A measuring device for gear dynamic transmission error test is developed based on NI Labview software, and a new type eccentric bushing structure that can simulate a variety of installation errors is presented. The hardware and software design of the gear dynamic transmission error measuring device is given, and the gear dynamic transmission errors for low-speed and high-speed in different loads are gotten based on the device and the measured data. Experimental dynamic transmission error results show that the gear dynamic transmission error measuring device is a stable and friendly interface with easy operation and high accuracy, able to do real-time detection and data acquisition for gearing.

A three-dimensional dynamic model is presented to simulate the dynamic behavior of single stage gears by using a combination of classic shaft, lumped parameter and specific 2-node gear elements. The mesh excitation formulation is based on transmission errors whose mathematical grounding is briefly described. The validity of the proposed methodology is assessed by comparison with experimental evidence from a test rig. The model is then employed to analyze the relationship between dynamic transmission errors and dynamic tooth loads or root stresses. It is shown that a linear dependency can be observed between the time variations of dynamic transmission error and tooth loading as long as the system can be assimilated to a torsional system but that this linear relationship tends to disappear when the influence of bending cannot be neglected.

At present, the error control method for high-speed serial data transmission obtains the errors by comparison and then controls them. If the data transmission channel is not denoised, the packet loss and error codes become serious, and energy consumption increases. The use of fuzzy classification is proposed to control data transmission errors. The method uses the combination of wavelet transform and transform domain difference to double denoise the channel, and it completes the clustering of data transmission errors by fuzzy classification. Considering packet loss, error codes, and energy consumption in data transmission error control, when the communication distance between two nodes is small, automatic repeat request is used to control data transmission errors. As the distance between nodes increases, forward error correction is used to control data transmission errors. When the communication distance gradually increases, data transmission errors are controlled by hybrid automatic repeat request. Experiments showed that the proposed method can reduce the data transmission error, control energy consumption, packet loss rate, and bit error rate, and enhance the denoising effect.

This paper complements recent investigations [Handschuh et al (2014), Talbot et al (2016)] of the influences of tooth indexing errors on dynamic factors of spur gears by presenting data on changes to the dynamic transmission error. An experimental study is performed using an accelerometer-based dynamic transmission error measurement system incorporated into a high-speed gear tester to establish baseline dynamic behavior of gears having negligible indexing errors, and to characterize changes to this baseline due to application of tightly-controlled intentional indexing errors. Spur test gears having different forms of indexing errors are paired with a gear having negligible indexing error. Dynamic transmission error of gear pairs under these error conditions is measured and examined in both time and frequency domains to quantify the transient effects induced by these indexing errors. Both measurements indicate clearly that the baseline dynamic response, dominated by well-defined resonance peaks and mesh harmonics, are complemented by non-mesh orders of transmission error due the transient behavior induced by indexing errors.

Abstract This study analyzes the nonlinear static and dynamic response in spur gear pairs with tooth root crack damage. A finite element/contact mechanics (FE/CM) model is used that accurately captures the elastic deformations on the gear teeth due to kinematic motion, tooth and rim deformations, vibration, and localized increases in compliance due to a tooth root crack. The damage is modeled by releasing the connectivity of the finite element mesh at select nodes near a tooth crack. The sensitivity of the calculated static transmission errors and tooth mesh stiffnesses is determined for varying crack initial locations, final locations, and the path from the initial to final location. Gear tooth mesh stiffness is calculated for a wide range of tooth root crack lengths, including large cracks that extend through nearly all of the tooth. Mesh stiffnesses are meaningfully reduced due to tooth root crack damage. The dynamic response is calculated for cracks of varying length. Larger cracks result in increased peak dynamic transmission errors. For small tooth root cracks the spectrum of dynamic transmission error contains components near the natural frequency of the gear pair. The spectrum of dynamic transmission error has broadband frequency response for large tooth root cracks that extend further than one-half of the tooth’s thickness.

With the rapid development of economic society, more and more people are suffering from the huge pressure that comes from all aspects. So many kinds of diseases have higher morbidity than before. Among these diseases gallstone is paid more attention because of its generality. To design a new type instrument that can dissolve cholesterin gallstone directly through peristaltic pumps controlled by industry compute and high speed Analog/Digital (A/D) and Digital/Analog (D/A) card. The instrument can regulate the amount of solvent automatically in order to adapt to the cholecyst according to the treatment parameter given by manipulator and the pressure of patients' cholecyst. Meanwhile, the date can be displayed on the screen. The working principle, structure design, hardware and software design have been presented in this paper. The instrument showed a good result both in vitro and in vivo for animals. These tests confirm that the instrument can enhance the efficiency of manual infusing to dissolve a stone and decrease the patients’ pain and sufferings, especially have more significance to the patients who aren't fit for operation and anesthesia. It has the advantages of quick treatment and micro hurt, fitting for clinic use. The new type instrument that can dissolve cholesterin gallstone is a kind of means that can be widespread used with micro hurt.

Research objective: studies of economic and transport infrastructure development in the Arctic and Northern Territories of Russia. Research methodology: analysis of transport infrastructure in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) and the types of railways used in Russia. Results: economic development of any region is proportional to the development of the road transport infrastructure and logistics. When a conventional railway is operated in the Arctic conditions, it is not always possible to maintain a cargo turnover that would ensure its efficient use, and transshipment from one mode of transport to another is very problematic. A new type of railway is proposed, i.e. a light railway. Conclusions: the proposed new type of transport offers all the main advantages of narrow gauge railroads (high speed of construction, efficiency, etc.) and helps to eliminate their main disadvantage, i.e. the need for transloading when moving from a narrow gauge to the conventional one with the width of 1520 mm, along with a significant reduction in capital costs.

This paper describes the design, operation, construction, and demonstration of a new type of high-bandwidth unsteady temperature sensor based on fiber optics, and capable of operating in a high-speed multistage research compressor with flow representative of jet engine conditions. The sensing element is an optical coating of zinc selenide deposited on the end of an optical fiber. During evaluation in aerodynamic testing, a 1 K gas temperature resolution was demonstrated at 9.6 kHz and an upper bandwidth limit of 36 kHz achieved.

An approach for the design and generation of low-noise helical gears with localized bearing contact is proposed. The approach is applied to double circular arc helical gears and modified involute helical gears. The reduction of noise and vibration is achieved by application of a predesigned parabolic function of transmission errors that is able to absorb a discontinuous linear function of transmission errors caused by misalignment. The localization of the bearing contact is achieved by the mismatch of pinion-gear tooth surfaces. Computerized simulation of meshing and contact of the designed gears demonstrated that the proposed approach will produce a pair of gears that has a parabolic transmission error function even when misalignment is present. Numerical examples for illustration of the developed approach are given.
