Performance benchmarking and performance measurement are the fundamental principles of performance enhancement in the business sector. For businesses to enhance their performance in the modern competitive world, it is fundamental to know how to measure the performance level in business that also incorporates telling how they will performance after a change has been made. In case a business improvement has been made, the performance processes have to be evaluated. Performance measurements are also fundamental in the process of doing comparisons of performance levels between corporations. The best practices within the industry are evaluated by the businesses with desirable levels of the kind of performance measures being conducted. In that regard, it is fundamental if similar businesses applied the same collection of performance metrics. In this paper, the NETIAS performance measurement framework will be applied to accomplish the mission of evaluating performances in business by producing generic collection of performance metrics, which businesses can utilize to compare and measure their organizational activities.

<p> </p><p><span> </span>This paper will assess the viability of implementing an alternative delivery model and performance measurement framework – commonly known as ‘deliverology’ – at the level of community economic development. First, a review of relevant literature on traditional economic development delivery models and performance metrics is conducted to determine strengths and weaknesses. Next, a deliverology approach is defined and analyzed to determine whether such a model can address the weaknesses of more traditional approaches. The results indicate that a deliverology approach has many potential advantages for economic development service delivery and addresses many of the weaknesses of current models and frameworks. Since deliverology remains rather new compared to more traditional approaches, further research in terms of a case study in a large urban municipality is recommended as a way to test the applicability of deliverology to community economic development. </p><p><strong>Keywords: </strong>deliverology, performance measurement, results and delivery framework, community economic development, service delivery model</p>

This paper aims to propose the idea of briefly explaining the balance scorecard by highlighting its use, application in depth. A critical enabler in achieving desired performance goals is the ability to measure performance. Despite the importance of accurately measuring organizational performance in most areas of academic research, there have been very few studies that have directly addressed the question of how overall organizational performance is or should be measured. Perhaps more importantly, none of these studies seems to have significantly influenced how overall organizational performance is actually measured in most of the empirical research that uses this construct as a dependent measure. The most popular of the performance measurement framework has been the balanced scorecard abbreviated as BSC. The BSC is widely acknowledged to have moved beyond the original ideology. It has now become a strategic change management and performance management process. The approach used in this paper is the combination of literature review on evolution of balance score card and its applications in various sectors/organizations/ areas. This paper identify that the balanced scorecard is a powerful but simple strategic tool and the simplicity of the scorecard is in its design. By encompassing four primary perspectives, the tool allows an organization to turn its attention to external concerns, such as the financial outcomes and its customers expectations, and internal areas, which include its internal processes to meet external requirements and its integration of learning and growth, to successfully meet its strategic expectations. This paper provides a comprehensive overview of the balanced scorecard combined with application and strategy, which are now in a better position to begin to recognize managements expectations and to discover new ways to build value for workplace learning and performance within organization.

PurposeThis study aims to investigate the hybridization practices that medical managers engage with to promote accounting and performance measurement in the hybrid setting of healthcare. In doing so, the authors explore how medical managers enact and become practitioners of hybridity.Design/methodology/approachThe authors adopt a practice lens to conceptualize hybridization as an emergent, situated practice and capture the micro-activities that medical managers engage with when they enact hybridity. The authors conducted semi-structured interviews with medical managers, business managers and coding professionals and collected documents at an English National Health Service (NHS) hospital over the course of five years.FindingsThe findings accentuate two emergent practices through which medical managers instill hybridity to individuals who are hesitant or resistant to hybridization. Medical managers engage in equivocalizing and de-stigmatizing practices to broaden the understandings, further diversify or reconcile the teleologies of clinicians in non-managerial roles. In doing so, the authors signal the merits of accounting in improving care outcomes and remove the stigma associated to clinical engagement with costs.Originality/valueThe study contributes to hybridization and practice theory literature via capturing how hybridity is enacted in practice in a healthcare setting. As medical managers engage with and promote accounting information and performance measurement technologies in their practice environment, they transcend professional boundaries and hybridize the professional spaces that surround them.

