The study investigated awareness and use of cloud computing; its implications by libraries in selected academic libraries in Imo State, Nigeria. Four research questions were asked and answered. Also, three hypotheses were formulated and tested at 0.05 significance level. Survey research design was adopted. The total population of the study was 53 librarians, comprising professional staff of the library in Imo State University, Owerri, Federal Polytechnic, Nekede and Alvan Ikoku Federal College of Education, Owerri. The sample size was the entire population; hence the census enumeration sampling technique was employed. Rating scale was used for data collection. Data collected were presented in tables and column charts, and analyzed using mean, standard deviation. Testing of hypotheses was done using F-ratio (ANOVA) at the significance level of 0.05. Findings reveal that there is certain level of awareness on cloud computing technologies and models in the libraries studied. It was also discovered that cloud computing technology were used by libraries in the institutions studied, and economy of resource cost effectiveness and file sharing are some of the major positive implications of librarians adoption cloud computing technologies. However security and privacy, multiple taxation were also identified as major negative implications of cloud computing adoption by the librarians in discharging their functions in the libraries. Based on these findings, recommendations were made.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to examine the determinants of cloud computing adoption in small and medium enterprises (SMEs), further, to measure the effect of cloud computing adoption on cloud-supported firm performance through enhancing organisational agility. Design/methodology/approach The research model is developed by combining two popular theoretical models, namely, the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT) and the technology–organisation–environment (TOE) framework. Data are collected from 372 SMEs to test the model. The strengths of widely used structural equation modelling (SEM) are applied to analyse the data. Findings This study reveals that the significant predictors of cloud computing adoption are performance expectancy; effort expectancy; absorptive capacity; data security and privacy; and perceived trust. Also, cloud computing adoption positively influences firm performance directly and through organisational agility. The results of importance–performance map analysis indicate that effort expectancy falls in the critical zone, which needs to be improved. Originality/value This research is one of few that blends the strengths of UTAUT and TOE framework. The research outcomes yield noteworthy suggestions to cloud providers, managers and government policymakers on ways of motivating the spread of cloud computing in developing countries.

Purpose of the study: This study aims to investigate the internal and external factors for CC adoption decisions of companies in Izmir, Turkey using a combination of DOI and TOE models. Methodology: This is a confirmatory survey of businesses, forming a questionnaire for 176 IT decision-makers of non-cloud or cloud user businesses in the city of Izmir in Turkey. SmartPLS 3.0 software is used to assess the determinants affecting cloud computing adoption. Main Findings: The study identified relative advantage, compatibility, complexity, and top management support, using security and privacy concerns and cost savings as mediating variables of relative advantage for CC adoption. The survey results indicated that complexity and top management supports are significantly important for efficient CC adoption. The model explained 41.2 percent of CC adoption. Applications of this study: The study is believed to be useful in fields including business development for most sectors, computing, cloud providers as well as researchers on business administration, sales, marketing, and IT infrastructure. Particularly this study and the suggested framework will help companies and businesses adopt CC appropriately. Moreover, as suggested in the study, governments can use such frameworks when encouraging cloud providers to support companies in their decision making and transition periods for CC adoption. Novelty/Originality of this study: This study will undoubtedly contribute to the decision making processes of the companies for CC adoption. Through the integrated in-depth analysis of the factors that affect the adoption decisions in an industrial region of Turkey, the study will also provide valuable data for the researchers and businesses within similar company personas.

In the last years, a new technology called Cloud computing has been developed. Empirical and previous studies, commonly examined in business field and other domains. In this study, the significant factors that affecting the adoption of cloud computing have been examined using a frequency analysis that have been explored by  the previous  studies. The results showed that the most effected factors were relative advantage which followed by security and privacy, complexity, innovativeness, and external support. In this study the model of technology-organization-environment was used to examine the significant factors that affecting the adoption of cloud computing.

Cloud Computing allows firms to outsource their entire information technology (IT) process, allowing them to concentrate more on their core business to enhance their productivity and innovation in offering services to customers. It allows businesses to cut down heavy cost incurred over IT infrastructure without losing focus on customer needs. However, to a certain limit adopting Cloud computing has struggled to grow among many established and growing organizations due to several security and privacy related issues. Throughout the course of this study several interviews were conducted, with cloud developers and security experts, and the literature was reviewed. This study enabled us to understand, current and future, security and privacy challenges with cloud computing by providing suitable solutions to identified challenges. The outcome of this study led to identification of total 18, current and future, security issues affecting several attributes of cloud computing. In this process of identification, the author also found mitigation techniques to avert these security issues. A security guide is formulated which enables organizations to be aware of security challenges, vulnerabilities and techniques to evade them.

