The purpose of the article is to study land-art objects created using the weaving technique from natural materials; the types of techniques and materials used by artists to create installations are identified. The modern trends of this direction of art are investigated. Artists use for land-art objects various techniques: weaving, reed weaving, straw weaving etc. The main trends in modern land-art are the use of environmental, natural materials, reproduction of ethnic techniques and methods create art objects.

The purpose of the article is to study the land art objects created from the wood by various techniques used by the artists. To achieve the purpose, the following tasks have been identified and solved: the analysis of means of wood processing used by the artists to create the works of land art has been performed; the types of materials used to create installations have been determined; modern wood processing techniques and their characteristic features introduced in the land art objects have been studied. Methodology. The system approach, methods of typological, comparative-historical, reconstructive, structural-functional analysis, etc. are used. Results of the research. The study of wood processing techniques used by the artists of land art in their works has been conducted. The special decorative significance of wood processing techniques during the realization of the art object and their influence on the concept of the work have been determined. It has been found that the main trends in modern art are the environmental friendliness of materials used by the artists of land art, the use and restoration of ethnographic techniques and methods of creating art objects, but giving the work its own semantic component, often environmental one. The scientific novelty is to determine the author`s artistic techniques and approaches used for the creation of objects of land art in wood processing techniques, to develop the typologies of objects of land art from wood, as well as to determine the impact of traditional wood processing industries on the work of the artists of land art of our days. The practical significance lies in the fact that the materials presented in the article, their analysis and generalization can be used in research on the development of land art in Ukraine and the world, as well as for further implementation in the author`s art projects.

Fala Gaba-gaba is a traditional house with most of the building material coming from sago trees. Where sago trees are plants that grow a lot in eastern Indonesia including Maluku, North Maluku and Papua. Made from natural materials, coupled with an opening arrangement that adapts to the local climate makes the traditional house "fala gaba-gaba" as one of the energy-efficient buildings. The purpose of this study is to describe the construction of a traditional house "fala gaba-gaba" from the foundation, body and roof of the building associated with Energy Saving Buildings. The conclusion that can be drawn is one of the embodiments of energy-efficient buildings, this can be proven by placing the orientation of the building towards the direction of the wind and sun, wall and floor materials used, placement of openings that can maximize lighting and natural acceleration and building type which is a stilt house can maximize lighting and natural air.

Humans realised the importance of housing since the dawn of history. The first man used the caves as shelter. When agricultural activities dominated the life style of humans, villages started to be constructed. Later these were developed into cities. The dawn of civilization started in Iraq. The inhabitants in that time used the available natural materials in their construction. Reviewing the progress of engineering practices of ancient Iraq, reveals the facts that the inhabitants were aware of the principles of construction and engineering. The materials used and the design of the buildings were very suitable from both environmental and engineering perspectives. This work is a critical review of the progress and development of engineering practices and construction materials used in ancient Mesopotamia

Abstract Art works are affected by environmental factors as light, temperature, humidity. Air pollutants are also implicated in their degradation. The pollution in museums has two sources: the air from outside, which brings usually dust and inorganic particles, and the inside sources – the materials used for casings (sealants, textiles placed on the display cases, varnishes, wood) that emanate organic compounds. The dust is composed of particles with a diameter of approximately 2µm or higher, which come from soil (silica) or animal and vegetal residues (skin cells, pollen). They facilitate water condensation on objects surface and biologic attack. The inorganic compounds are a result of materials combustion (SO2, NO2, NO) and in presence of water they form acidic compounds which affect the museum objects. The organic compounds are usually peroxides, acids, phthalates, formaldehyde. The effects of these pollutants are: soiling, surface discolouration, embrittlement, corrosion. Therefore, conservators are interested in monitoring the pollution degree in the display cases or in the museum air and in analyzing the effects of pollutants on the exhibited objects. They use different methods for pollutants identification, like direct reading devices based on colorimetry, that can be read after few minutes and hours (they interact with the pollutants in atmosphere), or indirect reading samples that require a laboratory. The information gathered is used for the identification of pollution source and to analyze the concentration of pollutants needed to provoke damages on the surfaces of art objects. This paper is a review of pollutants that affect the art objects and of the monitoring systems used for their identification and measuring.

The purpose of this study, 2369 street furniture at the campus mentioned to the thesis study named “Generating a GIS-Based Campus Street Furniture Information System (YEDBIS): Example of Kanuni Campus - Karadeniz Technical University” are to question the harmony statuses of space form, actual activity in space, space size, natural materials used space, usage density of space, surface materials of space, users, and the other of them. The harmony statuses of the street furniture were fixed by observation works and field determinations at the campus. Findings obtained observations were recorded to identification cards by writing “0” value for disharmony, “1” value for partly harmony and “2” value for harmony. Then, the data were analyzed in YEDBIS, which is based on GIS. Then, the data were analyzed in YEDBIS, which is based on GIS, by using ArcMap 10.0 programme. However, due to the absence of web support generated for the YEDBIS, with current data querying and analysis of this data was carried out only in a computer where YEDBIS is located.<br><br> The results of the analysis indicates that 2369 street furniture were found to be disharmony with space form, with surface materials of space, with natural materials used space and with other street furniture in space, and to be partly harmony actual activity in space, space size, usage density of space and users. Also, the regions and nearby around of the buildings at the campus where were disharmony, partly harmony and harmony of the street furniture were established by using YEDBIS.
