Determination of the stiffness specification is essential to subsequent structure design of a hydropress. Through the analysis of the press-die-workpiece system, it is found that the forming precision of the workpiece is significantly affected by the deflection of the lower beam of press frame. According to this finding, a mapping model between the forming precision of the workpiece and the stiffness of the lower beam is established. With this mapping model, the forming precision of the workpiece can be mapped into the stiffness requirement of the lower beam to form the stiffness specification of the hydropress frame.

The chip-forming precision machining process plays a significant role in the mechanical technology. In planning of machining operation, it is crucial to supply the information about the possible minimal value of the machining allowance. For the technologist, when planning the machining operation, it is important to define the minimal thickness of cutting layer correctly. This article presents a new method of describing the start of decohesion process in a workpiece, meaning the determination of the minimal thickness of cutting layer based on the AE signal generated in the cutting zone. The research conducted on the turning of an alloy steel and the analysis of the AE signal strength confirmed that the proposed method opens new possibilities in quickening the identification of the minimal thickness of cutting layer under normal machining conditions.

Col. James begins by observing, that as the Royal Society has, from the very commencement of the Ordnance Survey of the United Kingdom, taken a deep interest in its progress, he has great pleasure in announcing to the Society that all the computations connected with the Primary Triangulation, the measurement of the Arcs of Meridians and the determination of the figure and dimensions of the earth are now completed, and that the account of all the operations and calculations which have been undertaken and executed is now in the press, and will shortly be in the hands of the public. In the progress of these operations it has been found, on determining the most probable spheroid from all the astronomical and geodetic amplitudes in Great Britain, that the plumb-line is considerably deflected at several of the principal Trigonometrical Stations, and at almost every station the cause of the deflection is apparent in the configuration of the surrounding country.

Abstract Following the attempt by Alesina and Guiliano (2013) to measure global culture and to project these measurements onto real choropleth geographical world maps, we utilize the data from the World Values Survey (WVS) to arrive at robust measurement scales of global economic, political and social values and to assess Turkey’s place within them. Our study, which is based on 92,289 representative individuals with complete data in 68 countries, representing 56.89% of the global population, looks at hard-core economic values in these countries. From our new nine dimensions for the determination of the geography of human values, based on a promax factor analysis of the available data, we use six factor analytical scores to calculate a new Global Value Development Index, which combines: avoiding economic permissiveness; avoiding racism; avoiding distrust of the army and the press; avoiding the authoritarian character; tolerance and respect; and avoiding the rejection of the market economy and democracy. Turkey is ranked 25, ahead of several EU member countries. But there are still considerable deficits concerning the liberal values components, which are very important for effective democracy, and there are very large regional differences, confirming the dictum by Huntington (1996) about Turkey as a torn country.

Abstract Pressure is an important process parameter that greatly influences the density of biomass pellets. The positive number of Poisson’s ratio of biomasses makes pelletising possible in ring die and flat die types of pelletisers, because as a consequence of the longitudinal direction of load, the material strains into the radial direction. The radial strain is obstructed by the channel wall and therefore radial pressure and wall friction occur, which supports (backs) the compression of the further sequentially loaded biomass. A novel test device consisting of a single pelletising unit and a novel sensor, a back pressure measurement disc was developed and calibrated. Pelletising experiments were carried out with a flat die pelletising machine and with the single pelletiser unit with ground post agglomerated (GPA)-spelt chaff (chaff of triticum spelta) samples. The body density and radial pressure values in different pelletising unit segments were measured. The equations introduced for dimensionless relative density and for radial pressure as a function of the relative position equations fit the measured data well.

The highway guardrail is the last secure defense which can protect the driver and passenger safety and make the vehicles along the original correct direction when out of control. Collision simulation between vehicle and semi-rigid waveform beam guardrail was achieved. Collision model was given and dimension optimization of the semi-rigid waveform beam guardrail was completed. Dynamic explicit finite element method was applied to simulate and analyze collision process. Optimized height of the lower beam and thickness of the upper and lower beams were obtained, which helped save material, solve the tripping phenomenon and increase safety property of the highway guardrail.

Mechanical pressing is one of the most widely used methods of separating oil from oil plants. Screw press is a typical oil extraction equipment adopting this method. In which the pressing chamber is a core component, and the press cage, as a main part of it, whose strength is a precondition to ensure normal operation of the screw press. Comparing with the complexity and drawbacks of traditional analyzing and checking methods, here, computer aided analysis was used to make stress analysis. A simplified 3-D model of the press cage was built, and the finite analysis was conducted by ANSYS software. Then, the continuous deformation and stress distribution of the cage were obtained. The results can provide a good reference to the improvement and optimization of its structure design

This research is the result of library research conducted on the basis of problems that have often occurred recently, where the press has started to interfere too far in cases currently being handled by the judiciary, or rather the press has committed acts of Sub Judice Rule. This study aims to answer the questions, namely 1. What is the criminal sanction for the sub-judice rule according to Article 18 Paragraph (2) of Law Number 40 Year 1999 concerning the Press? 2. What is the criminal sanction for the sub-judice rule according to Islamic Criminal Law? The author, with the above problems, then studies and researches to solve these problems with library research using the descriptive method used to describe the concept of the sub-judice rule criminal act in Article 18 paragraph (2) of Law Number 40 of 1999 about the press. Furthermore, it is analyzed with a Deductive mindset that originates from basic principles and is combined with research using the perspective of Islamic Criminal Law. It is analyzed for specific conclusions regarding the general description of the sub-judice rule by the press according to Law No. 40 of 1999 concerning the press then draw conclusions that are specific to Islamic criminal law. The conclusion from the results of this study can be seen that the sanctions for criminal acts of the sub-judice rule contained in Article 18 paragraph (2) of Law Number 40 of 1999 concerning the press, namely, shall be punished with a maximum fine of Rp. 500,000,000.00 (Five hundred million rupiah). Sub-judice rule is a criminal act of insulting the court by means of publication, which in this case is classified as a takzir, because neither the type nor the sanctions are determined by the syarak, so that the determination of the penalty is fully left to Ulil Amri.

The Bureau of the Gynecological Society instructed me, as an expert on the Petrovich case, to examine this case in today's public meeting. Taking into account, on the one hand, the fact that Dr. Petrovich is one of our members and that the determination of his moral guilt on a professional issue, drawn up not on the basis of subjective interpretations, which is full of the court's opinion, the opinion of the press and public opinion, but on the basis of strict and objective verification of Petrovich's actions should be of interest to the Gynecological Society, and on the other hand, having in mind the broad generalization of conclusions from this case in relation to doctors, as the prosecutor did in his speech and as the press does to this day, I I willingly took on this task and I want to share with you, gentlemen, my views on this matter and ask you to give your competent opinion on the issues that I will have the honor to pose and the resolution of which should clarify the guilt or lack thereof of Piotrovich.
