The concept of good corporate governance has gaining traction over the last three decades in the private and public sectors as a response to serious financial scandals and maladministration practices in organisations around the globe. Antidotes provided in previous studies on these corporate failures attributed this to poor board compositions and inadequate separation of power. Whilst this was part of the problem, little effort was put to understand how Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) term limits could also contribute to good governance practice which would make organisations avoid scandals. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to explore how capping CEOs tenure could enhance good corporate governance in the public and private sectors. This paper is based on a qualitative approach and used content analysis to review data from published records like journal articles. This article posited that capped term limit in both the public and private sectors is ideal as it enhances good corporate governance practice which in turn will make institutions effective and responsive to changes in their operating environment.

The application of the principles of Good Corporate Governance was suppressed after economic crises in various countries in the 1990s. When observing the major financial scandals that were exposed, the public began to question the performance of the big companies involved in this scandal which went against the principles of Good Corporate Governance regarding accountability, equity, integrity, transparancy and responsibility. PT Jamkrindo is a state-owned company engaged in underwriting with program and nonprogram products. PT Jamkrindo is here to participate in elevating MSME-K actors to become more independent, develop and advance. PT Jamkrindo must implement good governance or Good Corporate Governance. This is important because so far MSMEs are not considered to need good corporate governance. Even though MSMEs contribute greatly to the Indonesian economy

<p><em>The company has a significant contribution to industrialization, which results in global warming and climate change in the world. This condition can threaten the future of the world, including in Indonesia. This study aims to examine the effect of corporate governance on the disclosure of carbon emissions in Indonesia. This study uses secondary data sourced from financial statements available at www.idnfinancials.com. The sample used in this study was a manufacturing company from 2016 to 2019. By using purposive sampling, the sample obtained in the study is 260 observations. The research data were analyzed using multiple linear regression for panel data. This study concludes that the implementation of good governance and firm size are positively associated with emission carbon disclosure. The implementation of good corporate governance can increase the transparency of information provided to the public voluntarily, including information on carbon emissions produced by companies. Besides, the large companies tend to be transparent in their carbon emissions disclosure to the public.  This research indicates that the government needs to regulate policies related to managing carbon emissions produced by companies to encourage companies to implement sustainability issues. In addition, the Financial Services Authority (OJK) needs to carry out monitoring related to the implementation of corporate governance implemented by companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. </em></p>

The regulations related to corporate governance mechanisms such as the sensitivity of pay and performance of chief executive officers, board characteristics, and watches outside of those that are well connected in related party transactions (RPTs)in Malaysia are struggling from the monitoring and enforcement of good corporate governance. The primary aims of this study are to investigate the gap that exists in Malaysian company failures due to appropriate related party transactions and to evaluate the impact of good corporate governance on shareholders' confidence in related party transaction (RPTs) disclosures from the Malaysian Accounting Standards Board (MASB) of regulations. In the year 2000, a study was done by Claessens that examined the data of 236 Malaysian public organizations. The study found the dominancy of a large block of shareholders in organizations in addition to weak institutional structures. This chapter focuses on the usage of related party transactions undertaken to benefit Malaysian companies which have led to financial reporting disclosure information.

Objective: This study analyzes the relationship between good corporate governance practices (access to information, content of published information and management structure) and the performance (measured by the profitability of the plans) of the Closed Entities of Complementary Pension Funds (Entidades Fechadas de Previdência Complementar - EFPC).Method: The sample comprises 76 EFPCs ranked among the 89 publicly funded entities and the data were collected in the Annual Information Reports (Relatórios Anuais de Informação), statutes and information on the entities' websites and in the statistical statement published by the Brazilian Association of Closed Pension Funds for the year 2017. In order to test the research hypothesis, the Multiple Linear Regression method performed with the support of STATA® software.Originality/Relevance: The relevance of EFPC is highlighted, a sector that has been growing in Brazil, mainly with the pension reform in the public and private sectors.Results: The study's evidence does not support the acceptance of the established hypotheses, which foresee a positive and significant relationship between governance practices and profitability, considering as practices the access and content of information and the structure of governance bodies. It is conjectured that the level of information disclosure and / or the governance practices analyzed may have influenced the findings.Theoretical/methodological contributions: Although the proposed relationships did not indicate statistical significance, the survey highlights the importance of good corporate governance practices in EFPC in order to achieve better results and fulfill obligations to stakeholders.

