The study made an assessment of language laboratory and teaching and learning of English language pronunciation among undergraduate students in Nigerian tertiary institutions. In order to carry out this study, specified research objective was developed from which and used for the study. The research design for this study is an Expost Facto design. The population of this study consisted of all HND II students in Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Ikot Osurua, Ikot Ekepene in 2019/2020 academic session. The sample size for the study is 302 respondents, representing 10% of the student population. The Multi-stage sampling was used to select the respondents. The instrument was validated by two research experts. Data from the completed questionnaires was subjected to percentage analysis. The findings showed and concluded that there is significant effect of language laboratory and teaching and learning of English language pronunciation among undergraduate students in Nigerian tertiary institutions. The study recommended that, Since lecturers quality was significantly related to students’ achievement in English Language pronunciation, lecturers should possess the requisite qualifications before being recruited to teach. Furthermore, the English language lecturers should adopt better teaching strategies during the teaching-learning process.

English language is an International language. This makes the use of English in teaching-learning process in countries, where English is generally not a local medium of communication, become important. Mathematics is also very important for every student, but several previous research showed that students had difficulty in learning this subject. The purpose of this experimental study is to see the effectiveness of the use of English in teaching-learning process of economic mathematics towards economic undergraduate students. The result shows us that students who learn mathematics with English-medium system have better achievement than students who learn mathematics with local language. Another finding was students learn mathematics more enthusiastic when the teaching-learning process is made with the language they chose.Keyword: English language, economic mathematics, teaching learning.

Technology has impacted the learning approaches and vice-versa with an aim to improve the standards of language teaching/learning process. The present study focuses on teachers’ preferences and use of technology in their language classrooms. A survey was conducted to seek opinion of EFL teachers both male and female at the English language center on technology-related competencies. The survey comprised four domains: planning and preparation, classroom management, instruction, and professional responsibilities (Danielson, 2007).The questionnaire was distributed to 100 English language teachers (50 males and 50 females) at Taif University English Language Centre. The responses revealed that most of the teachers thought aware of the technology and its uses in education don’t integrate technology in their teaching at planning and preparation stage. They use the available technological gadget in the classroom to exploit some of the activities. They must use the university LMS for uploading certain activities and assessment otherwise they hesitate to design technology-based activities for English language learners. They and the students need training in integrating technology with teaching and learning process.

The study is aimed to describe the teaching learning process of Syntax Class at Kresna English Language Institute. Those are including of:The teaching learning process, the English teacher’s problem, the problem solving of teacher, the student’s response, and the appropriate material for student.This research design used descriptive qualitative. The subjects were a teacher and 25 students of Syntax Class. The methods were observation, interview, and documentation. Observation used for collecting data on the teaching learning process that consisted of: lesson plan, the material, method, and media that the teachers used in teaching. Interview used for collecting data on the teachers’ preparation, students’ response, and the teachers’ evaluation in teaching learning process. Documentation was used to collect data about a record of events that have passed. This research had some results: (1the teaching learning process was running well by some phases such as : preparation, implementation and evaluation, (2) the problems of the teacher happened in implementation and in evalution phases,(3) in implementation, the problem faced by some  advices and even punishment to the student and in evaluation the problem solved by giving motivation and additional duty,(4) there were more positive responses than negative responses from the students, ( 5 ) the appropriate material in this class was Syntactic stucture and sentence analysis. Theconclusion of this reseach was that the teaching learning process ran well, but there were some activities of teacher that were not suitable with lesson plan.

Several researches indicate that undergraduate students are unsatisfied with their learning experience at university. One of the reasons is the non-effective communication between teachers and students. The non-effective communication may cause problems in teaching and learning, which are fundamental and professional skills that teachers and students must continually develop. Problems in teaching and learning impact directly the learning experience at university of the students, and improve the communication between teachers and students can solve the problems. The communication and, consequently, the teaching and learning, can be improved using the undergraduate student’s feedback. In this paper, a methodology to improve the teaching and learning is presented. The methodology is based on the use of undergraduate student’s feedback, and it was utilized in an electrical engineering classroom during one year. Based on the results, teaching, learning, communication, motivation, engagement and satisfaction of the teacher and students have improved correlating the methodology with the learning process and growth mindset.

