This study aimed to show the obstacles that prevent the employment of science and mathematics teachers in employing future skills in basic education schools. A sample of (157) male and female teachers, and (51) supervisors. The results of the study revealed that the degree of obstacles faced by science and mathematics teachers in employing future skills in basic education schools in the Sultanate of Oman. From the point of view of teachers and educational supervisors, it came to a large extent with an arithmetic mean (3,64). The results also indicated that there were no statistically significant differences at the level of significance (α = 0.05) between the average degree of obstacles due to job variables, while the results indicated that there were statistically significant differences at the level of significance (α = 0.05) between The average degree of obstacles is due to the variable of specialization in favor of mathematics teachers. The researchers recommended the necessity of urging teachers to apply modern teaching strategies and assessment activities that focus on future skills, and to reduce administrative burdens on teachers.

The aim of study was to reveal the reasons for the reluctance of students in the tenth grade to choose physics in the Sultanate of Oman, from the point of view of the students themselves post-basic education schools. The study used the descriptive analytical approach. The sample of the study consisted of 367 students and it was selected in a stratified random method. A questionnaire was developed to answer the research questions. The results of the study showed that the reasons related to the subjects of physics and to the science teachers have a high level of influence in the reluctance of students to choose physics.  The results showed statistically significant differences at the level of significance (α = 0.05) in the axis of the reasons related to physics subjects in favor of female students and differences in the axis of the reasons related to the students themselves. Consequently, the researcher recommended analyzing the subjects and the curricula of physics by specialists in the fields of education and science and redesigns them in accordance with the scientific development and levels of students according to international standards. The researcher directed school professionals to intensify guidance for 10th grade students towards the requirements of the labor market associated with physics.

Today, English Language has become the language of communication in every area which includes economics, politics, technologies as well as education. It also has been placed as a second language in Malaysia due to its importance. Dual language programme (DLP) has been introduced and implemented in selected school since 2016 as an initiative programme to give the pupils the opportunity to use English Language in learning Science and Mathematics. It aimed to produce proficient pupils in the international lingua franca language. Thus, this study was conducted to examine the teachers’ perceptions towards the implementation of DLP and to identify the factors that affect the implementation of DLP in urban schools. English, Science and Mathematics teachers from urban schools that implemented DLP were selected as respondents for this study. In order to achieve the objectives of this study, a set of questionnaire was developed and interview session were conducted to gather their point of view. Data was analysed using descriptive analysis. The results from the questionnaires and interview were presented in tables and figures and showed that the teachers have positive perceptions towards the implementation of DLP. However, there were some challenges faced by the teachers such as lack of teaching resources and facilities. This study’s result aspires the ministry and DLP teachers to discover the possible solution to improve the implementing the programme.

    The present study aimed to identify the application level of governance principles from the point of view of cycle two teachers of basic education schools in the governorates of Al- Dakhiliya and South Al- Sharqiya in the Sultanate of Oman. The study used the descriptive method depending on the questionnaire tool which consist of 29 statements distributed to a sample of 410 teachers from cycle two school in Al Dakhliya and South Al Sharqiya governorate. The results of the study showed that the level of application of the governance principles obtained an overall average (3.71 out of 5), with an application level (high), and at the level of dimensions, the first dimension obtained transparency with the highest average (3.80), then the accountability dimension with an average (3.75), and the two were at a (high) level. While the third was the participation dimension with an average of (3.67), and finally the justice dimension with an average of (3.59), and the two were with the level of application (average). The results also showed that there are no statistically significant differences at the level of significance less than (0.05) between the averages of the estimates of the teachers of the second cycle of basic education schools in the governorates of Al Dakhiliya and South Al Sharqiya in the Sultanate of Oman for the application of governance principles due to variables (years of experience, educational qualification), while there are statistically significant differences at the level of significance less than (0.05) due to variables (gender). In favor of females, and based on the results, the researchers presented a set of recommendations and proposals to improve the level of application of governance principles in schools of the second cycle of basic education in the governorates of Al Dakhiliyah, South Al Sharqiyah and the whole of the Sultanate.