Cloud-based technology, which is now well established, helps in reducing costs and providing accessibility, reliability and flexibility. However, the Yemen higher educational institutions (HEIs) have not yet embraced the technology due to security and privacy concerns, lack of trust, negative cultural attitudes (i.e., tribalism), and most importantly, lack of digital devices experience in educational settings as well as lack of knowledge and technical know-how. Thus, this study proposes a conceptual model of cloud computing adoption in Yemen HEIs by investigating the influence of technology, organization and environment (TOE) factors. In addition, this study investigates the moderating effect of tribalism culture in the relationships between the identified factors and cloud computing adoption. The study employed the quantitative approach to determine the factors that influence cloud computing adoption in Yemen HEIs through a questionnaire survey. Data were collected from 328 respondents in 38 HEIs and analyzed using partial least square (PLS) structural equation modelling (SEM). The results indicate that relative advantage, reliability, compatibility, security, technology readiness, top management support, regulatory policy and competitive pressure have positive significant impacts on the cloud computing adoption, except tribalism culture with negative significant impact. The study also found that tribalism culture moderates the relationship between compatibility, reliability, security, relative advantage, regulatory policy and cloud computing adoption. This study contributes to the TOE adoption model by including the cultural factor as a moderator towards cloud computing adoption in Yemen HEIs. The study also provides a model and insights for HEIs, technology consultants, vendors and policy makers in better understanding of the factors that influence cloud computing adoption in least developed countries (LDCs), specifically, Yemen.

Head injury is one of the main causes of death and disability, so far pharmacologic treatment is used to treat the pain. The researcher tried to provide treatment with listening to murottal Al-Qur'an therapy so that was able to reduce pain due to head injury. The aim was to determine the effect of listening to murottal Al-Qur'an therapy on the reduction in pain scale of head injury patients in the operating room of Ulin Hospital of Banjarmasin. The design was Quasy_Experimental with One Group Pretest-Postest. The population were all patients of head injury in operating room and the sampling technique used purposive sampling. The instrument used a questionnaire sheet. The measurement of the Numerical Rating Scale (NRS) used univariate analysis and bivariate analysis with the Paired T-Test. The level of moderate pain scale before listening mostly amounted to 15 (100%) people, after doing therapy there were 13 (86.7%) people with mild pain. There was an influence of listening to murottal Al-Qur'an on the reduction of the pain scale of head injury patients in operating room. The hypothesis is accepted at the significance level of 0.000 <0.05. Cloud Computing is the most advanced technical platform for next generation. Cloud Computing provide us a large range of data storage space in web source. Cloud Computing work automatically as per the need of user we don’t need to do extra work on it. High level applications and game is run by Cloud Computing. It simply states that cloud computing means storing and accessing the data and programs over the internet rather than the computer’s hard disk. Cloud Computing cover the wide range of areas. It provides its service through online net connection. The data can be anything such as music, files, images, documents, and more. The user can access the data from anywhere just with the help of an internet connection. To use cloud computing, the user should register and provide with ID and password for security reasons. The speed of transfer depends on various factors such as the capacity of the server, internet speed, and many more. In this paper, we explore the understanding the determinates of security and privacy in cloud computing, Cloud Computing architecture and we also address the characteristics and applications of several popular cloud computing platforms. We identified several challenges from the cloud computing adoption perspective and we also highlighted the cloud interoperability issue that deserves substantial further research and development. However, security and privacy issues present a strong barrier for users to adapt into cloud computing systems.

New national infrastructure initiatives such as National Broadband Network (NBN) could enable Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in Australia to further embrace Cloud computing service. However, the ability of Cloud computing to store data remotely and share services in a dynamic environment bring along with it Cloud security and privacy concerns. In this study, we examined the influence of privacy and security factors on Cloud adoption by Australian SMEs through a questionnaire survey. Data was collected from 150 SMEs (i.e. 79 metropolitan SMEs and 71 regional SMEs) and structural equation modelling was used for data analysis. The findings show that Cloud privacy and security factors are not the most critical concern for Australian SMEs. Moreover, the results indicate that Cloud computing adoption is not influenced by the geographical location of the SMEs. This study extends the current understanding of Cloud computing adoption by Australian SMEs.
