language and culture, taking cultural teaching as an indispensible part of college English courses. With the rapid integration of information technology and English curriculum, artificial intelligence has brought new opportunities to college English teaching, and college English cultural teaching methods are now faced with new innovations. In the age of intelligence, to promote teaching quality and learning effect, artificial intelligence technology can be embedded in English teaching practice, exerting its technical advantages and frontier characteristics. In consideration of integrated developing tendency of college English cultural teaching model and modern information technology, the paper is aimed to design and build up an intelligence-aided system so as to extend the depth and width of the application of modern information technology in college English cultural teaching as well as to exploit the great application potential of modern information technology in college English cultural teaching, thus opening a new way and presenting a direction for college English cultural teaching.

En este artículo se presenta una reflexión sobre la necesidad de utilizar métodos interactivos de enseñanza, específicamente el método de casos, y cómo influye este en el desarrollo de competencias en los estudiantes, así como la contribución del método, considerada por la autora, al proceso continuo de mejora de la calidad de la enseñanza en la educación superior. El artículo también establece cómo el proceso de globalización actual obliga a cambios radicales en las metodologías de enseñanza ya que implica la formación de un profesional global.AbstractThis article presents a reflection on the need to use interactive teaching methods, and discusses the specific example of the Case Method. It argues how this method enhances the development of students’ skills, as well as how this method contributes, in the opinion of the author, to the consistent betterment of the teaching quality in Higher Education. Additionally, this article discusses how the current globalization process forces radical changes in the teaching methodologies, considering that their goal nowadays is the formation of a global professional.
