International audience We present the method of aggregation of variables in the case of ordinary differential equations. We apply the method to a prey - predator model in a multi - patchy environment. In this model, preys can go to a refuge and therefore escape to predation. The predator must return regularly to his terrier to feed his progeny. We study the effect of density-dependent migration on the global stability of the prey-predator system. We consider constant migration rates, but also density-dependent migration rates. We prove that the positif equilibrium is globally asymptotically stable in the first case, and that its stability changes in the second case. The fact that we consider density-dependent migration rates leads to the existence of a stable limit cycle via a Hopf bifurcation. Nous présentons les grandes lignes de laméthode d'agrégation des variables dans les systèmes d'équations différentielles ordinaires. Nous appliquons laméthode à un modèle proie-prédateur spatialisé. Dans ce modèle, les proies peuvent échapper à la prédation en se réfugiant sur un site. Le prédateur doit aussi retourner régulièrement dans son terrier pour nourrir sa progéniture. Nous étudions les effets de migration dépendant de la densité des populations sur la stabilité globale du système proie-prédateur. Nous considérons des taux de migration constants, puis densité-dépendants. Dans le cas de taux constants il existe un équilibre positif toujours stable alors que dans le cas de taux de migration densité-dépendants, il existe un cycle limite stable via une bifurcation de Hopf.

In this paper we have considered a prey-predator model with Holling type of predation and independent harvesting in either species. The purpose of the work is to offer mathematical analysis of the model and to discuss some significant qualitative results that are expected to arise from the interplay of biological forces. Our study shows that, using the harvesting efforts as controls, it is possible to break the cyclic behaviour of the system and drive it to a required state. Also it is possible to introduce globally stable limit cycle in the system using the above controls.

International audience The Rosenzweig-MacArthur model is a system of two ODEs used in population dynamics to modelize the predator-prey relationship. For certain values of the parameters the differential system exhibits a unique stable limit cycle. When the dynamics of the prey is faster than the dynamics of the predator, during oscillations along the limit cycle, the density of preys take so small values that it cannot modelize any actual population. This phenomenon is known as the "atto-fox" problem. In this paper we assume that the populations are living in two patches and are able to migrate from one patch to another. We give conditions for which the migration can prevent the density of prey being too small. Le modèle de Rosenzweig-MacArthur est un système de deux équations différentielles utilisé en dynamique des populations pour modéliser la relation entre un prédateur et sa proie. Pour certaines valeurs des paramètres le système différentiel possède un cycle limite unique stable. Lorsque la dynamique de la proie est plus rapide que celle du prédateur, durant les oscillations le long du cycle, la densité des proies atteint des valeurs tellement petites qu'elle ne peut modéliser une situation issue du monde réel. Ce phénomène est connu sous le nom du problème "atto-fox". Dans cet article on suppose que les populations sont réparties entre deux patches et qu'elles peuvent migrer de l'un à l'autre. Nous donnons des conditions qui assurent que la migration va empêcher la densité des proies de devenir trop petite.

We investigate the dynamic behaviors of a two-prey one-predator system with stage structure and birth pulse for predator. By using the Floquet theory of linear periodic impulsive equation and small amplitude perturbation method, we show that there exists a globally asymptotically stable two-prey eradication periodic solution when the impulsive period is less than some critical value. Further, we study the permanence of the investigated model. Our results provide valuable strategy for biological economics management. Numerical analysis is also inserted to illustrate the results.

A prey-predator model with gestation delay, stage structure for predator, and selective harvesting effort on mature predator is proposed, where taxation is considered as a control instrument to protect the population resource in prey-predator biosystem from overexploitation. It shows that interior equilibrium is locally asymptotically stable when the gestation delay is zero, and there is no periodic orbit within the interior of the first quadrant of state space around the interior equilibrium. An optimal harvesting policy can be obtained by virtue of Pontryagin's Maximum Principle without considering gestation delay; on the other hand, the interior equilibrium of model system loses as gestation delay increases through critical certain threshold, a phenomenon of Hopf bifurcation occurs, and a stable limit cycle corresponding to the periodic solution of model system is also observed. Finally, numerical simulations are carried out to show consistency with theoretical analysis.

