Strong electromagnetic pulse protection is very important. We must solve the electromagnetic compatibility problem between the circuit components, the ship equipments and internal information systems, and ensure the electromagnetic compatibility of the protection measures. This paper analyzed the requirements and reinforcement targets. It also put special stress on analyzing the basic method and principle of reinforcing platform.

The article describes the technology of complex radio monitoring of emissions from multiple radio sources. The measurement data are compared with the permitted emission levels. The application of the technology helps to assess the conditions for the propagation and reception of radio signals, planning the use of the radio frequency spectrum, identifying interference and other problematic situations related to electromagnetic compatibility of existing and promising radio facilities.

When placing various antenna systems in a confined space, one has to deal with a complex electromagnetic environment and insufficient isolation between the antennas. And, although the methods of ensuring electromagnetic compatibility of such groups of radio electronic means are well known, taking into account the peculiarities of the objects under consideration, they have very limited application. The use of innovative technologies developing in recent years, including the use of screens made of metamaterials, makes it possible to significantly expand the "limits of applicability" of these methods. As the studies have shown, the screen made of metamaterial has special characteristics in comparison with traditional screens, namely: at the operating frequency of the antenna, the screen is practically permeable to electromagnetic radiation, and at the interference frequency it becomes low-transparent and works as a reflector. The results can be used to improve isolation between closely spaced antennas, such as at the tops of towers or masts.

Workflow management systems are used to run day-to-day applications in numerous domains, often including exchange and processing of sensitive data. Their native “leakage-proneness,” being the consequence of their distributed and collaborative nature, calls for sophisticated mechanisms able to guarantee proper enforcement of the necessary privacy protection measures. Motivated by the principles of Privacy by Design and its potential for workflow environments, this chapter investigates the associated issues, challenges, and requirements. With the legal and regulatory provisions regarding privacy in information systems as a baseline, the chapter elaborates on the challenges and derived requirements in the context of workflow environments, taking into account the particular needs and implications of the latter. Further, it highlights important aspects that need to be considered regarding, on the one hand, the incorporation of privacy-enhancing features in the workflow models themselves and, on the other, the evaluation of the latter against privacy provisions.

In the literature on interorganizational systems (IOS) one encounters mainly examples of information systems that support highly structured transactions between organizations. However, the range of interorganizational activities also includes less structured interactions, such as negotiations and joint problem solving. This paper wants to contribute to a better understanding of the potential of IOS by developing the notion of a high-level IOS. Technological and managerial challenges are delineated that have to be mastered in order to reach high-level IOS. Underlying the analysis of these challenges is the prediction of an evolution of IOS that is based on the analysis of the evolution of internal information systems (IS).

The article is devoted to the issue of the implementation of the Directive of the European Parliament and of the Council (EU) of 6 July 2016 on measures contributing to a high level of security of networks and information systems within the territory of the Union (the so-called NIS Directive) into the Polish legal system. In this context, the author analyses the Act on the National Cybersecurity System, presenting the system and its individual components. The subjects of consideration are the provisions of the Act on National Cybersecurity System of the Republic of Poland and other legal acts concerning the subject matter, which entered into force before the adoption of the analysed act. In conclusion, the author states that in some cases, it is necessary to amend individual legal acts in order to avoid ambiguities which lead to disruption of the system as a whole. The basic method used in this article is legal dogmatics and critical analysis of the scientific literature, documents and opinions of experts—practitioners.

According to the characteristics of lightning electromagnetic pulse (LEMP) in information systems, the new multilayer composite electromagnetic shielding materials are utilized for the effective protection of the lightning hazards. The lightning protection mechanism and the characteristics of the new electromagnetic shielding materials are investigated. The shielding and reflection principle of the new materials are carried out. The electromagnetic shielding tent which is made of such multilayer composite electromagnetic shielding materials are applied in the integrated lightning protection of information systems, which shows such materials are safe, convenient, practical and worthy of widely application.

Introduction/purpose: Technological progress has led to the actualization of the problem of construction and use of high-energy microwave weapons, especially electromagnetic bombs. However, in the recent military-professional literature, this issue is little represented. Methods: The available existing literature on the subject was analyzed. Results: It has been established that the general principles of functioning and theoretical bases have been widely available and known for many years. Numerous experiments in specialized institutions have confirmed the electromagnetic pulse effectiveness. This is especially true of sensitivity of devices based on semiconductor technology. Also, it is assumed that, at the current technological level, technical solutions are widely available to a large number of entities. The most common model of electromagnetic bomb dealt with in the literature is the realization of the use of a compression flux generator and an oscillator with a virtual cathode. According to the authors, this variant would ensure that the final product has realistic physical dimensions and sufficient strength to be useful. Another problem identified in the literature is the massive absence of adequate protection measures against the effects of electromagnetic pulses. This applies not only to the civilian but also to the military sector and imposes the need to invest significant resources in order to subsequently increase resilience. Conclusion: The available literature indicates that it is possible to make an electromagnetic bomb of acceptable physical dimensions and power. It is assumed that it would generate an electromagnetic pulse with a power of about 10 GW and a frequency of 5 GHz. In combination with high-precision weapons, even protected devices would be successfully disabled. The wide presence of semiconductor technology in all spheres of life makes this weapon extremely effective and it is realistic to expect its much wider application in the coming period.

The article proposes an algorithm for controlling the electromagnetic environment in a Wi-Fi WLAN using fuzzy logic methods. A power management system for access points has been developed, deployed using the Wi-Fi segment based on existing equipment. The use of an electromagnetic compatibility control system in high-density Wi-Fi networks can significantly improve the bandwidth of the wireless segment.
