At present, direct power-purchase for large consumers is difficult to carry out effectively when demand exceeds supply. Interest demand of direct power-purchase for large consumers under different conditions of supply and demand is analyzed in this paper. Therefore, design principle of transaction mechanism for direct transaction adapting to different supply and demand situation is also applied. The purpose is striving to carry out the direct transaction effectively when market demand exceeds supply situation, adjusting the supply and demand and solving the "soft lack of electricity" phenomenon due to fluctuation of coal price. In the end, some suggestions are put forward to the current transaction rules.

The rapid development of information technologies and their penetration into various spheres of human activity cause a sharply increased demand for IT specialists, in many countries of the world far exceeding the supply on them. High rates of technological transformation contribute to the diversification of the IT segment of the labor market, on the one hand, stimulate the disappearance of some and the emergence of new IT specialties, on the other. This creates a discrepancy between the structure of IT-related education and the labor market demand for IT specialists of the required profile and determines the relevance of developing methods for assessing the demand for IT specialties. This article is devoted to the study and solution of the problem of identifying the demand for IT specialties in the absence of accurate and complete information about the situation in the IT market segment. For the assessment of IT specialties and their ranking by the degree of demand in the labor market, the tasks of making individual and group decisions in the context of fuzzy initial information are formulated and solved. The methodological basis of the tasks posed is multi-criteria decision support methods based on fuzzy relations of expert preferences. The proposed approach as a mathematical tool for minimizing the structural imbalance of supply and demand for IT specialties is one of the components of the system of intellectual management of the labor market of IT specialists. The latter is designed to support the adoption of scientifically based management decisions to eliminate the mismatch of supply and demand in the IT segment of the labor market in professional, quantitative and qualitative sections.

This study explored historical food availability/supply and the market demand for food. Secondary data was used for analyzing demand-supply gap. The average growth in rice production was 2.9% per year in 1971/72 to 2008/09, of which 93% was contributed by yield growth. The overall growth rate of area under food grain was 0.3% in 1971/72 to 2008/09. The overall food grain production growth rate is higher than population growth rate from 1971/72 to 2008/09. The own price and income elasticities of rice were -0.108 and 0.199 respectively. It was projected that upto 2021, the annual demand for food exceed the supply of food which were -0.28% for rice and -1.76% for wheat. That implies the demands are greater than the supplies for both crops. Keywords: Food supply and demand; Price and income elasticities DOI: 10.3329/jbau.v8i1.6405J. Bangladesh Agril. The North American pipeline industry is facing a time of significant expansion over the next decade as a result of market demand and technology advancements that have fundamentally shifted supply and demand patterns in North America. While recent commodity prices have softened, the need for pipeline infrastructure may only be somewhat delayed, still allowing industry opportunity to improve practices in a number of areas. The INGAA Foundation and the Canadian Energy Pipeline Association (CEPA) Foundation have a number of initiatives underway in this respect; in particular, there is an emphasis on improving quality in all aspects of the pipeline construction process. One of the initiatives, described in this paper, relates to the compilation of a guide and body of knowledge for inspection practices and captures best practices as they relate to third party inspection during the construction process. The outlined approach is intended to have two main philosophical underpinnings: it must complement existing practices, training and certification, and it must remain user friendly and practical to use. The main challenge in capturing best practices in this area lies in striking an appropriate balance between specific guidance regarding third party inspection and overly prescriptive, specific company practices. This is further complicated due to the broad range of topics and information required that is not always consistently documented across member companies. In light of these realities, the approach for the Practical Guide for Pipeline Construction Inspection was to align material required to perform an inspection task tightly to the sequential construction process to allow an intuitive layout for new industry entrants. Once a working group, representing both US and Canadian Operators and Services providers was established, a detailed table of contents was developed and agreed to by the group. Using this simple framework, available Member Company information was then reviewed, assessed and captured in detail for inclusion in the guide. The information took a range of forms ranging from specifications, manuals to training documents and modules. Significant collaboration, through working sessions, with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), used to review, revise and supplement the content, as required. Overall, this approach provided a technically sound guide, addressing gaps in codified industry knowledge, while remaining relevant and accessible for most users. Upon completion, this body of knowledge will be available for member companies to use immediately, and potentially, as a basis for training, individual study, and the further refinement of existing industry certification.

