This paper discussed the important of the human engineering in uniforms design according to the analysis of the present situation on the human engineering in fashion design. We advance four methods on uniforms design: constructing the human body database, guiding the clothing structural design, helping designers to realize the correlations on “human, clothing and environment”, and lead visual design for feeling. The purpose of this paper is to lay a solid foundation for the uniforms industry upgrade by exploring the development direction of scientific and professional uniform.

In order to improve the human engineering properties for the racing wheelchair, using the CATIA Human Engineering Analysis module, this paper established the human body 3-D model, analyzed the eligibility of the hold and the extend for the racing wheelchair, analyzed and evaluated the comfort of three typical sports postures of human body. The general evaluation results accorded with the human body kinematic theory, and the upper limb comfort gradually became better, in a movement cycle of the upper limbs driving the wheelchair.

This paper describes an effort to study the simultaneous motion trajectories of a large number of human body landmarks of a pilot during upper limb motions typical of those necessary to fly an aircraft. The objective is to gather engineering anthropometric data necessary, from a human engineering point of view, in the design of aircraft cockpits and other similar manned work stations. Twenty subjects participated in an experiment conducted to record the movements. A photographic procedure combining slow speed motion picture and interrupted light photography was employed to record the movements. This paper describes the procedure and also presents a set of typical paths of movement obtained through such recording. Also mentioned are some of the preliminary findings regarding the motion characteristics of parts of the human body.

It is often said that it might be very important to take Kansei, some kind of human sensuous inspiration, into account of design. And it becomes more and more important especially in the design of products whose functions are saturated and it becomes difficult to gain competitive power only by adding a new function. In those cases, it is difficult to gain competitive power by neither discounting its prices nor making efforts in human engineering sense of ease in handling. In such cases, visual design will be more important, so that visual designers become key of success in the product. However, Kansei design used to be based on questionnaires to the customers, and it is basically based on putting emphasis on the greatest common of them. But, in most of cases visual designers would like to show their feelings into design and lead majority to his or her sense. So that Kansei design database is often useless to them and it is sometimes obstacle for their creativity. In this paper, we will propose the Kansei design system which is based on image processing system and qualifying image by using Fourier transform and make up a new visual design by using those Fourier transform data. As an example, we have used the proposed system in design of doors. We have verified the results by inspiration test and brain test and showed a possibility of the proposed method.

In the efficient human engineering of man/equipment systems, information on the range of variability in human body size and proportions is of basic importance. Such information is to be found in anthropometric data. The anthropometric data to be utilized, however, should be that on the population for which the equipment is intended. Anthropometric data on four representative body dimensions are presented and discussed to illustrate the range of variability to be found in diverse populations.

At the present situation of unbalanced proportion on aiming at the coal roadway mining, and bolting support at a slower speed. Puts forward EBZ-160 type roadheader airborne anchor design idea and principle of the rig. Establishing virtual prototype take advantage of the parametric design software of Pro/ENGINEER, and used Mechanism/Pro interface software put the 3D model import to ADAMS, to anchor rig for dynamics simulation. The simulation results said the machine structural design is reasonable, can satisfy the requirements of operation.
