The current CPI fluctuation is one of the hot issues that people are common concerned, the monthly published data is also concerned. Facing the problem reported by CPI, we need to analyze deeply the CPI fluctuation cycle and study the law and characteristics of fluctuation, so as to find out the reason. This article refers to the H-P filtering method, the cycle is divided on the 1978-2011 monthly CPI data, found that since the reform and opening up, the CPI has experienced seven volatility cycles, moreover, the characteristics and causes are different between previous fluctuations, so analyzing characteristics of the previous CPI fluctuation cycle has a very important significance on maintaining the stability of the price level in the future and making the correct macro-control policy.

This paper mainly discusses on what should be paid attention to when innovative ideas in bridge construction are put into practice through analyzing the achievements of China’s modern suspension bridge construction since the initiation of China’s reform and opening up to the outside world. In recent years, some new concepts have been put forward in stiffening beams, cable saddles, cable bent towers and other aspects of the suspension bridge during its development. Among them, some are innovative and useful indeed while some merely meaningless. Analyzing the innovations of suspension bridge has a guiding significance for China’s bridge construction in the future.

With China’s reform and opening-up drive in full swing in the late 1980s, the number of voluntarily organized associations was on the rise and different demands were reflected in the sector of civic association. An urgent need arose for the status, role, rights and duties of voluntarily organized associations to be defined in basic laws in line with the constitutional principle concerning civil society. The drafting of a law was put on the agenda to guarantee the rights of associations and their law-based development. This article reviews the background against which The Law on Association was drafted, the drafting process, the main content of the law, and the contentions in the drafting process, before recounting the drafting of the Regulations on Registration and Administration of Social Groups and the establishment of the Department for the Management of Social Groups. It is hoped that the experience may provide useful information for the legislation on social groups that is in the pipeline.

This article analyses the evolution of the mother–daughter relationship in China, and describes the mothering characteristics of four generations of women, which in sequence includes “foot-binding mothers”, “mothers after liberation”, “mothers after reform and opening up”, and “mothers who were only daughters”. Referring to Klein’s ideas about the mother–child relationship, especially those in her paper “Some reflections on ‘The Oresteia’ ”, the author tries to understand mothers and their impact on their daughters in these various periods of Chinese history, so as to explore the mutual influence of the mother–daughter relationship in particular, and the Chinese cultural and developmental context in general.

Considering water scarcity, photo-based processes have been presented as a depollution technique, which should be optimized in order to be applied in the future. For that, the addition of an active photocatalyst and the usage of solar radiation are mandatory steps. Thus, Fe3O4–SiO2–TiO2 was synthesized, and its performance was evaluated using simulated solar radiation and methylene blue as a model pollutant. Under optimal conditions, 86% degradation was attained in 1 h. These results were compared to recent published data, and the better performance can be attributed to both the operational conditions selection and the higher photocatalyst activity. Indeed, Fe3O4–SiO2–TiO2 was physico-chemically characterized with techniques such as XRD, N2 isotherms, spectrophotometry, FTIR, electrochemical assays and TEM.

Based on the value of agricultural farm products produced by different subsectors in China, the foregoing analysis reveals the dynamic character of agricultural diversification by which, this study seeks to examine the evolutionary process of Chinese agriculture through a quantitative study of agricultural diversification at both national and provincial levels. In the initial stages of reform and opening up, the degree of agricultural diversification in the southwest was relatively high; then the center of agricultural diversification gradually moved to the southeast of China; finally, the degree of agricultural diversification in the economically developed eastern provinces was obviously higher than those in other regions in 2019. It was seen that some provinces in the eastern and central south regions moved toward increasing diversification in one direction, and other provinces changed direction, first moving toward diversification and later toward concentration or vice versa. These oscillations implied that there was a cyclic tendency of agricultural diversification along with an increase in per capita GDP. Generally speaking, the patterns of diversification differed across regions due to diversified agricultural subsectors resulting from different natural and socio-economic circumstances. In particular, in less developed regions with lower agricultural diversification levels, farming agriculture persistently dominated the leading position with relatively more resistance to modernizing trends in other aspects of agriculture. It is urgent for the Chinese government to figure out ways off reconciling agricultural productivity with environmental quality through the ecological intensification of agriculture.

The xianggu (shiitake) mushroom industry in Xixia county, Henan, emerged and initially experienced rapid growth during the reform and opening up period. It has benefited from both the rapid expansion of the food consumption market in China and the guidance and support of the local government. After thirty years of sustained expansion, the growth of the mushroom market began to slow down and competition within the industry became fierce. Facing rich and powerful mushroom dealers, individual mushroom farmers have had to bear the brunt of market fluctuations. To break the predicament of farmers’ suffering from low prices (because of the bumper harvest paradox) and to help farmers protect their interests and gain a fair share of the industry’s profits, and thus to achieve sustained and healthy development of the mushroom industry, important institutional innovations are needed. (This article is in English.)

Nuclear phase-out policies and the European obligation to liberalise electricity markets could put the French nuclear option dramatically at risk by influencing social preferences or by constraining power producers' investment choices in the future. So far, the particular institutional set-up which has allowed the efficient build-up and operation of several series of standardised reactors preserves the stability of the main elements of the option. However, important adaptations to the evolving industrial and political environment occur and contribute to changing the option. Some institutional changes (such as local public inquiry, creation of a Parliamentary committee, independence of safety authorities) and divergence between industrial interests already allow debates on internal options such as reprocessing, type of waste management deposits, ordering of an advanced PWR. These changes improve the cost transparency, even if internalisation of nuclear externalities (cost of insurance, provisions for waste management) is still incomplete. However, when effective, this internalisation would not affect definitively the competitive position of the nuclear production because of the parallel internalisation of CO2 externalities from fossil fuel power generation in the official rationale. Consequently the real issue for the future of the nuclear option in France remains the preservation of social acceptability in the perception of nuclear risks.
