To verify a product’s usefulness, each application must go through a testing or evaluation phase. The usability evaluation is described as a test performed on a real user to assess how easy it is to use an application. In this study, the respondents must use the developed prototype and evaluate it by answering the questionnaire provided in order to determine the usability of the i-Rehlah prototype. Since the evaluation of usability could not be applied to Arab tourists as the main respondents, the authors decided to appoint professionals in academia, industry and government as respondents. For the initial phase of construction for the real application, the choice of this technique and a target group of experts is deemed appropriate.

This chapter examines usability evaluation in the context of the Diploma in Computing via the Internet offered by the University of Oxford Department for Continuing Education and, to some extent, its on-site course partner. This ongoing online course is aimed at adult non-university (the “real world” of the chapter title) students. The chapter follows the usability evaluation process through the life cycle of course development, delivery and maintenance, analysing the requirements and actions of each stage and how they were implemented in the course. It also discusses how pedagogical evaluation must be considered as part of this process, as well as the more obvious software considerations, and how this was achieved within the course. Finally it draws some conclusions concerning the enhancements to course usability of the virtual classroom and how this atypical evaluation material can and should be integrated into an overall usability evaluation picture.

I found my method on the known principle, that the geometric mean between two quantities is also a geometric mean between the arithmetic and harmonic means of those quantities. We may therefore approximate to the geometric mean of two quantities in this way:—Take their arithmetic and harmonic means; then take the arithmetic and harmonic means of those means; then of these last means again, and so on, as far as we please. If the ratio of the original quantities lies within the ratio of 1 : 2, the approximation proceeds with extraordinary rapidity, so that, in obtaining a fraction nearly equal to √2 by this method, we obtain a result true to eleven places of decimals at the fourth mean. I name this merely to show the rate of approximation. The real application of the method is to the integration of functions embracing a radical of the square root.

The universal predictive maintenance(PdM) system framework integrated several common and important technologies is established in the paper. It is very important to choose and design the relative technologies for the PdM system in the real application at different factories. Here the reasons and method of the system establishment are explained. The functions and structures of the system are analyzed. The establishment of the database of the system is proposed. The PdM system can be realized flexibly based on the real conditions in the real industry application.

The real application of nanofabrication is in the nanoindustries due to their existence in nanodimensions. In this paper, it is attempted to review on the fabrication techniques of organic and inorganic nanowires, which includes vapour and solution processes. The two commonly approached methods, with respect to solution processes are fabrication through template-assisted electrodeposition technique, and the vapour-liquid-solid (VLS) as compared to organic nanowires which are fabricated through vapour and solution processes.

Indonesia is a country that has a variety of diversity in it. For example, seen from the tribe, this country consists of various tribes such as SundaNese Java, Dayak, Bugis, and so on. From each tribe has a variety of cultures that enrich the original cultural patterns of Indonesia. All of this diversity requires unity. How to realize the insight of the archipelago as a political unity, social and cultural unity, economic unity, and hankam unity. The real application of nusantara insight can be done through thinking, behaving, even speaking. Thus, nusantara insight can also be interpreted as the Indonesian nation's view of themselves and their environment based on their national ideas based on Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution, which is the aspiration of an independent, sovereign, dignified nation and animates its lifestyle and wisdom in achieving national goals.

Abstract The subject of analysis in this paper are rope based mechanisms for the movement of the telescopic conveyors substructure. Experimental test of ropes in conjunction with pulleys on 2 telescopic conveyors were performed in order to assess the real cause of damage and cracking of ropes in a full sense, which occurred in the real application of the conveyor at the site. These are examples of two conveyors with the same characteristics on which combinations of ropes with characteristics of construction of cross section 7x19 and construction of cross section 19x7 are placed, as well as combinations of pulleys with two kinds of grooves. Some specific tests are performed that showed the best combination of construction driving system elements.

The genetic algorithm based on permutation distance definition is used to solve the laser antimissile system. When faced with multiple attacking targets, it is clearly important for the laser antimissile system to determine the sequence of the attacking targets to be intercepted so that the maximum attacking targets are destroyed. It’s very difficult to find the global optimal solution, especially when the number of the targets is greater than six. The permutation distance definition is introduced to measure the distribution of the population. The successive zeros permutation distance is to stop the genetic algorithm iterations. Finally, taking ten targets as an example, the simulation results show that the convergence of the algorithm is fast and this achievement can be used in the real application.

Aiming at the problems such as updating difficulty, searching slowly and calling inconveniently occurs in use of current 3D Standard Part Library, the method to classify Standard Part data by function and the corresponding operations of each type of classified Standard Part data are analyzed firstly based on the real application and management requirements of the 3D Standard Parts Data. Then, the conception and the architecture of the data driven 3D Standard Part library is discussed based on the goal such as quick retrieve, automatic modeling and dynamical update of the Standard Part data and the methods as well as the key technology to develop the data driven 3D Standard Part Library are discussed based on the Pro/E and Access.

SUMMARYWe consider the conventional techniques of vision robot system calibration where camera parameters and robot hand–eye parameters are computed separately, i.e., first performing camera calibration and then carrying out hand–eye calibration based on the calibrated parameters of cameras. In this paper we propose a joint algorithm that combines the camera calibration and the hand–eye calibration together. The proposed algorithm gives the solutions of the cameras' parameters and the hand–eye parameters simultaneously by using nonlinear optimization. Both simulations and real experiments show the superiority of our algorithm. We also apply our algorithm in the real application of the robot-assisted surgical system, and very good results have been obtained.
