Background/Purpose: Yakshagana is a theatre style that combines varieties of make-up styles and dressing styles depending on the type of character or role that is to be played on the stage. This article briefly discusses certain areas of Yakshagana where technology can be used for object detection and make-up recognition to classify and identify the characters. Objective: The main objective of this literature survey is to summarize the techniques used to identify different objects in a Yakahagana image & to identify the different makeup styles to recognize the type of characters. This paper also recommends the technical methods that can be used to promote Yakshagana. Methodology: Information is collected from various scholarly articles, books, and web pages. Findings/Results: Based on the analysis of the papers reviewed, it is observed that, no much work is carried out in the field of object detection & make-up detection in Yakshagana. This survey paper recommends techniques and the methodology that can be applied to the Yakshanaga field to identify and classify the objects and detect the patterns in makeup in Yakshagana roles. Limitations: The study is limited to crown & jewelry detection and pattern recognition in facial makeup in Yakshagana Originality: This paper focuses on the summary of techniques used to identify the objects, facial recognition, and pattern in make-up detection. Paper Type: A Literature survey paper on techniques and methods used to meet the required objectives.

Facial recognition has attracted the attention of researchers and has been one of the most prominent topics in the fields of image processing and pattern recognition since 1990. This resulted in a very large number of recognition methods and techniques with the aim of increasing the accuracy and robustness of existing systems. Many techniques have been developed to address the challenges and reliable recognition systems have been reached but require considerable processing time, suffer from high memory consumption and are relatively complex. The focus of this paper is on extracting subset of descriptors (less correlated and less calculations) from the co-occurrence matrix with the goal of enhancing the performance of Haralick’s descriptors. Improvements are achieved by adding the image pre-processing and selecting the proper method according to the database problem and by extracting features from image local regions.

Purpose – The main purpose of this paper is to illustrate the role of accounting and accounting professionals in sustainability by conducting an in-depth literature review. Design/methodology/approach – This is a review-based article that does not contain empirical research. A comprehensive literature research was conducted by using online databases of selected scientific publishers and using keywords such as accounting, accounting professionals, sustainability, sustainability reporting and sustainability accounting. In addition to that, web pages of the accounting regulatory bodies and four big audit companies were also investigated. Findings – Based upon the literature survey, it can be said that there is a lack of defining the relationship between the sustainability concept and accounting and also potential solutions to overcome the problems which create challenges for accounting and accounting professionals. Research limitations/implications – The only limitation of the study can be explained as it being a literature survey. Practical implications – It is expected that the results of the paper will appear in several applications among accounting professionals, the firm that they work in, the association of professional accountants, education institutions and all the stakeholders of accounting, especially in countries with the relatively early stage of sustainability practices. The paper may give insight into aforementioned stakeholders of accounting in reformation of accounting toward sustainability. Originality/value – The main contribution of this paper is to fulfill the gap in the accounting and sustainability literature by suggesting “certified sustainability accountant” credential that is equipped with core knowledge of environmental engineering as a specialized profession to handle the technical accounting problems that are related to sustainability.

The wealth of medical information in the Web makes it expedient for non-experts to conduct their own diagnosis and healthcare assessment based on limited knowledge of signs, symptoms, and disorders. The goal of this chapter is to explain how to measure trust of websites that provide functionalities like Online Medical Diagnosis and exploration of Symptoms Analysis using fuzzy logic and soft computing techniques. Trust is qualitative and can be measured by analyzing how people interact with the websites. The interaction can be captured and analyzed by studying website logs using tools like Google analytics, click tail, etc. The chapter also provides a literature survey on the work being conducted by researchers in area of measuring website trust and tools being developed for same. It also covers archetypal techniques used for Web pattern recognition and taxonomy of trust. The main point driven by this literature survey is the frequent use of fuzzy logic in the design and implementation of trust measuring tools. This point is contrasted with the up-to-the-minute information, more specifically the authors' current work, on the use of a rule-based expert for developing trust-measuring tools.

The World Wide Web (WWW) allows the people to share the information (data) from the large database repositories globally. The tremendous growth in the volume of data and with the terrific growth of number of web pages, traditional search engines now days are not appropriate and not suitable anymore. Search engine is the most important tool to discover any information in World Wide Web. Semantic Search Engine is born of traditional search engine to overcome the above problem. However, to overcome this problem in search engines to retrieve meaningful information intelligently, semantic web technologies are playing a major role. In this paper the authors present survey on the role of search engines in intelligent web, Background, Challenges and some issues.