The managements of PSUs, have little autonomy and in many cases are encouraged to maintain the status quo in business strategy rather than to risk change. Major decisions are delayed or not taken at all which includes among other things, the appointment of chief executive officers. In other words, most of the basic ingredients for good governance are missing Clarity of responsibility, transparency, checks and liala11ces and accountability. Corporate governance does not seem to exist at all.

Purpose – The purpose of this article is to explain under what circumstances firm-level adoption of codes of good corporate governance will more likely be superficial rather than substantive in nature. The article contains lessons for any agency or country that attempts to implement deep and lasting changes in corporate governance via codes of good corporate governance. Design/methodology/approach – The article reviews the literature on compliance with codes of good corporate governance and develops a conceptual model to explain why some firms that have formally adopted a code of good governance decouple this policy from its actual use. Findings – Decoupling in response to the issuance of codes of good corporate governance will be more attractive to firms and also more sustainable under the following conditions: firms’ compliance costs are relatively high firms’ costs of outright and visible non-compliance are relatively high and outsiders’ compliance monitoring costs are relatively high. Originality/value – The article contributes to the debate on compliance and convergence and provides policymakers with a conceptual framework for assessing the likelihood of successful regulatory change in corporate governance.

Islamic guidance is a positive influence on humanity in numerous and diverse ways. In addition to its influence on individuals, Islamic guidance for good corporate governance provides a valuable, practical and business-relevant moral compass. For example, when a business incorporates maqasid values into its conduct, a better experience or outcome can usually be expected. Islamic guidance for humanity helps individuals lead a better life. When individuals are part of an organisation, the environment in which they interact needs to be addressed as well. While individuals should strive to be positive and contribute to the improvement of humanity, creating a suitable climate makes the striving easier and more successful. Essentially, governance is the structure, mechanism, and culture that enables good things to happen. When there is good governance, the result can be a virtuous circle where good actions get reinforced and amplified.

Background Public–private mix (PPM) programs on tuberculosis (TB) have a critical role in engaging and integrating the private sector into the national TB control efforts in order to meet the End TB Strategy targets. South Korea’s PPM program can provide important insights on the long-term impact and policy gaps in the development and expansion of PPM as a nationwide program. Methods and findings Healthcare is privatized in South Korea, and a majority (80.3% in 2009) of TB patients sought care in the private sector. Since 2009, South Korea has rapidly expanded its PPM program coverage under the National Health Insurance (NHI) scheme as a formal national program with dedicated PPM nurses managing TB patients in both the private and public sectors. Using the difference in differences (DID) analytic framework, we compared relative changes in TB treatment outcomes—treatment success (TS) and loss to follow-up (LTFU)—in the private and public sector between the 2009 and 2014 TB patient cohorts. Propensity score matching (PSM) using the kernel method was done to adjust for imbalances in the covariates between the 2 population cohorts. The 2009 cohort included 6,195 (63.0% male, 37.0% female; mean age: 42.1) and 27,396 (56.1% male, 43.9% female; mean age: 45.7) TB patients in the public and private sectors, respectively. The 2014 cohort included 2,803 (63.2% male, 36.8% female; mean age: 50.1) and 29,988 (56.5% male, 43.5% female; mean age: 54.7) patients. In both the private and public sectors, the proportion of patients with transfer history decreased (public: 23.8% to 21.7% and private: 20.8% to 17.6%), and bacteriological confirmed disease increased (public: 48.9% to 62.3% and private: 48.8% to 58.1%) in 2014 compared to 2009. After expanding nationwide PPM, absolute TS rates improved by 9.10% (87.5% to 93.4%) and by 13.6% (from 70.3% to 83.9%) in the public and private sectors. Relative to the public, the private saw 4.1% (95% confidence interval [CI] 2.9% to 5.3%, p-value < 0.001) and −8.7% (95% CI −9.7% to −7.7%, p-value <0.001) higher rates of improvement in TS and reduction in LTFU. Treatment outcomes did not improve in patients who experienced at least 1 transfer during their TB treatment. Study limitations include non-longitudinal nature of our original dataset, inability to assess the regional disparities, and verify PPM program’s impact on TB mortality. Conclusions We found that the nationwide scale-up of the PPM program was associated with improvements in TB treatment outcomes in the private sector in South Korea. Centralized financial governance and regulatory mechanisms were integral in facilitating the integration of highly diverse South Korean private sector into the national TB control program and scaling up of the PPM intervention nationwide. However, TB care gaps continued to exist for patients who transferred at least once during their treatment. These programmatic gaps may be improved through reducing administrative hurdles and making programmatic amendments that can help facilitate management TB patients between institutions and healthcare sectors, as well as across administrative regions.

