We propose a new blockchain-based framework for a completely decentralized stock market and bitcoin exchange in this paper. By proposing a groundbreaking framework utilizing blockchain to build a decentralized bitcoin and stock exchange network, this paper discusses the shortcomings of conventional centralized stock exchange platforms, High transaction costs, vulnerable centralized governance, and a lack of clarity in consumer behavior and algorithms are just a few of the problems. Blockchain technology consists of a large number of computer nodes that share a shared ledger securely without the need for intermediaries of any sort. The proposed blockchain-based solution addresses the disadvantages of the centralized stock exchange architecture by ensuring the integrity and security of the properties and orders of the owner, by self-enforcing intelligent agreements between parties, and by consensus algorithms, by achieving democratic and effective decisions on the execution and settlement of orders. Intelligent contracts are used in the proposed architecture to enforce the validation of the owner's rights as well as the proper execution and settlement of orders, reducing the need for a central authority to ensure that the stock exchange process is accurate. The proposed system proposes a hybrid platform that incorporates cryptocurrency and stock trading. The solution was tested for a subset of rules for the Stock Exchange by implementing a prototype in Ethereum.

There are so many applications based on blockchain technology, including those covering numerous fields like financial services, non-financial services, internet of things (IoT), and so on. Blockchain combines a distributed database and decentralized ledger without the need of verification by central authority. This chapter surveys the different consensus algorithms, blockchain challenges, and their scope. There are still many challenges of this technology, such as scalability and security problems, waiting to be overcome. The consensus algorithms of blockchain are proof of work (POW), proof of stake (POS), ripple protocol consensus algorithm (RPCA), delegated proof of stake (dPOS), stellar consensus protocol (SCP), and proof of importance (POI). This chapter discusses the core concept of blockchain and some mining techniques, consensus problems, and consensus algorithms and comparison algorithms on the basis of performance.

Blockchain being a leading technology in the 21st century is revolutionizing each sector of life. Services are being provided and upgraded using its salient features and fruitful characteristics. Businesses are being enhanced by using this technology. Countries are shifting towards digital currencies i.e., an initial application of blockchain application. It omits the need of central authority by its distributed ledger functionality. This distributed ledger is achieved by using a consensus mechanism in blockchain. A consensus algorithm plays a core role in the implementation of blockchain. Any application implementing blockchain uses consensus algorithms to achieve its desired task. In this paper, we focus on provisioning of a comparative analysis of blockchain’s consensus algorithms with respect to the type of application. Furthermore, we discuss the development platforms as well as technologies of blockchain. The aim of the paper is to provide knowledge from basic to extensive from blockchain architecture to consensus methods, from applications to development platform, from challenges and issues to blockchain research gaps in various areas.

Trading frequency can be said as the implementation from trader of commerce. This case based on positive or negative trader reaction given by trader information.  Stock trading in BEI always fluctuate with price of volume value and frequency particularly. Frequency itself shows the company  involved or not. In trading frequency, if the indicator frequency it self shown the higher point, it means better. In spite of the most important thing is how the fluctuation or value conversion itself. On the frequencies we also could see which stocks is interested by the investor. When trading frequency high, it  may be create sense of interest from investors.The aim of this research, in order to know how far the effect of trading frequency (X) with stock value (Y) using cover stock value. The information used is begin 2008 with sample from twelve property and real estate companies. According to the research can be conclude from twelve companies in Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2008, 75 % of trading frequency samples doesn’t have signification degree between trading frequency and stock value. Stock trading, used to predict the direction of future stock prices, is a dynamic business primarily based on human intuition. This involves analyzing some non-linear fundamental and technical stock variables which are recorded periodically. This study presents the development of an ANN-based prediction model for forecasting closing price in the stock markets. The major steps taken are identification of technical variables used for prediction of stock prices, collection and pre-processing of stock data, and formulation of the ANN-based predictive model. Stock data of periods between 2010 and 2014 were collected from the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) and stored in a database. The data collected were classified into training and test data, where the training data was used to learn non-linear patterns that exist in the dataset; and test data was used to validate the prediction accuracy of the model. Evaluation results obtained from WEKA shows that discrepancies between actual and predicted values are insignificant.

The objective of this research is to develop a web-based-online-stock-simulation application applying Virtual Private Network (VPN) technology. The web-based application is prefered for user’s convenience and comfort since it does not require any software to be installed on the client side and is also accessable anywhere and anytime with internet connection availability. The application is developed by means of analysis and design towards the technology needed to establish the connectivity between servers through internet as well as database analysis and design. The data are real time derived from the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) and forwarded through an official data vendor PT XYZ. Data from the IDX will be captured by a middleware application at PT XYZ and forwarded to www.kontan.co.id. This application has been tested and succesfully run by around 700 users. This tool is expected to provide a kind of education and motivation to beginner-level investors who want to be engaged with the stock-trading activities.

This paper explores the operational activities of the London Stock Exchange in the 21st century to provide an overview of its operational transparency and competitiveness; the competition among its market participants and how it competes with other developed stock exchanges around the world. Evidence was found that suggests the manifestation of both competitive and uncompetitive practices in the London Stock Exchange. The presence of the key elements that enhance the competitiveness of the market, such as continued technology transformation, strategies that promote globalisation and regulatory flexibilities was observed. Simultaneously, signs of non-competitiveness such as high membership and annual fees, transaction costs and stamp duties were also observed.

The problem in this research is the need for fast and accurate information in the format of the presentation of financial statements resulting in the distribution of information, and data management can be problematic. Therefore, a format for financial reporting systems, namely Extensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL), was formed. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of XBRL technology, stock prices, Return on Assets (ROA), and institutional ownership on market efficiency (information asymmetry and stock trading volume). The population and sample of this study are banking companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange from 2015-2016. The sampling method using a purposive sampling method and obtained a sample of 42 companies. Data collection techniques are carried out by taking data from the Indonesia Stock Exchange website (www.idx.co.id) and the site http://finance.yahoo.com. Data were analyzed with multiple regression tests after being declared normal with the normality test and though using SPSS 20. The results of this study simultaneously stated that XBRL technology, stock prices, ROA, and institutional ownership together have an influence on information asymmetry and stock trading volume. From the results of the study, it can be concluded that XBRL technology, stock prices, ROA, and institutional ownership cause a decrease in the level of information asymmetry and trading volume. This result also states that the company is in excellent condition when the value of information asymmetry decreases, but it is not good when the trading volume of its shares also decreases. Keywords: XBRL Technology; Stock Prices; Market Efficiency; Information Asymmetry; Stock Trading Volume.

The purpose of this study was to test the market reaction to the announcement of the Sri Kehati Index on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The population in this study is all companies included in the Sri Kehati Index from 2013 to 2016. The selection of samples was taken by the population sampling method. Hypothesis testing is done by paired t test and Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The findings of this research are: 1) there is no difference in abnormal returns before and after the announcement of the Sri Kehati Index on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. 2) There is a difference in the activity of stock trading volume before and after the announcement of the Sri Kehati index in the 5th and 6th periods, but there is no difference in the activity of stock trading volume in other periods. The Indonesia Stock Exchange did not react consistently to the announcement of the Sri Kehati Index.
