The impact of climate change upon the basic human rights of the people is emerging as a frontline research area particularly in the North East region of India- the region which is more prone to the gushing impacts of global climate change due to its geo-ecological delicateness, shared international boundaries, rugged mountain terrains and the regions’ high dependency on climate sensitive livelihood such as agriculture, tea and forestry. Profound impacts of climate change in the region are being seen already in the form of rise in average temperature, slight changes in rainfall patterns, changes in the biodiversity, decrease of air quality which has ultimately threatened an array of human rights of the people in the region such as their Right to Life, Right to Food, Right to health and so on. Although Climate change has a cascading effect upon the people of the North East region of India, this area has been under-acknowledged and under-researched. Therefore, the paper purports to explore and evaluate the threats that anthropogenic climate change has imposed upon the human rights of the people of North-East India along albeit interrogating the measures that have been undertaken to address the issue and their efficacy.

It has been found that diesel cars cause greater emissions (per kilometer travelled) as compared to petrol cars; therefore, the use of diesel should be discouraged. The chapter suggests that the emissions in case of public transport passenger-km are lesser than other modes of transport. However, in the North-East Region, there is negligible share of public transport due to poor infrastructure and service facilities. Therefore, improvements should be made with regard to public transport system so that considerable number of passengers shifts to public transport modes. Further, it is inferred that use of alternate vehicle or fuel technologies like hybrid electric vehicles, biofuel, biodiesel, hydrogen fuel need to be initiated to mitigate the climate change.

The intellectual capital in its dynamic approach focusses on the development of the entropic model, which expresses the dynamic transformation of the theoretical intellectual capital in a concrete and useful intellectual capital. The aim of the present paper is to perform a detailed analysis of the intellectual capital inside the SMES of the North-Est region of the country. It also speaks about the influence of the main integrators of the intellectual capital, divided into three elements: the cognitive, the emotional and the spiritual capital, about how they are acting as a field of forces upon the basic components of the intellectual capital, such as knowledge, intelligence and values and how they determine the generation and development of the intellectual capital in the eastern analyzed SMEs. Both jobs and teams inside the analyzed SMEs are stimulating the development of the intellectual skills, which reduces the need for involving the external experts, by appealing only those specialists who could transform the tacit knowledge into explicit knowledge. The organizational communication provides the necessary information and contributes to the establishment of a fair climate and of the effective relationships between managers and employees, between work mates, and also with the people outside the organization.

The North-East Region (NER) of India which comprises of eight states, namely Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura shares most of its boundary with China, Bangladesh, Bhutan and Myanmar. The NER accounts for about eight per cent of the country's geographical area and about four per cent of population. Tribals account for more than 30 per cent of the total population of NER. Inadequate and poor infrastructure, inhospitable terrain and a com¬paratively late start in the development process are some of the reasons for economic back¬wardness of the region. However, the NER has certain strengths in different angles to achieve economic development in easy way. From the geo-political angle, the NER is located in a strategic location as it is bounded by these several foreign countries. Naturally it has got both advantages and disadvantages due to its location. So far advantages are concerned it is connected with the South-East Asian countries mainly China, Myanmar, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Cambodia and Indonesia etc where almost half of the world’s population live. There is no doubt that this vast population could have great advantage for establishing any kind of trade and commerce. But the vary geographical condition basically the rivers and mountains of the country stand as a barrier and create geo–political tensions which ultimately act as most disadvantages factors in creating a conducive atmosphere in the path of developing trade relation among those countries.

The Stream-flow is key component of hydro power project regulation. The present study has been conducted to identify the impact of climate change on stream flow of Ranganadi River, a sub-set of Brahmaputra basin situated at north-East region of India, which receives more rainfall as compare to other parts of India The three GCM model viz.HadCM3, CGCM2 and GFDL monthly data with A2 scenario have been choose for Downscaling by advanced neural technique (Artificial Neural Network).The prediction result show as an positive increasing trend up to 2040 for Ranganadi River. This will create the flood problem but capacity of hydroelectricity generation will be increase.

