The purpose of this study was to develop a preschool classroom management development model based on four dimensions of classroom management. The four key dimensions that focuses on preschool classroom management model are physical classroom management, planning management and implementation of programs/activities, classroom behaviour management and relationship and interaction management. The physical environment and layout of the preschool classroom managed by the preschool teachers still do not encourage children's learning. The learning materials provided are also not suitable and not used for teaching and learning purposes. Therefore, the study aims to identify the needs of preschool teachers in managing preschool classrooms. The needs analysis will enable the development of a classroom management model based on four dimensions of classroom management. This study uses design and development research approaches involving the needs analysis phase, the design and model development phase and the usability evaluation model phase. The findings of the interview in needs analysis phase shows that the preschool classroom environment was managed in its own way and no guidance or model was used. In conclusion, the researcher recommends needs analysis to be conducted toward KEMAS undergraduate teachers, Unity (Perpaduan) kindergarten teachers and also those who are coming from private kindergartens.

<p>This study aimed at designing a model of instructional materials for Academic Writing Course focusing on research paper writing. The model was designed based on the Curriculum at the English Education Study Program, Faculty of Language and Art Education of IKIP PGRI Bojonegoro, East Java, Indonesia. This model was developed in order to improve students’ skill in writing research paper which is one of the prerequisite tasks before graduating from university. The steps of this research and development consist of needs analysis, document analysis, model design, model development, and model experimentation. The researchers conducted needs analysis to the fifth semester students and three academic writing teachers, in order to generate information dealing with the students’ needs in academic writing course materials. The needs analysis and documents analysis were dug up through questionnaire, interview, and discussion among students and academic writing teachers. The documents analyzed in this study were syllabus, lesson plan, and the existing textbook. The model design used is derived from Borg and Gall (1983) and Sukmadinata (2008), in which there are four steps, i.e. (1) exploration phase; (2) model development phase; (3) model experimentation phase; and (4) dissemination and model implementation phase. The results of needs analysis questionnaire reveal that students need to be taught how to write academic writing in terms of journal article since it will be the final project of the students at the end of their study in university. Instructional materials with different strategies focused on research paper writing are needed by the students.</p>

Kata kunci: pengembangan model, manajemen, Unit Produksi SMK THE DEVELOPMENT OF PRODUCTION UNIT MANAGEMENT MODEL OF CLOTHING DESIGN STUDY PROGRAM AT VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOLS IN SLEMAN REGENCY Abstract One of the crucial problems faced by vocational education was that the graducate compentencies had not match the qualification criteria of the student’s ability based on the predetermined standards. Among the factual constraints was that many vocational high schools (SMK) had not possessed a training center which would enable the students to conduct industrial work practice. This study aimed to: (1) determine the factors inhibiting the implementation of the function of the Production Unit; (2) yield production unit management model appropriate to apply; and (3) determine the appropriateness of the production unit management model at SMK. This was a research and development study consisting of three stages: research and information collection, model planning, and model development. The study was conducted in SMK Negeri 1 Depok, SMK 2 Godean, Karya Rini Vocational School, and SMK Muhammadiyah Berbah. The research data were collected using in-depth interviews and observation. The results showed that: (1) the implementation of the production unit management clothing design study program still faced some obstacles; (2) the research generated a management model that deserved to be applied in the clothing design study program. The model suggested two components: a production unit as a source of learning and a production unit as a source of funding; and (3) the result of the internal try-out conducted on the management of vocational high schools consisting of SMK Negeri 1 Depok, SMK 2 Godean, SMK Karya Rini, and SMK Muhammadiyah Berbah concluded that 85% of the management agreed that this model would be effective if it was implemented. Keywords: model development, management, production unit of vocational high schools