Innovation is important for organizational survival, not only for private company but also for Public Service Company. When the private company needs to develop innovation to win the market competition, public service sector develops innovation in order to increase efficiency and public service quality. In order to evaluate and develop the successful innovation, the company needs to measure innovation performance. The purpose of this paper is to develop a framework for measuring innovation performance in the public service sector. This paper also identified the variables associated with innovation performance measurement in the public service sector. Using qualitative methods, we developed a performance measurement framework based on the literature review of innovation and performance measurement. The measured variables consist of inputs for innovation, innovation processes, innovation outputs, and the outcomes of implementing innovation. This research is expected to contribute to the literature used by academics and companies that have similar characteristics to measure innovation performance.

To inform the future development of a pan-Canadian Mental Health and Addictions (MHA) performance measurement framework, we undertook a review and comparison of current provincial/territorial MHA policies and performance measurement frameworks. Most did not have performance measurement approaches that were explicitly linked to policy actions but eleven acknowledged the importance of performance measurement. Among the provinces with a framework, there were few performance domains in common. The common policy priorities and areas of convergence in current performance measurement practices may provide a useful starting point for the development of a pan-Canadian MHA performance measurement framework.


A SPREAD programme is anticipated to enhance the safe data supply and delivery in a MANET. The main aim of SPREAD is to divide a message into many parts by secret sharing and sends them via various autonomous paths to the end point. This paper focuses and highlights the spread design and its performance metrics. SPREAD is considered to be more protected and also possess comparatively high amount of reliability because of presence of redundancy without compromising safety. Simulation outcomes validate the feasibility of the SPREAD method and display the efficiency and performance metrics

Purpose – One of the hurdles to the adoption of sustainable practices across supply chains is the lack of pan-chain performance measurements and their related information and organizational structures. The authors review the literature on performance measurement of sustainable supply chains with a focus on comprehensive measures that include multiple supply chain partners as well as different sustainability aspects. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the reviewed literature and propose some research questions. Design/methodology/approach – The authors reviewed 140 journal articles, cases and reports that appeared since 1994. Findings – The authors classify the reviewed literature according to seven sustainability dimensions (economical, environmental, social, reputable, valuable, equitable and sustainable) as well as the type of industry and methodology used. In addition the authors synthesize the available performance measurements into a comprehensive framework that incorporates different stages of the supply chain operations and decision-making processes. Social implications – The results of this study can be used by researchers to focus on research that may have more implications on supply chains. Practitioners can use the authors proposed performance measurement framework for developing practical and comprehensive measures for their respective industries. Originality/value – The work is original in the way the authors integrate sustainability (seven dimensions) across the supply chain taking into account the type of operational decisions. The framework can be used by researchers and practitioners to develop practical sustainability performance measurement systems for supply chains.

Sustainable manufacturing strives to produces the goods by minimizing negative environmental impact and reducing the resource consumptions. It also strives for safety of employee and community while maintaining an affordable cost. This study focuses on the development of a set of measures and metrics for assessing sustainability performance of manufacturing SMEs. In this study, various literatures on sustainable manufacturing performance measurement, green manufacturing, traditional manufacturing performance measurement and performance measurements in manufacturing small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are reviewed. Triple Bottom Line (TBL) is considered as framework in order to establish the relevant measures in an effective and comprehensive manner. The measures for performance measurements are classified in the three aspects of TBL known as economic, environmental and social. Therefore, 6 measures with 26 indicators, 8 measures with 31 indicators and 3 measures with 23 indicators were identified for economic, environmental and social aspects respectively. To establish the importance and applicability of developed measures, a survey will be conducted among the experts from academics and industries. Using survey results, a sustainability performance measurement model will be developed and presented.

Private industrial firms have impressively improved their internal performance in the last 20 years through the use of performance metrics. This article argues that private firms can not only learn from public organizations and performance measurement, they can also profit from it. The article proceeds from the Innovations System literature and applies it to the Canadian steel industry and examines public policies directed at improving the innovation performance of private firms. The most commercially successful firms are those that effectively interact with public infrastructure and social capital. Public policies should be critically examined in the same light. The analysis finds that the Innovation Strategy policy being implemented by Industry Canada, including its Innovation Targets, are misdirected and are likely to miss the most promising sources of innovation in the steel industry.
