Deprogramming of masticatory group muscles is an integral step in determining and fixing the centric jaw relation in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with orthopedic and orthodontic pathology of the maxillary system. The review presents the main methods for determining the centric jaw ratio using deprogramming of masticatory muscles, as well as indications for the use of these methods. In complete adentia, the most acceptable are the method of non-forced control of the mandibular movements, the Dawson method, the Schiler method, the method of recording the Gothic angle, transcutaneous electroneurostimulation. The above-listed methods can be used in partial adentia as well, and in the presence of all teeth in the oral cavity. In the pathology of the temporomandibular joint, deprogramming methods using the Lucia jig, a leaf gauge, Sliding Guide, as well as the method of recording the Gothic angle will also perform a diagnostic function. With the help of these methods, it is possible to change the design of long-wearing deprogrammers and medical devices. The most universal of these methods are the method of electronic recording of the Gothic arch and transcutaneous electroneurostimulation.

INTRODUCTION: Temporomandibular disorders (TMD) and eating disorders (ED) affect function and parafunction of the oral cavity and have high rates of medical and psychological comorbidity. However, little is known about the possible associations between them, and few studies have investigated the existence of such associations. METHODS: A search was conducted on the SciELO, LILACS, and PubMed/MEDLINE databases to find relevant articles written in English and Portuguese. Only studies involving human beings were included, and there was no limit for year of publication. RESULTS AND CONCLUSIONS: There is evidence of the correlation between TMD and ED, but their comorbidity must be better understood. The presence of depressive symptoms is an aggravating factor that must also be taken into account during the diagnosis and treatment of those patients.

The article is devoted to the diagnosis and treatment of patients with musculo-articular dysfunction (MSD) of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) pain syndrome in combination with amplipulsetherapy, fluctuating and orthopedic methods. The purpose of the study - to improve the diagnosis and treatment of patients with chronic generalized periodontitis (present study included) of the DPA and TMJ, with pain, with the help of complex methods of therapy. Made clinical examinations of 98 patients of 35-45 years with MSD and TMJ pain. Identified groups of patients with present study included and MSD with displacement and without displacement of the mandible. Defined electromyographic parameters of bioelectric activity of masticatory and temporal muscles in patients with present study included and MSD. For pain syndrome all patients appointed fluctuating in the area of TMJ. Determined the effectiveness of the treatment, studied diagnostic models in articulator PROTAR (Germany), conducted an electromyography. To eliminate occlusive barriers used mouthguard during sleep. Studies have shown that the use of clear aligners in combination with orthopedic and physiotherapeutic methods is an effective method in the treatment of patients with MDS present study included pain. Okklyuzionny tires change the nature of closing the teeth, affect the periodontium, masticatory muscles and TMJ. Without dental intervention on the occlusal surface they help to diagnose and troubleshoot the DPA in the TMJ due to occlusions violations.

Abstract The muscles of the masticatory system and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) are protected by basic nerve reflex and neuromuscular system through the coordination of muscle forces, all that repetitive muscle overload occurs as habit parafunctional (HPF) can cause temporomandibular disorder TMD)1. The characteristics of HPF are abnormal jaw movements without a functional objective. Being the jaw movements altered, they constitute a source of traumatic forces with an abnormal direction, excessive intensity and long-lasting and frequent duration. (Rolando Hernandez Castillo 2001)4. Objective: was to identify the association between the presences of parafunctional habits of the oral cavity and TMD in adolescents in the Puebla city in Mexico. Material and methods: Is a observational study, we included 258 adolescents 132 (51%) females and 126 (48.8%) were men, mean age 12.5±.73 and who were diagnosed with CDI/TTM and HPF were self- reported by patients. Results: The prevalence of TMD was 39.9% and a prevalence of 86% HPF. The most frequently reported HPF were lip sucking and nail biting. We found a significant association (x2= 7.31, p = 0,007) between HPF and TMD in adolescents. Key words: Parafunctional habits of oral cavity, temporomandibular disorders, temporomandibular joint. (Odontol Pediatr 2011;10(2): 90-94).

A review of the literature on the stages of the formation of temporary and permanent occlusion has been performed. This stages play an important role not only for the full development of the maxillofacial apparatus, temporomandibular joint, but also the whole organism. The role of early tooth extraction in the formation of the physiological state of the dentoalveolar system is considered. The conclusion is drawn about the need for a deeper study of this problem in the structure of general dental morbidity.

Temporomandibular disorder (TMD) encompasses a set of disorders involving the masticatory muscles, the temporomandibular joint and associated structures. It is a complex biopsychosocial disorder with several triggering, predisposing and perpetuating factors. In the etiology of TMD, oral parafunctions, namely bruxism, play a relevant role. The study of bruxism is complicated by some taxonomic and diagnostic aspects that have prevented achieving an acceptable standardization of diagnosis. The aim of this study was to analyze the prevalence of temporomandibular disorders and bruxism in a Portuguese sample.
