Educating potential of singing resources in teaching foreign language to primary school students is revealed. Emphasized are phonetic, lexical and grammatical aspects of teaching resource of songs. It is pointed that songs as educational material also help students to develop communication skills, give them linguistic and countryspecific knowledge, improve general and musical culture and strengthen motivation. The author outlines a real case where pupils have successfully mastered some Englishlanguage grammatical units, pretty difficult for perception of lower-grades students, based on the song, involving different grammatical forms of the verb “to be”.

The article deals with the study of the gaming technology in teaching a foreign language to primary school children and its influence on their motivation. Nowadays it is relevant to start mastering a foreign language at primary school. The article presents the psychological and pedagogical characteristics of primary school children, emphasizes the importance of academic motivation, reveals the peculiarities of the gaming technology, gives examples of its practical application and shows the results of the experimental research identifying the impact of this method on the level of young learners’ motivation. The purpose of the article is to study the influence of practical application of the gaming technology on primary school children’s motivation in the process of the foreign language acquisition. The methodology of the study is a theoretical analysis of psychological research, empirical research methods, qualitative and quantitative analysis of empirical data. The results show that the use of the gaming technology increases academic motivation of primary school children.

The article deals with the problems of formation of communication skills of younger students. The authors are of the opinion that the communicative goal of teaching Russian in primary school is aimed at forming a system of knowledge about the language and on its basis - the communicative skills of students. At the same time, a variety of work on the text becomes an effective tool in the formation of communication skills of younger students. The system of exercises based on the sample text becomes the basis for the formation of communication skills. Performing exercises on the text, accompanied by a speech situation, creates a certain speech environment that forms the child's speech activity, develops the senses of language. When forming communication skills, a primary school teacher must take into account certain conditions when working with the text. these conditions are presented in the article.