The global crisis generated by the COVID-19 pandemic among the population and at the level of companies, state institutions, etc., underlined the importance of analysing its impact at different levels (intern, national and international level). The concepts of sustainability, development and growth must be aware, adapted and implemented more and more frequently, even constantly, in order to cope with the current evolution of the economy (and not only). The paper is an empirical research conducted in the North-East Region of Romania, aiming to analyse the impact of COVID-19 on local companies (especially SME’s), in the context of existing correlation between the COVID-19 impact on resizing, restricting, changing the number of active employees, changing revenue, changing turnover and changing profit, based on the Spearman correlation coefficients. In this sense, it was important to implement sustainability strategies and ensure the activity and resources of companies in the long term, because the effects of an economic crisis (natural resources, human resources, not only financial) are felt in 2021 and will be felt in the future 10 years. The paper concludes with two practical solutions to ensure the sustainability of the companies involved in the study, solutions that can be applied by all companies that have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

"This study was designed to investigate how dairy farmers of AL-Dhulel cooperative Dairy Society (ACDS) perceive climate change, the adaptation strategies adopted by farmers to cope with the impact of climate change and the barriers to the adoption of these strategies. A 92 dairy farmers provided with a questionnaire that was developed to collect the data and covered farmers perception, adaptation strategies, and the barriers facing them towards adopting the strategies. The personal interviews with the farmers were performed during early January, 2020. The data was analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). The main result obtained from the study that most of dairy farmers were aware of the climate change impact on dairy cattle performance and health. Furthermore, the adaptation strategies that was suggested has limiting factors according to farmers as a result of governmental and agricultural institutions restriction polices. Therefore, recommendations regarding new polices was suggested to facilitate the way of getting benefit from grants and financial support for improving dairy farms and to mitigate the effect of climate change on dairy cattle."

Since the last two decades, the North-East region of India witnessed many environmental movements with similar goals and forms of mobilisation that challenged government policies and actions. Many of them achieved their goals or objectives whereas others failed. This study is an attempt to understand the factors that determined the success and failure of those movements and protests by employing rich details of four case studies from the North-East to make a systematic comparison. This study uses political opportunity structure as a theoretical construct to understand relative success and failure of environmental movements in the North-East.

Abstract As climate change is linked with changes in precipitation, evapotranspiration and changes in other climatological parameters, these changes will be affected runoff of a river basin. Gomati River basin is the largest river basin among all the river basin of Tripura. Due to the increase in settlement in the Gomati river basin and climate change may threaten natural flow patterns that endure its diversity. This study assesses the impact of climate change on total flow of a catchment in North East India (Gomati River catchment). For this assessment, the Group Method of Data Handling Modeling System (GMDH) model was used to simulate the rainfall-runoff relationship of the catchment, with respect to the observed data during the period of 2008–2009. The statistically downscaled outputs of HadGEM2-ES (Hadley Centre Global Environment Model version 2), general circulation models (GCMs) scenario was used to assess the impacts of climate change on the Gomati River Basin. Future projections were developed for the 2030s, 2040s and 2050s projections, respectively. The results from the present study can contribute to the development of adaptive strategies and future policies for the sustainable management of water resources in North East, Tripura.

Background  How has the Government of Canada framed the issue of climate change in Canada’s northern region during the last decade?Analysis  This article undertakes a discourse analysis of Canadian government speeches, statements, and reports relating to northern climate change since 2006. It argues that the rhetoric of the 2006–2015 Conservative government de-emphasized the impact of Arctic climate change on the people of the North. It stressed the threat to environmental security and nature.Conclusions and implications  This article contributes to literature that understands how governments frame issues, as well as literature that examines the framing of climate change and reviews of Canada’s northern policy. Contexte  Comment le gouvernement canadien a-t-il représenté le changement climatique dans le Grand Nord au cours des dix dernières années?Analyse  Cet article entreprend l’analyse d’énoncés, de discours et de rapports du gouvernement canadien depuis 2006 qui portent sur le changement climatique dans le Grand Nord. L’article soutient que le gouvernement conservateur de 2006-2015 s’est efforcé par sa rhétorique de minimiser l’impact du changement climatique dans l’Arctique sur les habitants du Nord canadien. À l’époque, le gouvernement mettait plutôt l’accent sur la sécurité environnementale et la nature.Conclusions et implications  Cet article est une contribution à la recherche sur la manière dont les gouvernements représentent les problèmes sociaux.
