At present, there are not any systematic researches on the fundamental performance of recycled concrete(RC). Thus it incites the inadequate confidence for the usage of RC. In this thesis, four different kinds of RC whose strength are C20、C25、C30、C35 respectively, are made using various mixing proportion. Then the influence rule of different recycled aggregate mixture quantities is drawn out, which consists the impacts on compressive strength, axial compressive strength, splitting strength, elastic modulus as well as the bending strength of RC. Meanwhile, the relation between the cubic compressive strength and the splitting strength, elastic modulus, axial compressive strength, bending strength is imitated, which provides study basis for the using of wasted concrete.

Compressive strengths of recycled aggregate concrete(RAC) with different recycled aggregates(RA) replacement ratios at 7d, 28d, 60d ages are investigated respectively. Failure process and failure mode of RAC are analyzed, influences on compressive strength with same mix ratio and different RA replacement ratios are analyzed, and the reason is investigated in this paper. The experimental results indicate that compressive strength of recycled concrete at 28d age can reach the standard generally, it is feasible to mix concrete with recycled aggregates, compressive strength with 50% replacement ratio is relatively high.

In this paper an experimental program has been carried out in order to compare compressive strength fcand elastic static modulus Ecof recycled concrete with ultrasonic waves velocity Vp, to establish the possibility of employing nondestructive ultrasonic tests to qualify recycled concrete. 9 mix of concrete with different substitution percentage of recycled aggregates instead of natural ones and 27 cylindrical samples have been made. At first ultrasonic tests have been carried out on cylindrical samples, later elastic static modulus Ecand compressive strength fchave been experimentally evaluated. The dynamic elastic modulus Edhas been determined in function of ultrasonic wave velocity Vp; furthermore the correlations among Ed, Ec, fce Vphave been determined. It has been demonstrated that ultrasonic tests are suitable for evaluating different deformative and resisting concrete performances even when variations are small.

Abstract. Recycled aggregate—rural building material wastes pretreated by cement mortar—are applied into concrete with different replacement rates: 0, 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%. Results from measurements of compressive strength, cleavage tensile strength, mass loss after fast freeze-thaw cycles, and compressive strength loss indicate that a different recycled aggregate replacement rate certainly influences concrete mechanical properties and frost resistance. Recycled aggregate replacement rates less than 75% performs better than common concrete. Data from the 100% replacement rate is worse than that of rates less than 75% but still satisfy the general demands of GB standard on C30 concrete.

With the increase in the use of recycled aggregate concrete (RAC), it is necessary to clearly understand its behavior and characteristics. In this paper, experimental study on compressive strength of RAC with same water/cement ratio is conducted. Firstly, influence of recycled coarse aggregate contents on cube compressive strength of RAC is studied. Secondly, experiment on time-dependent strength developing process of RAC is conducted with different solidification ages. Finally, based on above experimental investigations, empirical formula for compress strengths of RAC with different ages is presented. The result of this paper is helpful to theoretical analysis and practical engineering design of RAC structures.

Extensive studies have been performed on the mechanical and durability properties of the concrete prepared with recycled coarse aggregates (RCA), however, only modest consideration has been given to the studies on the behaviour of RAC prepared by alternative mixing approach techniques. This study presents the mechanical properties of the recycled aggregate concrete (RAC) with different percentages of RCA prepared by normal mixing approach (NMA), two-stage mixing approach (TSMA) and sand enveloped mixing approach (SEMA) techniques. The manufactured concrete mixtures were tested for compression, tension, flexure and elastic modulus at 7, 28 and 90 days. The results indicate that the mechanical properties of the RAC (with 100% of RCA) prepared through TSMA and SEMA were improved by 9.36 and 12.14% at 28 days. Perhaps, prolonged curing to TSMA and SEMA mixtures improved the mechanical properties of the RAC that is nearly equal to normal aggregate concrete (NAC) prepared by NMA.

In recent years, as structures become higher, larger, and more durable concrete whose compressive strength of the concrete is 150 N/mm 2 or more have been put to practical use. It is for this reason that it is necessary to develop strengthening materials with equal or better performance. Furthermore, the development of high-performance concrete repair materials is carried out because demand to seismic strengthening and repair increases. In this study, considering these circumstances, it was conducted an experimental study with the aim of developing a repair material using room temperature curing UFC (R-UFC). A binder composition preparation of the R-UFC has excellent fluidity under pressure. It was achieved that high-grade thixotropy, high compressive strength, and high bending strength. It can also be sprayed continuously because of its high thixtoropy. It was confirmed that the sprayed thickness was reached to 20mm by one work. Durability of this R-UFC was investigated and it was confirmed the high sulfate resistance, small drying shrinkage and low salt permeability.

Concrete structures are often in different humidity conditions that have a significant impact on the elastic modulus of concrete, therefore, systematic research on the evolution of the law of concrete elastic modulus under different humidity conditions is needed. In this study, the variation laws of the water saturation of concrete specimens with strength grades C15, C20, and C30 were obtained, and then the influence laws of the water saturation on the concrete axial compressive strength were carried out, and the prediction model of elastic modulus of concrete with respect to water saturation was constructed. The results showed that the water saturation of concrete with strength grades C15, C20, and C30 increased with an extension of immersion time, and the water saturation showed an approximately linear rapid growth within three soaking hours, reaching 47.56%, 71.63%, and 47.29%, respectively. Note, the concrete reached saturation state when the soaking time was 240 h. The axial compressive strength with strength grades C15, C20, and C30 decreased with increased water saturation, and the axial compressive strength of saturated concrete decreased by 27.25%, 21.14%, and 20.76%, respectively, as compared with the dry state concrete. The elastic modulus of concrete with strength grades C15, C20, and C30 increased with increased water saturation, and the elastic modulus of saturated concrete was 1.18, 1.19, and 1.24 times higher than those of dry concrete, respectively.

In order to reveal the constitutive behavior of recycled aggregate concrete (RAC) which is related to time effect, 33 prismatic specimens were designed to have uniaxial compression tests. The changing variation of elastic modulus and Poisson’s ratios of RAC specimens which were placed two years in the lab were inspected, and a related correction formula was put forward to describe the elastic modulus. The results show that with the aggregate replacement rate growing, the RAC brittleness was relatively obvious. Since time effect played a great role, the axial compressive strength and elastic modulus were larger than those of normal concrete and the standard age concrete which is calculated. Poisson's ratio did not change significantly and the values were relatively stable, while the higher replacement rate is, the lower values are.

The complete stress-strain curves of recycled aggregate concrete with different recycled coarse aggregate replacement percentages were tested and investigated. An analysis was made of the influence of varying recycled coarse aggregate contents on the complete stress-strain curve, peak stress, peak strain and elastic modulus etc. The elastic modulus of RC is lower than natural concrete (NC), and with the recycled coarse aggregate contents increase, it reduces. While with the increase of water-cement ratio (W/C), recycled concrete compressive strength and elastic modulus improve significantly. In addition, put forward a new equation on the relationship between Ec and fcu of the RC.