In this paper we have studied the dynamical behaviours of a delayed two-species competitive system affected by toxicant with imprecise biological parameters. We have proposed a method to handle these imprecise parameters by using parametric form of interval numbers. We have discussed the existence of various equilibrium points and stability of the system at these equilibrium points. In case of toxic stimulatory system, the delay model exhibits a stable limit cycle oscillation. Computer simulations are carried out to illustrate our analytical findings.

In this paper, a mathematical model consisting of a prey-predator system incorporating infectious disease in the prey has been proposed and analyzed. It is assumed that the predator preys upon the nonrefugees prey only according to the modified Holling type-II functional response. There is a harvesting process from the predator. The existence and uniqueness of the solution in addition to their bounded are discussed. The stability analysis of the model around all possible equilibrium points is investigated. The persistence conditions of the system are established. Local bifurcation analysis in view of the Sotomayor theorem is carried out. Numerical simulation has been applied to investigate the global dynamics and specify the effect of varying the parameters. It is observed that the system has a chaotic dynamics.

Abstract: In this paper we study the stability of one of a non linear autoregressive model with trigonometric term  by using local linearization method proposed by Tuhro Ozaki .We find the singular point ,the stability of the singular point and the limit cycle. We conclude  that the proposed model under certain conditions have a non-zero singular point which is  a asymptotically salable ( when  0 ) and have an  orbitaly stable limit cycle . International audience The objective of this study is to analyze a model of the chemostat involving the attachment and detachment dynamics of planktonic and aggregated biomass in the presence of a single resource. Considering the mortality of species, we give a complete analysis for the existence and local stability of all steady states for general monotonic growth rates. The model exhibits a rich set of behaviors with a multiplicity of coexistence steady states, bi-stability, and occurrence of stable limit cycles. Moreover, we determine the operating diagram which depicts the asymptotic behavior of the system with respect to control parameters. It shows the emergence of a bi-stability region through a saddle-node bifurcation and the occurrence of coexistence region through a transcritical bifurcation. Finally, we illustrate the importance of the mortality on the destabilization of the microbial ecosystem by promoting the washout of species. L'objectif de cette étude est d'analyser un modèle du chémostat impliquant la dynamique d'attachement et de détachement de la biomasse planctonique et agrégée en présence d'une seule ressource. En considérant la mortalité des espèces, nous donnons une analyse complète de l'existence et de la stabilité locale de tous les équilibres pour des taux de croissance monotones. Le modèle pré-sente un ensemble riche de comportements avec multiplicité d'équilibres de coexistence, bi-stabilité et apparition des cycles limites stables. De plus, nous déterminons le diagramme opératoire qui dé-crit le comportement asymptotique du système par rapport aux paramètres de contrôle. Il montre l'émergence d'une région de bi-stabilité via une bifurcation noeud col et l'occurrence d'une région de coexistence via une bifurcation transcritique. Enfin, nous illustrons l'importance de la mortalité sur la déstabilisation de l'écosystème microbien en favorisant le lessivage des espèces.

The problem of finite-time stabilization for a Leslie-Gower prey – predator system through a bounded control input is solved. We use Korobov’s controllability function. The trajectory of the resulting motion is ensured for fulfilling a physical restriction that prey and predator cannot achieve negative values. For this purpose, a certain ellipse depending on given data and the equilibrium point of the considered system is constructed. Simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed control methodology.

It was shown in [Li & Xiao, 2007] that in a predator–prey model of Leslie type with simplified Holling type IV functional response some complex bifurcations can occur simultaneously for some values of parameters, such as codimension 1 subcritical Hopf bifurcation and codimension 2 Bogdanov–Takens bifurcation. In this paper, we show that for the same model there exists a unique degenerate positive equilibrium which is a degenerate Bogdanov–Takens singularity (focus case) of codimension 3 for other values of parameters. We prove that the model exhibits degenerate focus type Bogdanov–Takens bifurcation of codimension 3 around the unique degenerate positive equilibrium. Numerical simulations, including the coexistence of three hyperbolic positive equilibria, two limit cycles, bistability states (one stable equilibrium and one stable limit cycle, or two stable equilibria), tristability states (two stable equilibria and one stable limit cycle), a stable limit cycle enclosing a homoclinic loop, a homoclinic loop enclosing an unstable limit cycle, or a stable limit cycle enclosing three unstable hyperbolic positive equilibria for various parameter values, confirm the theoretical results.
