Optimised Design of Mold for Vehicle Throttle Body Bracket Based on CAE

The throttle body bracket is a structure to support and fix the throttle body. Its quality not only affects the performance of the throttle body, but also affects the running performance of car. Excellent mould is important guarantee for quality of the throttle body bracket. In this paper, mould of vehicle throttle body bracket is taken as research object. Methods combining structural design, simulation analysis with optimization design are adopted. First, process and structure of the bracket are analysed. Three plate mould structure and single-impression layout are determined. Based on mould flow optimization analysis, gate type and location are selected, structural dimensions of forming parts are calculated to design the side core pulling mechanism, remoulding mechanism and cooling system. Simulation analysis for filling time, weld line location, cavitation, cooling effect and warpage deformation are carried out by CAE to realise the optimal design of mould for the throttle body bracket.

Applied FLUENT simulation software to research the influence of tunnel length, tunnel entrance velocity, tunnel equivalent diameter and tunnel buried depth four important factors on the tunnel wind cooling system in Shenyang area. The results show that, with the increase of tunnel length and tunnel buried depth and with the decrease of tunnel entrance velocity and tunnel equivalent diameter, the outdoor air which passed into the tunnel cooling amplitude increases. For the tunnel wind cooling system optimization design in Shenyang area and the surrounding areas, the advices are that tunnel buried depth should not be more than 6m and tunnel entrance velocity should not be more than 5m/s.

The gating system of an injection mold for car bumper was studied. A design optimization scheme is proposed to optimize both the number and locations of the gates by analyzing the filling process, in order to reduce the part war page and weld line, numerical simulation of injection mold filling process is combined with the design optimization method to find the optimum number of gates and their locations to achieve balanced f low and less weld lines while satisfying the limit of injection pressure. Moldflow software was applied to make analysis and comparison of various gating system in terms of their filling time, injection pressure and clamp force, weld line and distribution of air traps, and an optimized gating system was obtained. The result shows that this method can effectively reduce costs, shorten development cycle and improve the efficiency of molding design.

Based on some kind of transfer robot, conduct virtual assembly and kinematic simulation analysis on transfer robot by using NX software, thus to instruct the practical assembly and control of the robot. Analyze the poor movement stability of robot, point out its flaws of inertial impact and short rigidity. Conduct structural analysis on the original model by using NX software, verify the analytical conclusions, and carry out structural optimization design on the model to improve the products structure.

The 3D models of gating system, ejection mechanisms and cooling system of the swtich shell for injection mold are designed by using Pro/ENGINEER software. MOLDFLOW is utilized for CAE analysis. Three schemes are obtained by changing the gate location during the injection molding process. After comparing the volume shrinkage during injection, shrink marks index, filling time and the injection pressure, the best scheme is obtained. According to the optimal scheme, the injection mold is designed. The results showed that simulation analysis method can not only improve the successful probability of mold trial, but also shorten the production development cycle of developing product.

In this paper, circulating box cover is taken as the main object of the study with the application of Taguchi design of experiment and Moldflow software. The warpage deformation was obtained under different molding conditions including melt temperature, mold temperature, filling time and packing time. The influencing degree and trend of these parameters was studied by using the rang analysis, and the optimization set of factors was obtained. Experimental results show that the optimization design is effective and the warpage of the product reduce.

The sunflower oil that has rich nutritional value is high-quality nutrition oil. The quality of oil products was impacted seriously by a lot of harmful substances that contained in sunflower seed shell. The characteristic of sunflower seeds are the kernel is smaller and the shell density is large. The shelling operation is quite difficult with the characteristic. The shelling devices for the sunflower seeds based on optimization design method and dynamics analysis is introduced in the paper. The shelling devices for the sunflower seeds can be used in the place of processing factory and individual workshop. The structure of shelling devices was designed with the 3d modeling software. In the research, the virtual prototype technology was used to simulate the kinematics and dynamics characteristics of the mechanical system. The feasibility of the design scheme of mechanical system was proved with the simulation analysis results. The equipment has advantages of the structure is compact, safe and reliable, easy to use. The research of the shelling devices for sunflower seeds can be regarded as the reference of the related research.

The effect of mould temperature on warpage using water and oil as coolant fluid was studied using flow software analysis. Mould temperature was controlled using two types of coolants; where cold mould was controlled by water and hot mould was controlled by oil. The simulation analysis was performed using flow software analysis Moldflow Plastics Insight (MPI). Taguchi method was used to design the planning matrix and to find the optimum levels of input variables. Then, to find the percentage contribution of input variables on output variables, analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used. It is found that mould temperature controlled by water shows less warpage analysis compared to oil. The minimum and maximum percentage of warpage analysis between cold mould and hot mould are 3.1% and 7.1% respectively. In addition, ANOVA analysis shows that the most significant parameters affected the warpage analysis for both moulds using oil and water are melt temperature (255°C) followed by mould temperature (water 15°C and oil 70°C) and cooling time (water 8s and oil 6s). Thus, it shows that coolant medium used in mould cooling system contributes the quality of plastic parts.

In this paper, the effect of driving system on working performance of electromagnetic integrated scanning micromirror (ISM) is studied. To further improve the optimization design of the electromagnetic ISM, the detailed theoretical analysis, simulation analysis, and experimental test are carried out, respectively. By changing the force form and external magnetic field of the device, the mechanical scanning angle, driving voltage, and resonant frequency of the electromagnetic ISM will be changed accordingly, and then the change of the working performance of the ISM is explored. Through the optimization analysis and comparative test, the optimal design scheme of driving system is obtained, and the effect of driving system on the working performance of the electromagnetic ISM is verified. The experimental results show that by optimizing the structure of the driving system, the mechanical scanning angle of the electromagnetic ISM is increased by about 20%, and the driving voltage is decreased about 10% observably, and the working performance of the electromagnetic ISM is significantly improved. The research results have important significance and practical application value for the extended application of the electromagnetic ISM in the field of optical detection.

In the paper, the injection process of mold sleeve is simulated with Moldflow software, and the filling time, cavitation, weld, and causes warping are analyzed. The warping effects on the workpiece surface quality. Moldflow software can optimize gating system and shorten the fill time, improve the quality of plastic surface, reduce the number of repair mode, and shorten the product development cycle.