The purpose of this research is to determine what the game means from the perspectives of children studying at public and private schools. Four questionnaires were applied to all the third grade parents of four schools; two public and two private schools in Ankara, and questionnaires were completed and sent back by 212 parents. A total of 32 volunteer students from four schools, 4 girls and 4 boys, who were determined according to the results of parents surveys consist of our student research group. Qualitative data were obtained by semi-structured interview technique. Content analysis technique was used for qualitative data and six main themes were created.As a result, children at private and public schools have described as ‘’the meaning of the play’’ theme, as ‘’having fun, being happy, having a good time with friends, ’learning new rules, being healthy and doing sports’’. In the research, they also stated that they play game types such as ’’rope, hide, hide and seek’’ which do not require materials in public schools while they indicated they play games such as ‘’ball, dart, taboo and technological games’’ in private schools. Children indicated that they play at school competitive games prepared by teachers in physical activities lessons. It is concluded that, there is not too much change in the meaning of the game in terms of children who study at private and public schools. Children’s type of game and materials especially change for both girls and boys and schools. Although there are purpose of "enjoy" for both of the two groups, but materials and games that used and played are different.

<p class="Abstrak">Tata kelola Teknologi Informasi (TI) dibutuhkan di suatu organisasi pada saat ini menjadi perhatian utama dalam mengembangkan layanan yang telah berbasis TI. Adanya kebutuhan untuk menghasilkan kualitas layanan TI yang kredibel dan transparan telah mendorong setiap organisasi baik sektor swasta maupun sektor publik. Beberapa penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 75% adopsi suatu teknologi sering berujung kegagalan. Persoalan utama yang menyebabkan kegagalan implementasi <em>Information Technology Governance</em> (ITG) terletak pada operasional TI. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: 1) mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor kepemimpinan yang menitikberatkan kepada TI berpengaruh dalam keberhasilan maupun kegagalan implementasi tata kelola TI; (2) Sejauh mana mana visi kepemimpinan dapat mendorong implementasi ITG pada Sektor Publik. Metode kualitatif digunakan untuk memecahkan masalah tersebut, lokasi penelitian ini berada di Kota Salatiga dan Kabupaten Bengkayang. Dalam penelitian ini ditemukan faktor-faktor yang berperan seperti: komitmen kepala daerah, kemampuan dalam menjabarkan visi dan misi, ketersediaan regulasi dan aturan, dukungan untuk mengimplementasikan TI, kemampuan dalam konsolidasi dan pengelolaan, penataan kelembagaan, dukungan dan alokasi anggaran, ketersediaan infrastruktur, sumber daya manusia, dan kemampuan dalam mengembangkan strategi implementasi. Oleh karena faktor tersebut, dukungan visi kepemimpinan dalam mengembangkan tata kelola pemerintahan dapat menjadi basis reformasi birokrasi.</p><p class="Abstrak"> </p><p class="Abstrak"><em><strong>Abstract</strong></em></p><p class="Abstract"><em>Information Technology (IT) governance is required in an organization is currently a major concern in developing IT-based services. The need to produce quality IT services that are credible and transparent has encouraged every organization, both private and public sectors. Several studies show that 75% of the adoption of technology often leads to failure. The main problem that causes the failure of the implementation of Information Technology Governance (ITG) lies in IT operations. This study aims to: 1) identify leadership factors that focus on IT that influence the success or failure of IT governance implementation; (2) The extent to which the leadership vision can encourage the implementation of ITG in the Public Sector. Qualitative methods are used to solve the problem, the location of this research is in Salatiga City and Bengkayang Regency. This study found factors that play a role such as the commitment of the regional head, the ability to describe the vision and mission, the availability of regulations and rules, support for implementing IT, the ability to consolidate and manage, institutional structuring, support, and budget allocation, availability of infrastructure, resources human resources, and the ability to develop implementation strategies. Because of these factors, the support for the vision of leadership in developing good governance can be the basis for bureaucratic reform.</em></p><p class="Abstrak"><em><strong><br /></strong></em></p>