Marketing, promotion, sales, communications, audiences, participation – the concepts covered in this section are a fundamental part of festival management, whether your event is a community fête or a globally recognised music festival. The word ‘marketing’ originated from the simple forms of buying and selling that can be seen in a local street market, but the term now encompasses a range of sophisticated techniques that have developed to help companies decide what products and services to produce and how to persuade people to buy them. This chapter introduces marketing concepts and illustrates how festivals and cultural events can adapt the techniques to develop appropriate experiences for festival-goers, artists and communities. This chapter will introduce concepts such as supply and demand, segmentation and targeting, CRM (customer relationship management), experience marketing and its relationship to service design, and branding. It will raise questions about the extent to which a festival’s artistic programme can or should be led by market demand, whether the relationship between artists and festival-goers is more complex than those expected in traditional marketing models and about the ethics of storing and using data collected on festival-goers’ behaviours and preferences.

Imbalance of supply and demand relation in international market and the increasing volatility of exchange rate force the manufacturer to make reasonable R&D (Research and Development) strategy under turbulent market environment, which has become particularly important to enhance the international competitiveness. This paper presents a fuzzy random variable with multifold uncertain attribute to depict the increasing fluctuation of the market demand and the exchange rate, and thus construct two bilevel programming models with fuzzy random variables, which aims to compare two different R&D strategies: manufacturer involved in R&D independently and joint R&D of manufacturer and supplier. According to the characteristics of the two models, this paper designs the corresponding hybrid intelligent algorithms. The results of the two models in numerical examples show that: collaborative R&D strategy between manufacturer and supplier is better than manufacturer’s independent R&D strategy and the optimal proportion of R&D in this paper can be obtained: the supplier shares 50% of the total R&D cost.

As supply chain involves a wide spread of enterprises, it is inevitable to have a bullwhip effect. The reason, why bullwhip effect occurs, includes such factors as demand forecast, delay in delivery, bulk orders and others. Bullwhip effect results increased inventory, differences in supply and demand, posing great risks on enterprise operation. To reducing the bullwhip effect in supply chains, such strategies as establishing an information-sharing platform, establishing strategic partnerships, direct ship and transit, stabling market demand fluctuations, should be taken, which will improve the competitiveness of enterprises in supply chain.

The usage amount of medicinal plant rapidly increased along with the development of traditional Chinese medicine industry. The higher market demand and the shortage of wild herbal resources enforce us to carry out large-scale introduction and cultivation. Herbal cultivation can ease current contradiction between medicinal resources supply and demand while they bring new problems such as pesticide residues and plant disease and pests. Researchers have recently placed high hopes on the application of natural fostering, a new method incorporated herbal production and diversity protecting practically, which can solve the problems brought by artificial cultivation. However no modes can solve all problems existing in current herbal production. This study evaluated different production modes including cultivation, natural fostering, and wild collection to guide the traditional Chinese medicine production for sustainable utilization of herbal resources.

Demand for blockchains such as Bitcoin and Ethereum is far larger than supply, necessitating a mechanism that selects a subset of transactions to include "on-chain" from the pool of all pending transactions. EIP-1559 is a proposal to make several tightly coupled changes to the Ethereum blockchain's transaction fee mechanism, including the introduction of variable-size blocks and a burned base fee that rises and falls with demand. These changes are slated for deployment in Ethereum's "London fork," scheduled for late summer 2021, at which point it will be the biggest economic change made to a major blockchain to date. This short note provides an overview of recent work by the author that formally investigates and compares the incentive guarantees offered by Ethereum's current transaction fee mechanism and the new mechanism proposed in EIP-1559.

With the rapid development of mobile communication procurement platform, it is faced with many risks, such as national policy differences, regional market differentiation, trade control, and technical barriers. Among them, the risk of supply and demand interruption will lead to the disconnection between upstream and downstream enterprises and consumers in the crossborder supply chain, making it difficult for them to achieve the profit target of the supply chain and meet the market demand. In order to reduce the risk of supply and demand disruption in mobile communication procurement platform and improve the ability to prevent and deal with disruption emergencies, a two-level supply chain composed of crossborder suppliers, overseas suppliers, and overseas retailers is established, and the procurement decision optimization of crossborder supply chain under the condition of single channel procurement and dual channel procurement before and after investment is studied. The research show that when overseas retailers invest in crossborder suppliers and choose a dual-source ordering strategy, it is more conducive to overseas retailers to reduce the risk of crossborder supply chain interruption and obtain higher expected profits.