Abstract: Introduction: Mini-CEX is an evaluation method that covers the domains: anamnesis, physical examination, counseling, clinical judgment, organization, and professionalism. It has been tested and validated for use in any practice scenario. With its characteristic of providing feedback after a clinical assessment, the Mini-CEX can also be used as a training method to guide the professional development of students and teachers, promoting greater knowledge retention in undergraduate students and continuously providing information for students to realize how far they are from the desired objectives. The aim of this study was to assess the perception of interns, residents, and preceptors of Internal Medicine (IM) regarding the Mini-CEX instrument. Methods: Qualitative study, using the focus group technique, carried out from February to July 2017. Twenty interns, thirteen residents, and five IM preceptors participated. It consisted of six focus groups, two with interns, two with residents, and two with preceptors, using semi-structured questions that identified perceptions, through the methodology used, on the quality of the evaluation and possible repercussions for the teaching-learning process. Results: In the focus group of interns, the feedback moment of the assessment was considered essential for the learning process, although the bedside assessment was tense due to the preceptor’s presence. The residents reported that the evaluation was a valid one, as it led them to review some points in the medical literature, in addition to stimulating clinical reasoning in the face of a real situation. The preceptors validated the importance of the feedback for those who were evaluated and identified the bedside assessment as a moment for the best analysis of the individualities. Conclusion: Through the perceptions of the groups in focus, the mini-CEX was identified as a fundamental instrument for the teaching and learning process of all those involved and the need to structure the moment of feedback aiming to attain a more effective result. During the bedside assessment, the stimulus to clinical reasoning was identified as a positive point and the strangeness, anxiety, and tension as negative points.

This research aimed to describe the evaluation of ELLIS (English Language Learning and Instruction System) Program in English teaching and learning process in SMP Bopkri 3 Yogyakarta in terms of the context, input, process, and product aspects.This research is an evaluation research employing CIPP model by Stufflebeam (2010). The data were collected through observation, open questionnaires, and interviews and were analyzed using Miles, Huberman and Saldana’s flow model of qualitative data research which included data collection, data condensation, data display and conclusion drawing.The findings revealed that the evaluation of ELLIS Program in English teaching and learning process in SMP Bopkri 3 Yogyakarta related to the process of context was in line with the objective of the program that is improving the students’ English skills and the program can support the English teaching-learning process. In term of input, the program is appropriate according to the required standard for good teaching learning English, this program is supported by the school’s entire component, the facilities of the teaching-learning process is completed, the material in ELLIS program can apply consecutively to be able to improve students’ English skill. On the process of teaching and learning has appropriated, the schedules of ELLIS program is held correctly and on time, every meeting the teacher always use ELLIS, the procedures and activities ELLIS program are implemented correctly, the students always participate actively during the learning process, the students more interested in learning English. Dealing with product the students more understand, easier in catching the material and more comfortable in taking part of the learning process, they feel happy and feel that their ability in learning English increase, the students’ English skill can improve successfully, the students can communicate with the teacher and their other friends in English correctly, the aim of this program can hold successfully. Between 250-300 words; must focus on: aims of the study, methods, findings, conclusions, and implications.

Storybooks are important materials for teachers in assisting pupils during the teaching learning process in the classroom especially for the young learners because it gives a motivating and meaningful context for language learning. Nowadays, teachers have to be creative and innovative in creating their own storybooks for the teaching learning process. The project of making storybooks had been given to the undergraduate students of 8th semester (2010) at English Language Department, University of PGRI Adi Buana during TEYL (Teaching English to Young Learners) class. Through the results of storybooks project, this research was intended to know whether the undergraduate students’ storybooks met the criteria of a good storybook or not. The authors obtained the data from the questionnaires that distributed to ten English teachers in some elementary schools in Surabaya. The result of this research showed that 75% of students’ storybooks met the criteria of good storybooks, such as the content is suitable for age level, interesting, memorable, attractive, and easily to understand by children. The result of creating a storybook hopefully will support and help teachers in the teaching learning process in class.

