The ink transfer rate and ink absorption rate directly affects the quality of printing matter, so it is very important to know the influence factors of the ink transfer rate and ink absorption rate. This paper studied on the impact of offset paper smoothness and offset paper absorbency on the ink transfer rate, the impact of offset paper compactness and offset paper absorbency on the ink absorption rate. The results show that ink transfer rate is affected by offset paper smoothness within a certain range. The ink transfer rate is affected greatly by offset paper absorbency. The ink absorption rate is greatly affected by offset paper compactness and absorbency.

Magnetic properties of silicon steel mainly depend on the internal organizational structure and chemical composition. The main factors affecting magnetic properties of silicon steel are analyzed and summarized, including grain size, inclusions (size, type, quantity, and morphology), crystal texture, internal stress, dimensional accuracy, the surface quality of steels, and chemical composition. The impact mechanism of the factors influencing silicon steel magnetic property is explained and these influence factors are interrelated.

In the process of electromagnetic forming (EMF), the rebound effect caused by high speed collision between sheet and die will affect the fittability, which results in a bad forming quality of workpiece. In this paper, finite element models of direct EMF and indirect EMF with an elastic medium are established, the influence factors of fittability in indirect EMF are studied, the two forming processes are compared, and the mechanisms of reduced rebound effect in indirect EMF are revealed. The results show that: in indirect EMF, with the increase of the discharging voltage or thickness of rubber, the fittability increases and then decreases; when the thickness of driver plate is equal to the skin depth of the driver plate, the fittability is the best. The optimal process parameters of indirect EMF are as follows: the discharging voltage is 10 kV, the thickness of the rubber is 20 mm and the thickness of driver plate is 2 mm. The rebound effect in indirect EMF is reduced compared with direct EMF for the following reasons: the impact force caused by the collision between the sheet and die is balanced by the pressure provided by the rubber; the sheet is always under tensile stress state due to the friction force provided by rubber; the remaining kinetic energy of sheet after collision with the die is absorbed by rubber. Therefore, the rebound effect in indirect EMF is suppressed compared with direct EMF. So, the fittability of the workpiece is improved, which results in a better forming quality.

Because of the impact of close partner's touch on psychological and physical well-being by alleviating stress, it is important to explore the influence factors that underlie the stress-alleviating effect of close partner's touch. Previous studies suggested that the stress-alleviating effect was different when individuals were touched by different persons. Specifically, the stress was reduced significantly when the individual was touched by the close partner compared with the acquaintance and the stranger. However, whether the stress-alleviating effect of touch was modulated by the close relationship quality is unknown. To examine this question, the participants (n = 61) performed a 3 (i.e., alone, partner no-touch, and partner touch) × 2 (i.e., safety and threat) within-subjects experiment. The results revealed that the stress of the participants alleviated significantly while close partners present with touch compared with without touch during facing a threat. We also found that the relationship quality of couple-members (i.e., participants perceiving the quality of alternatives and the partners' commitment level) modulated touch-induced stress alleviation. Participants perceiving the low quality of alternatives and the high partners' commitment level showed stronger touch-induced stress-alleviating effect than participants perceiving the high quality of alternatives and the low partners' commitment level. The explained variance was around 16.8% jointly for actor and partner effects. These findings provide evidence for explaining the reasons for touch-induced alleviating stress and have important implications for predicting the future effect of interactive behaviors.

Purpose The purpose of this study was to identify levels of self-compassion in adults who do and do not stutter and to determine whether self-compassion predicts the impact of stuttering on quality of life in adults who stutter. Method Participants included 140 adults who do and do not stutter matched for age and gender. All participants completed the Self-Compassion Scale. Adults who stutter also completed the Overall Assessment of the Speaker's Experience of Stuttering. Data were analyzed for self-compassion differences between and within adults who do and do not stutter and to predict self-compassion on quality of life in adults who stutter. Results Adults who do and do not stutter exhibited no significant differences in total self-compassion, regardless of participant gender. A simple linear regression of the total self-compassion score and total Overall Assessment of the Speaker's Experience of Stuttering score showed a significant, negative linear relationship of self-compassion predicting the impact of stuttering on quality of life. Conclusions Data suggest that higher levels of self-kindness, mindfulness, and social connectedness (i.e., self-compassion) are related to reduced negative reactions to stuttering, an increased participation in daily communication situations, and an improved overall quality of life. Future research should replicate current findings and identify moderators of the self-compassion–quality of life relationship.

Lung cancer is one of the most commonly diagnosed cancers across Northern America and Europe. Treatment options offered are dependent on the type of cancer, the location of the tumor, the staging, and the overall health of the person. When surgery for lung cancer is offered, difficulty swallowing is a potential complication that can have several influencing factors. Surgical interaction with the recurrent laryngeal nerve (RLN) can lead to unilateral vocal cord palsy, altering swallow function and safety. Understanding whether the RLN has been preserved, damaged, or sacrificed is integral to understanding the effect on the swallow and the subsequent treatment options available. There is also the risk of post-surgical reduction of physiological reserve, which can reduce the strength and function of the swallow in addition to any surgery specific complications. As lung cancer has a limited prognosis, the clinician must also factor in the palliative phase, as this can further increase the burden of an already compromised swallow. By understanding the surgery and the implications this may have for the swallow, there is the potential to reduce the impact of post-surgical complications and so improve quality of life (QOL) for people with lung cancer.
