This work explored a new water bath stimulating method to extract coelomic fluid from active Eisenia foetida. Coelomic fluid discharge amount and the coelomic fluid activity were tested to obtain the optimum extraction temperature (ET) and time. The maximum amount of coelomic fluid was obtained at 42 oC, at which vermis is exact activity, while the vermis activity is inhibited at 44 oC and even the vermis comprehensive death is observed at 46 oC, therefore the optimum ET is 42 oC; the optimum extraction time is 7 a.m. and 6 p.m for which the volume of coelomic fluid is the most. When extracted from coelomic fluid at 7 a.m and 11a.m, 60 times and 10 times diluted solution obtained the highest generation rate; when it is at 3 p.m., 10 and 100 dilution times is the best; when it is at 1 p.m., 30 and 200 dilution times is the best, and 30-80 dilution times is the optimal when it is from 3 p.m..

Using pitaya as raw material, this paper used ethanol subsiding method to study the extraction technology of pitaya polysaccharide by single factor test and orthogonal test. Through orthogonal test, we have found the optimum extraction conditions of pitaya polysaccharide as follows: extraction temperature 60℃, solid-liquid ratio 1:30, extraction time 3h. Under the optimal extraction conditions, the yield of pitaya polysaccharide was 1.13%.

The effect of extraction temperature, extraction time, alcohol concentration, ratio of material to liquid (g/ml)on extraction yield of natural yellow pigment from waste almond shell were studied. The optimum conditions were determined by L9 (34) the orthogonal test . The optimum extraction conditions are the extraction temperature at 75°C;the extraction time for 2h; the extraction agent concentration of 20%ethanol ; the material-liquid ration (g/ml) 1:15.The extraction yield of natural yellow pigment from almond shell is 6.25%,The order of effects are extraction temperature>extraction time>ratio of material to liquid(g/ml)>alcohol concentration. This research provides the theoretical basis for the industrial production of the extraction of natural almond shell pigment and provides a new way for the re-use of the abandoned almond shell.

The experiment of extraction of polysaccharide from foxtail millet was investigated. Response Surface Methodology (RSM),based on a threelevel, three variablesBox-Behnken design (BBD), was employed to obtain the best possible combination of liquid-solid ratio(X1: 15.0-25.0 mL?g-1),extraction time (X2: 1.5-2.5h), and extraction temperature (X3: 65.0-75.0?C)for maximum polysaccharide yields. The experimental data obtained were fitted to a second-order polynomial equation using multiple regression analysis and also analyzed by appropriate statistical methods (ANOVA). The optimum extraction conditions were as follows: liquid-solid ratio 20.7mL?g-1, extraction time 2.0h, extraction temperature 72.3?C. Under these conditions, the experimental yield was 8.08mg?g-1, which is well in close agreement with8.02mg?g-1predicted value by the model.

Response surface methodology was employed to optimize the ultrasound-assisted extraction (UAE) conditions for simultaneous optimization of dependent variables, including DPPH radical scavenging activity (RSA), tyrosinase activity inhibition (TAI), and collagenase activity inhibition (CAI) of peanut shell extracts. The effects of the main variables including extraction time (5.0~55.0 min, X1), extraction temperature (26.0~94.0 °C, X2), and ethanol concentration (0.0%~99.5%, X3) were optimized. Based on experimental values from each condition, quadratic regression models were derived for the prediction of optimum conditions. The coefficient of determination (R2) of the independent variable was in the range of 0.89~0.96, which demonstrates that the regression model is suitable for the prediction. In predicting optimal UAE conditions based on the superimposing method, extraction time of 31.2 min, extraction temperature of 36.6 °C, and ethanol concentration of 93.2% were identified. Under these conditions, RSA of 74.9%, TAI of 50.6%, and CAI of 86.8% were predicted, showing good agreement with the experimental values. A reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction showed that peanut shell extract decreased mRNA levels of tyrosinase-related protein-1 and matrix metalloproteinase-3 genes in B16-F0 cell. Therefore, we identified the skin-whitening and anti-wrinkle effects of peanut shell extracts at protein as well as gene expression levels, and the results show that peanut shell is an effective cosmetic material for skin-whitening and anti-wrinkle effects. Based on this study, peanut shell, which was considered a byproduct, can be used for the development of healthy foods, medicines, and cosmetics.

Saffron, which has many kinds of biological activities, has been widely used in medicine, cosmetics, food, and other fields of health promotion industries. Crocins are the main component of saffron (Crocus sativus L.). At present, most of the extraction methods for crocins require long time or special instruments to complete the process and some of them are not suitable for industrial production at present. In this article, homogenate extraction technology which is a convenient and efficient method was developed for crocins extraction from saffron. Firstly, the influences of extraction voltage, extraction time, ethanol concentration, and temperature on crocins yield were studied by single factor experiments; and then response surface methodology (RSM) was used to optimize levels of four variables based on the result of single factor experiments. Results showed that the optimum extraction process conditions for crocins were as follows: extraction voltage, 110 V; ethanol concentration, 70%; extraction temperature, 57°C; and extraction time, 40 s. Based on these conditions, the extraction yield of crocins can reach 22.76% which is higher than ultrasonic extraction method. Therefore, homogenate extraction is an effective way to extract crocins from saffron with higher extraction yield and shorter extraction time.

Microwave-assisted extraction (MAE) was used to extract chlorophylls from filter mud. Ethanol was used as the solvent. The optimal conditions for the MAE of chlorophylls were concluded from the study as the irradiation time, 50 s, the ratio of liquid to solid, 8:1 (mL/g), the extraction temperature, 40 °C, and the extraction time, 60 min. Compared with conventional extraction, the MAE of chlorophylls from the filter mud was more effective. The extraction time for MAE was 60 min with 0.277 mg/g chlorophyll yield, while conventional extraction needed 240 min with only about 0.259 mg/g chlorophyll yield. The Ultraviolet Absorption Spectra of the extracted chlorophylls showed that there was a strong absorption peak at about 663 nm. C=N, Mg-N and C-N was not seen existed from the infrared spectroscopy probably because that the mixed extracts were not purified and the chlorophyll content was less.