Tracer Study is also useful in providing important information about the relationship between tertiary institutions and the professional work world, assessing the relevance of tertiary education, information for stakeholders, and completeness of requirements for tertiary accreditation. This study had two orientations, namely: (a) as a tracer study as the information from alumni would be used as input to improve the learning process and increase the relevance of graduate competencies to the job market needs; (b) as an application of a descriptive research approach in which the results of data tracking information from alumni were analyzed and described in tables and diagrams. This study resulted in interesting findings. First, accounting department of Universitas Islam Negeri Suska was a favorite major in accordance with the primary choice of the alumni when studying in college. Second, most of the alumni wanted to work in government, but in reality, most of them worked as private employees. Third, most of the alumni worked in accordance with the field studied and the majors taken during education. Fourth, alumni had the ability which is not less competitive compared to alumni from other tertiary institutions. Fifth, increased time of practical work in companies/government agencies was given to able to improve the experience needed in the job market. Sixth, there were several competencies that need to be improved, namely teaching and learning process, which include English language skills, computer skills and specific practice majors.   Keywords : Tracer Study, Accounting Alumni

The media if used in the educational setting will complement the teaching-learning process. It will make the English language teaching better and more effective, and will also ‘enhance the students’ ability and to attract students’ attention in order to understand and experiment with the language. This research aims at: (1) describing how Flash Media used in teaching and learning of reading, (2) describing the other media that are used to support Flash Media in teaching and learning of reading, and (3) describing the difficulties of implementing Macro Media Flash Player in teaching and learning of reading. This research applies a case study method as one of qualitative research. The subject of the research were the English teacher and students on the ninth grade of one junior high school in Wonogiri. The data were collected through non-participant observation, interview, and documentation. In analyzing the data, the researcher used interactive model of analysis data by Miles and Huberman. The findings of the research show that the implementation of the Macromedia Flash Player has shown positive relation in supporting teaching and learning process. The other supporting media were also play the role to complete the teaching and learning experiences. It is hoped that the result can encourage English teachers to explore more medium and implement it in teaching and learning.

<p>The controversy of using L1 or L2 only in second language classes has been widely discussed in many studies. Some teachers, however, opt for the middle ground by employing the bilingual approach; they practice code switching to some extent to facilitate teaching learning process.  In the context of BIPA teaching and learning this issue has not been sufficiently addressed. Therefore, this study seeks to explore the teachers as well as the students’ attitude towards the practice of code-switching in BIPA classes, specifically in the basic level classes. The factors behind its practice will also be discussed in the light of its benefit and hindrance for teaching learning process. This study employed a quantitative research design by conducting a survey and a qualitative research design by interpreting the result of the interview with the teachers and students. In general the study indicates the need of code-switching to support teaching and learning process, especially for the beginner level classes.</p><em>BAHASA INDONESIA ABSTRAK: Kontroversi penggunaan hanya bahasa pertama atau bahasa kedua dalam kelas bahasa kedua telah banyak dibahas dalam banyak penelitian. Meskipun demikian, sebagian pengajar memilih jalan tengah dengan menggunakan pendekatan dwi-bahasa; mereka menggunakan alih kode sampai kadar tertentu untuk memudahkan proses belajar mengajar. Dalam konteks belajar mengajar BIPA isu ini kurang banyak dibahas. Karena itu, studi ini ingin mengkaji sikap para pengajar maupun pelajar terhadap praktek alih kode di kelas BIPA, khususnya di kelas tingkat  dasar. Faktor-faktor di balik praktek tsb juga akan dibahas dalam perspektif kelebihan dan kekurangannya untuk proses belajar mengajar. Penelitian ini bersifat kuantitatif dengan mengadakan survei dan juga kualitatif dengan melakukan intepretasi terhadap hasil wawancara dengan pengajar dan pelajarnya. Secara umum, studi ini mengindikasikan perlunya alih kode untuk mendukung proses belajar mengajar, khusunya untuk kelas tingkat dasar.</em>
