Gambaran Dukungan Keluarga Dan Kepatuhan Diet Pada Pasien Diabetes Mellitus Tipe 2: Literature Review

AbstractDiabetes mellitus is a chronic disease that is closely related to lifestyle. This disease is exprienced by many people in the world. The family has to provide support that can have a positive impact on dietary complience. It can be in the form of being able to control what can be consumed according to the recommendations of health workers during the diet, reminding each other, and providing support to family members who are on a diabetes mellitus diet. To determine the description of family support and dietary complience in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. The research method used in this study was a literature review by conducting an online searh from the Medline database source and the Garuda portal. There were 5 articles found that matched the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The results showed that 361 respondents (52,7%) had good family support and 432 respondents (63%) had non-adherent dietary compliance levels. Good family support can prevent complications and help treatment so that patients are more enthusiastic and can carry out activites as usual. Dietary non-compliance can delay the patient’s recovery. Familly support, although it is good, does not guarantee that dietary complience will also be good. Other factors can affect dietary complience, such as age, education, and occupation.Keywords: Type 2 diabetes mellitus; family suppor; dietary complience   AbstrakDiabetes mellitus merupakan penyakit kronis yang berhubungan erat dengan pola hidup, penyakit ini banyak dialami oleh penduduk di dunia. Keterlibatan keluarga merupakan langkah yang harus ditempuh untuk memberikan dukungan yang dapat berdampak positif terhadap kepatuhan diet. Dampak positif dukungan keluarga terhadap kepatuhan diet adalah dapat mengontrol apa saja yang dapat dikonsumsi sesuai anjuran tenaga kesehatan selama diet, saling mengingatkan, serta memberikan support kepada anggota keluarga yang sedang menjalankan diet diabetes mellitus. Untuk mengetahui gambaran dukungan keluarga dan kepatuhan diet pada pasien diabetes mellitus tipe 2. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu literature review dengan melakukan penelusuran online dari sumber database medline dan portal garuda didapatkan 5 artikel yang sesuai kriteria inklusi dan ekslusi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan sebanyak 361 responden (52,7%) memiliki dukungan keluarga baik dan 432 responden (63%) memiliki tingkat kepatuhan diet tidak patuh. Dukungan keluarga baik dapat mencegah terjadinya komplikasi serta membantu pengobatan sehingga pasien lebih semangat dan dapat melakukan aktivitas seperti biasa. Ketidakpatuhan diet dapat memperlampat penyembuhan pasien. Walaupun dukungan keluarga baik, tidak menjamin kepatuhan diet akan baik, karena terdapat faktor lain yang mempengaruhi kepatuhan diet yaitu seperti usia, pendidikan, dan pekerjaan.Kata Kunci: Diabetes mellitus tipe 2; dukungan keluarga; kepatuhan diet

