The menopausal stage is the condition where a female wants to be at ease but if other ailments occur where she has to face continuous pain and agony make is more uncomfortable along with the psychological disturbances. The present case is a female patient who came with the symptoms of Aamavata (R.A.) in her menopausal age and was diagnosed with the same (Aamvata). She received Dietary guidelines along with lifestyle modification (Pathya Palan), Panchakarma therapy i.e. Vaitran Basti (medicated enema) for 7 days, Ruksha Swedana (dry sudation), Aamvatari Rasa, Trivrata Avleha, Ajmodadi churna, Giloy Satva for 1 month, later only Ajmodadi Churna and dietary guidelines for 2 months. The application of the Ayurvedic principle shows remarkable results in this case where other treatment options are limited. Keywords: Aamvata, R.A., Pathya Palan

This article presents the case of a female patient suffering from cervical myelopathy due to ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament (OPLL) which was undiagnosed for a number of years. Besides presenting the clinical case, we describe the pathophysiology, symptoms, diagnostic methods and treatment options related to this condition, which is unusual in the European population.

Objectives. Psoriasis makes a relative contraindication for lithium treatment which can exacerbate its symptoms or induce it itself. On the other hand, lithium exerts immuno-modulatory activity. Case study. In this paper, a case of a female patient is presented. The patient has been treated since 2012 for bipolar affective illness (bipolar disorder – BD) and psoriasis, which occurred for the first time during a depressive episode. Despite intensive pharmacological treatment, both as inpatient and outpatient, a satisfactory improvement of affective illness has not been obtained. After the introduction of lithium, a remission of BD was achieved as well as a reduction of psoriatic changes, which have been maintained until now (2021). Conclusion. The remission of Bipolar Disorder (BD) on lithium can suggest that the patient belongs to the group of the so-called excellent lithium responders. In the presented case remission of psoriasis was observed during lithium treatment. This case report must be treated with caution because remission could be spontaneous and the patient needs further observation.

Objective: Cardiovascular diseases are the major cause of morbidity and mortality in the modern era. Myocardial infarction is a condition where there is a significant decrease or block in the blood (oxygen) supply to the part of heart, leading to degeneration of a portion of the myocardium which triggers a cascade of cellular, inflammatory and biochemical events, leading eventually to the irreversible death (necrosis) of heart muscle cells. Various therapeutic interventions, including lifestyle modification, pharmacological treatment options, and surgical techniques are available. The present review focus on the plants that have been evaluated for cardioprotective activity against isoproterenol-induced myocardial infarction.Method: The current status of Cardioprotective plants was obtained from a literature search of electronic databases such as Google Scholar, Pubmed and Scopus up to 2017 for publications on medicinal plants used against isoproterenol-induced myocardial infarction. Isoproterenol, Isoprenaline, myocardial infarction, cardioprotective were used as keywords for the searching.Result: A total of 117 different plant parts and their extracts have till now been published to possess cardioprotection against isoproterenol-induced myocardial infarction. Isoproterenol a beta-adrenergic receptors agonist causes severe stress in myocardium resulting in the infarct-like lesion and produced cardiotoxic effects by elevating the levels of cardiac biomarkers and causing changes in ECG. Plant-based medicines with their antioxidant, antiapoptotic, antihyperlipidemic, platelet antiaggregatory, anti-lipid peroxidation property provide substantial evidence for the management of Ischemia. Conclusion: This review, therefore, provides a useful resource to enable a thorough assessment of the profile of plants that have cardioprotective activity against isoproterenol-induced myocardial infarction.

Vaccine-induced immune thrombotic thrombocytopenia (VITT) has already been described after vaccination with ChAdOx2 nCov-19 (AstraZeneca) and Ad26.COV2.S (Johnson & Johnson/Janssen). However, less knowledge so far has been gained about optimal therapeutic regimens in VITT-suspected patients. Here, we report the case of a 26-year-old female patient, who developed bilateral deep vein thrombosis in the lower legs and severe thrombocytopenia after ChAdOx2 nCov-19 vaccination. After initial anticoagulation therapy regimens including fondaparinux, apixaban, and danaparoid failed, the patient was successfully treated with high-dose intravenous immunoglobulins in combination with parental anticoagulation therapy with argatroban. As vaccination against severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 affects billions of people worldwide, medical facilities and hospitals have to be prepared and provide effective treatment options in VITT-suspected patients, including rapid application of high-dose intravenous immunoglobulins, to improve patient outcomes.

AbstractTandem appliance is preferred over face mask mainly because of compliance reasons. In the given case report, clinicians have used tandem appliance for correcting skeletal class III malocclusion patient in later stage of growth. Operators utilized residual growth. Facial harmony was achieved by gaining positive overjet. Adolescent class III malocclusion is challenging to treat. Occurrence of class III malocclusion is just 5% in India. If patient reports in growing stage, clinicians get many relevant treatment options. Lack of knowledge about growth modulation therapy causes loss of growing stage of patients. This situation reduces available treatment modalities. Here is a case of female patient with class III malocclusion who is near completion of her growth; maxillary growth was stimulated in forward direction taking anchorage from overgrown mandible with the help of tandem appliance.

Introduction: Equipoise is usually discussed as an ethical issue in clinical trials. However, it also has practical implications. Background: Clinical equipoise is usually construed to mean uncertainty or disagreement among the expert clinician community. However, an individual physician’s sense of equipoise may vary by location, based on the local standard of care or availability of specific treatment options, and these differences can affect providers’ willingness to enroll participants into clinical trials. There are also logistical barriers to enrollment in international trials due to prolonged timelines for approvals by government agencies and ethical review boards. Case Study: A multinational clinical trial of bridging strategies for treatment of non-adherent HIV-infected youth, experienced differing perceptions of equipoise due to disparities in availability of treatment options by country. Unfortunately, the countries with most demand for the trial were those where the approval process was most delayed, and the study was closed early due to slow accrual. Discussion: When planning multicenter clinical trials, it is important to take into account heterogeneity among research sites and try to anticipate differences in equipoise and logistical factors between sites, in order to plan to address these issues at the design stage.

Recently the comorbidity of substance abuse and eating disorders has become a concern. Treating these disorders is particularly important for bulimia nervosa, which is characterized by "binge eating and inappropriate compensatory methods to prevent weight gain" (American Psychiatric Association, 2000, p. 589). In this article we explore common pathways to the development of bulimia nervosa and substance abuse, how treatment is begun, and treatment options (cognitive behavioral therapy/coping skills training and dialectical behavioral therapy). A case study shows the application of coping skills training and dialectical behavioral therapy in clinical practice.
