The thesis work has been the integral part of the MPhil in Education program. However, it has been observed that students are in a great fix regarding the completion of their thesis work. So, the purpose was to investigate the difficulties encountered by the students during research at MPhil level. Their experiences were further examined on the basis of their gender and university type. The data was collected by the survey. The conveniently selected sample consisted of 300 MPhil students including male and female, studying in public as well as in private universities. The data was collected through a questionnaire which was a 4-point Rating Scale comprising 25 items. It has 3 factors: i) supervisor’ selection, ii) supervisors’ support, iii) institutional support. The descriptive statistics for calculating the percentage of students’ perspectives as well as Inferential Statistics (Mann-Whitney U tests) was used to find out the difference on the basis of students’ gender and university type. The results revealed that majority of students selected their supervisors themselves willingly, but few of them forced to select their supervisor on their teachers’ referrals, research topics were allotted to students by supervisors themselves. Their supervisors were not easily approachable as they were unable to give students the due time because of their academic and administrative burdensome responsibilities, even neither the concerned HOD/ director is available at ease for students nor they are provided the access to paid e-libraries. By keeping in mind, the importance of thesis in accomplishment of degrees of MPhil students, there is need to conduct further studies to explore supervisors’ point of view as some of the problems are concerned with the supervisors’ support too, that will help to minimize the students’ problems.

The objective of the study was to find out difference in opinion of university graduates on self-directed learning skills (SDLS) on the base of their gender, sector (public & private), discipline and their program. The sample of the study comprised of 584 university students from the three public and three private universities of Lahore. These six universities were selected randomly from the district Lahore. All of the six universities were general universities. The data were assembled by adopting a Self-Developed questionnaire on SDLS. The mean difference of the above mentioned factors were found by using inferential statistics t-test and ANOVA. The findings showed no difference in concerning male and female university students’ application of self-directed learning skills. Both of them used different techniques to meet their academic needs. Same is the case with public and private universities. While there was found some difference on the base of their disciplines students of fine and performing arts are the individuals whom are more concerned with the self-directed learning skills. They are performing most of their work on the base of self-creativity, because they are the students whom are preparing their own trends. Lastly the difference on the base of program showed that the students of postgraduate level are more concerned with the SDLS.

Corporate mission statement is an essential statement to all stakeholders of the organization about its own purpose, its goals and the competitive advantage it offers to its customers. Another purpose of the mission is to create a so-called positive ethos. Universities represent a specific group of institutions from the perspective of defining missions and working with ethos. This paper identifies the elementary components of university missions that help build a positive ethos. The research is focused on the analysis of mission statements of all public and private universities operating in the Czech Republic. The results of this research show that there is a difference in the approach to defining missions between public and private universities (in terms of the inclusion of individual components that help building a positive ethos).

Ten schools of a renowned large spread schoolsystem were selected conveniently and ten independent schools wereselected from the same localities for ensuring similarity of the context.Quality of education was define dalong input, process and product/outputindicators. Opinion of Head Teachers (HTs)/ School principals wasgathered through a questionnaire consisting five point rating scale oninput and process indicators. Opinion of HTs about input indicators wasvalidated through direct observation of the input indicators in the schoolsby one of the researchers. Students’ achievement scores in thematriculation examination conducted by the Board of Intermediate andSecondary Education, Lahore were the indicator of quality output. TheHTs of the two types of schools perceived no significant difference in thequality of input and process at their schools but the independent schoolsscoring slightly better on each of the two indicators. However, theindependent private schools were significantly superior to the franchiseschools in quality of output in terms of students’ pass percentage anddistribution over grades. Thus, the claim of franchising for better qualityeducation was not supported by this research.

The study aimed to find out the extent to which the educational administration departments in the Jordanian public and private universities are committed to performing their social responsibility from the point of view of the faculty members in them. The descriptive analytical method was used. In order to answer the questions of the study, the arithmetic averages, standard deviations, and rank were extracted to the degree of commitment of the educational administration departments in the Jordanian public and private universities to perform their social responsibility, and the triple analysis of variance was used to test the significance of the differences between the variables, in light of the responses of the faculty members to the fields of study, after classifying them within the following levels Gender (male, female), experience (less than 10 years, 10 years or more) and university qualifications (public and private). A tool was developed, consisting of (21) paragraphs, and distributed to the study sample members of the 66), a faculty member in the educational administration departments in Jordanian and private universities for the academic year 2020/2021, and it included three areas: academic programs, scientific research, and activities and events. The study concluded that the commitment of the educational administration departments in the public and private Jordanian universities to perform their social responsibility obtained an overall average (77¸1 out of 3), i.e. a degree of commitment (medium), and at the level of the three domains; The field of academic programs got the highest average (4.¸2), then the field of scientific research with an average (71,1), both with a degree of commitment (medium), and finally activities and events with an average of (58.1) and a degree of commitment (low). The results also showed that there were no differences Statistically significant at the significance level (α = 0.05) between the arithmetic averages of the responses of the study sample members to the tool domains as a whole, and to the variables of gender, experience, and university status. Based on the results, the study may recommend conducting a study on the possibility of integrating social responsibility within the academic accreditation standards.

In Brazil, like in most Latin America countries, the educational system is basically composed of private and public education institutions. Public universities depend almost exclusively on tuition fees paid by the students. Public professors are insolvent, and very rarely provided with the resources they desperately need, whereas private professors are governed by service contracts and can be dismissed when the institution deems it necessary. These characteristics also highlight the difference in the teaching profile of public and private institutions. Public universities cherish the high degree and familiarity with research, because private universities value more for practice than theory, although they require academic qualifications of their professors. That said, this study aims identify and enhance student’s perception of what makes a good professor in the social science and highlight the differences between those who work in private and public universities. Through gathering data from undergraduate business students, we searched for educator’s characteristics considered positive or ideal for the learning process. This research used primary data resources collected through online survey. Technical analysis of content was used for interpretation of the results. Students from private universities look for professors who can link practice with theory. Most of the students from the public universities look for dynamic professors and that they respect them. A lot of students who apply for a public university do so because of the University’s reputation or for not paying.