AbstractDiabetes mellitus is a chronic disease that cannot be cured, but can be prevented by using the 5 pillars of diabetes mellitus management, one of which is controlling blood sugar levels. Patients with diabetes mellitus need support from the family because the family can influence a person's behavior and lifestyle so that it has an impact on the quality of life of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. To determine the relationship between family support and blood sugar levels in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus through a literature review. The data collection technique uses a literature review method of 5 articles sourced from an online database with electronic searches on Google Scholar, Garba Garuda, and ProQuest published in 2017-2021. The critical analysis instrument used is using a strobe. The results of a literature review on the family support variable were 2 articles with supporting categories as many as 128 respondents, 2 articles with less categories as many as 63 respondents, and 1 article with good categories as many as 22 respondents. Variable blood sugar levels 2 articles in the controlled category as many as 98 respondents, 1 article in the poor category as many as 45 respondents, 1 article in the controlled category as many as 17 respondents, and 1 article in the diabetes category as many as 29 respondents. Untuk mengetahui hubungan dukungan keluarga dengan kadar gula darah pada pasien diabetes mellitus tipe 2 melalui literature review. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan metode literature review 5 artikel yang bersumber database online dengan penelusuran elektronik pada Google Scholar, Garba Garuda, dan ProQuest yang dipublish pada tahun 2017-2021. Instrumen telaah kritis yang digunakan yaitu menggunakan Strobe. Hasil literature review pada variable dukungan keluarga 2 artikel dengan kategori mendukung sebanyak 128 responden, 2 artikel dengan kategori kurang sebanyak 63 responden, dan 1 artikel dengan kategori baik sebanyak 22 responden. Variable kadar gula darah 2 artikel dengan kategori terkendali sebanyak 98 responden, 1 artikel dengan kategori buruk sebanyak 45 responden, 1 artikel dengan kategori terkontrol sebanyak 17 responden, dan 1 artikel dengan kategori diabetes sebanyak 29 responden. Type 2 diabetes mellitus is type of DM which has suffered by almost 90% people in the world. Type 2 diabetes mellitus require long-term treatment to improve the quality of life. This research aims to analyze the relationship of family support with the quality of life of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Type of research is observational analytic with cross sectional design. The population of the research was patients of type 2 diabetes mellitus who visit the clinic in Pademawu in May-June 2017. The sample is most sufferers DM who perform outpatient Puskesmas in Pademawu May-June 2017. A large sample was 50 respondents which randomly selected or use simple random sampling. The variables examined are the characteristics of respondents (age, gender, level of education, long suffering, complications) and family support. The chi square test results with significance level of 5% (α= 0.05) showed variables which associated with quality of life of type 2 diabetes mellitus significantly is family support (p =0.00) and complications of DM (p = 0.011). The conclusion is the variable family support and complications have significant relationship with the quality of life of type 2 diabetes mellitus in the clinic Pademawu, Pamekasan. The advice is expected for health workers in Clinics Pademawu to further enhance health promotion about the importance of family support programs against sufferers and families to extend the life of sufferers of type 2 diabetes mellitus.Keywords: Type 2 diabetes mellitus, family support, quality of life, non-infection disease

Background: Diabetes mellitus (DM) is one of the leading causes of death and it is caused by genetics, nutrition, and unhealthy behaviors. Therefore, changes in lifestyle associated with eating behaviors in diabetes mellitus patients greatly impact on their quality of life. There are many factors related with changes in lifestyle of diabetes mellitus patients, especially eating behaviors.Purpose: This study aims to examine the relationships between self-efficacy, psychological stress, family support, and eating behaviors among type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) patients in Sidoarjo, Indonesia.Method: A total of 117 T2DM patients from the Sidoarjo Community Health Center were included in the analysis. Using SPSS IBM 21.0 program, Pearson product moment correlation was performed to analyze data.Results: The findings showed that self-efficacy and family support had positive relationship with eating behaviors (r = .692, p < .001; r = .683, p < .001, respectively). Psychological stress had negative relationship with eating behaviors (r = -.327, p < .001).Conclusion: Self-efficacy, family support, and psychological stress had relationship with eating behaviors. Nurses should pay attention to the factors to make T2DM patients into a long-term commitment toward healthy eating behaviors.

  Introduction: Diabetes self-care is an effort to control type 2 diabetes mellitus. Family support and self-efficacy are needed for elderly people with type 2 diabetes mellitus to increase independence in managing their disease. This study aims to determine the relationship between family support and self-efficacy with self-care behavior in the elderly with type 2 diabetes mellitus at the Elderly Posyandu in Wadungasri Village. Methods: This study is a quantitative study with a correlational analytic research design using a cross-sectional approach. The population in this study was 132 elderly with type 2 diabetes mellitus using a probability sampling method with a technique used simple random sampling and obtained a sample of 100 elderly DM type 2. Results: The results showed that most of the elderly have family support and good self-efficacy. with less self-care behavior. The results of the analysis using the Spearman rank test showed that family support was associated with self-care for people with diabetes mellitus type 2 (p-value = 0.006, ɑ = 0.05). The results of the Spearman rank test analysis showed that self-efficacy was related to self-care for people with diabetes mellitus type 2 (p-value = 0.001, ɑ = 0.05). Conclusion: Family support and self-efficacy gave to elderly people with type 2 diabetes mellitus can influence health behavior patterns that will make self-care behavior well.
