Subjects with manufacturing processes contents are part of most engineering degrees. These subjects are usually taught in halfway semesters and are of theoretical and practical nature. Very often students show problems to understand and retain the contents of these subjects, since most of those contents are frequently new and have not been addressed during secondary school. In this work, a study on students' level of comprehension and retention of manufacturing processes contents is presented. In order to analyze the learning process in the short and medium term, undergraduate and postgraduate students have been chosen. Moreover, possible lack of previous knowledge, degree of comprehension and retention and influence of the teaching modality (theoretical or practical) are also explored.

Reinforcement Learning (RL) is a powerful tool that has been used to solve increasingly complex tasks. RL operates through repeated interactions of the learning agent with the environment, via trial and error. However, this learning process is extremely slow, requiring many interactions. In this thesis, we leverage previous knowledge so as to accelerate learning in multiagent RL problems. We propose knowledge reuse both from previous tasks and from other agents. Several flexible methods are introduced so that each of these two types of knowledge reuse is possible. This thesis adds important steps towards more flexible and broadly applicable multiagent transfer learning methods.

The teaching and learning process is rapidly becoming technology driven with the integration of digital learning using of online learning platforms to facilitate instructional delivery. Google classroom learning platform is one of the effective ways of enhancing student active engagement in an online learning environment. The purpose of this study is to examine the impacts of Google classroom as an online learning delivery platform in secondary school during the COVID-19 pandemic in Nigeria. A mixed method approach was used in the study. Online questionnaire on Google Classroom Attitude Scale (GCAS) was used and online Semi-Structure Interview Guide (SSIG) developed by the researcher for data collection on the students’ perceptions on Google classroom. The researcher used Statistical Package of Social Science programme to calculate and analyse arithmetic mean, standard deviation and t-test. Content analysis was used for analysis of qualitative data. The participants were 140. The results showed that Google classroom platform as an online learning delivery positively affected students' academic achievement, attitudes and their perception during the pandemic in Nigeria’s secondary school. Based on the findings of the study, it was recommended that education stakeholders should effectively prepare students for the use of this platform for their learning activities during the pandemic. The platform is capable of assisting both students and teachers to connect, work together, create assignments, grade students and post learning materials. Likewise, students can also ask questions about the areas they do not understand. Hence, the advantages of the platform can be brought into usage for achieving quality in the teaching and learning process at all levels of education during the pandemic.

Relatar a vivência docente e discente e suas percepções sobre o ensino remoto na enfermagem frente à pandemia da COVID-19. Trata-se de um relato de experiência a respeito do ensino remoto emergencial, experienciado por discentes e docentes do curso superior de enfermagem em meio a pandemia pela COVID-19. A forma de adesão das aulas remotas deu-se mediante a plataformas digitais de acesso on-line com a criação de ambientes de sala de aula por chamadas de vídeo em tempo real. A modalidade de ensino remoto trouxe consigo aspectos positivos bem como desafios importantes acerca do processo de aprendizagem em enfermagem. A experiência com o ensino remoto em meio a pandemia do COVID-19 tem demonstrado inúmeros desafios para formação do enfermeiro, porém é considerada uma alternativa temporária de caráter emergencial eficaz para minimização de danos sociais e educacionais no período crítico atual.Descritores: Educação em Enfermagem, Enfermagem, Ensino, Pandemias. Remote teaching in nursing among the covid-19 pandemicAbstract: To report the teaching and student experience and their perceptions about remote teaching in nursing in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. This is an experience report about emergency remote education, experienced by students and professors of higher education in the midst of a pandemic by COVID-19. The form of adherence to remote classes took place through digital platforms for online access with the creation of classroom environments by video calls in real time. The remote teaching modality brought with it positive aspects as well as important challenges regarding the learning process in nursing. Based on the importance of a comprehensive professional training, this research aims at observing and describing the learning process achieved through the hidden curriculum of students enrolled in the Neuropediatrics Specialization Program at Universidad Nacional de Colombia in 2012 y 2013.A qualitative study to explore students’ training, transmission of attitudes, values and ethical aspects was performed through the implementation of a semi-structured interview and a focal group.For this group of students, learning through the hidden curriculum is real and educational, allows having a better approach to patients and acquiring appropriate tools for a successful job performance. Nevertheless, it is still insufficient to address ethical dilemmas such as delivery of bad news and patients’ deaths. Thus, complementing this type of learning with explicit training on bioethics is required.

The research stood out for a didactic reflection that meets the need for experimental constructions in the classroom, with concrete materials to assist in the process of teaching and learning geometry in elementary school. In this sense of attributing an analysis to this problem, we have as axis, mathematics education, as a way to stimulate students for the development of workshops in which they aimed at the construction of didactic materials as a process of learning mathematics. The process of constructing the concept of geometry that attribute the skills and competencies to be developed in the students at this stage, allowed the same to develop a particular type of thought to understand, describe and represent, in an organized way, the geometric spaces, informing the importance that this content has in their social life as a citizen. Through the construction of geometric figures with manipulated materials, we study all the concepts of the figure, through this tool, thus stimulating the interest and motivation of the students, providing them with geometric and mathematical reasoning. The definitions of geometry can be constructed successively, taking as a basis the previous knowledge of the students or not, in which we highlight that educators should create activities in which students make inquiries of situations related to geometric dimensions, thus having experiences of meaning and direction of themselves and of some figure inserted in the space. However, for the absorption of this teaching and learning process, in addition to presenting theories to the students, it was necessary to show the geometric figures by their physical characteristics, that is, in such a way that nature provides us and not only by its properties and defined concepts. Finally, the research allowed us to analyze the intellectual capacity of each student selected for this purpose.

This study aimed at finding out how the cultural model of berasanan and its implementation in civics learning, as well as knowing how the cultural model of berasanan can increase learning motivation in Secondary School class VII. A South Indralaya. The research was classroom action research (CAR) which done in two cycles. The first cycle was conducted three times and the second cycle was held twice. The subjects of this study were 29 students. The steps of each cycle include planning, action, observation, evaluation and reflection. The data were collected by using test, questionnaire, observation sheet, and documentation methods. The results of the study showed that students’ learning motivation experienced an increase in the learning process from cycle one to the second cycle. Students’ attention during the learning process, cooperation in working on group assignments, students’ participation, and courage to think showed that learning activities are increased. Negative activities of students’ learning civics were asking permission to go to the bathroom. This change showed that the interest and enthusiasm of students’ learning was increased and learning was more effective and enjoyable. Achievement of students’ learning outcomes also showed an increase, students’ learning from the first cycle of 75% increased to 86.2% in the second cycle.
