The purpose of this study is to investigate the factors affecting the acceptance and use of the APTS by its potential users. To achieve this, an integrated and expanded user acceptance model is introduced to explain the factors affecting the Behavioral Intention to use the APTS. A total of 316 surveys were conducted, from 275 participants by online surveys and 41 participants by face to face interviews. With the data that are acquired from Public Transportation (PT) users in Istanbul, the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology 2 (UTAUT2) Model is modified and Performance Expectancy, Effort Expectancy, Social Influence, Facilitating Conditions, Hedonic Motivation, Price Value, Habit, Trust and Safety, Perceived Usefulness, Perceived Risk and Behavioral Intention constructs are utilized in the model. Age, gender and frequency of PT usage are included in the model to examine the moderating effect on the constructs while the model is tested with Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The proposed model explains the 72 % of variances in this study which proves that the model has stronger predictive power compared with the previous Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and UTAUT models. Performance Expectancy, Social Influence, Habit, and Trust and Safety constructs are concluded to have significant positive effects on Behavioral Intention. Public usage and acceptance are necessary for the complete utilization of APTS. The findings of these studies are hoped to guide the decision-makers of the PT industry to understand the factors affecting the use and acceptance of APTS and take the actions accordingly.

The goal of this research is to develop and test a theoretical model of the effects of intrinsic and extrinsic motivations on user acceptance of Internet-based information services. The model, referred to as the integrated model of technology acceptance, is being developed with two major objectives. First, it should improve our understanding of user acceptance behavior, providing new theoretical insights into the successful design and implementation of Internet-based information services. Second, the integrated model should provide the theoretical basis for a practical system design and analysis approach that would enable practitioners to develop new information services or modify their current services. For user acceptance to be viable, the model of user acceptance must be valid. The present research takes several steps toward establishing a valid motivational model of the user, and aims to provide the foundation for future research that will lead toward this end. Research steps taken in the present research include: (1) choosing U&G (Uses and Gratifications) theory, a well-studied theoretical approach from mass communication to formulate an integrated technology acceptance model with TAM (Technology Acceptance Model); (2) developing and pre-testing the measures for the model’s factors in two pilot studies; (3) conducting two rounds of data collection and analyze them to prove that the integrated model is applicable to the present context; (4) reviewing literature in both information systems and mass communication to demonstrate that empirical support exists for various elements of the proposed model, and (5) using advanced statistical technique, structural equation modeling (SEM), to test the model’s structure. The results confirm our proposed integrated model. The model posits that entertainment motivation is another important factor in determining the use of online services in addition to the behavioral intention, as postulated by TAM. The integrated model also confirms that TAM’s belief constructs, perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness, are predictors of behavioral intention. Furthermore, perceived usefulness predicts behavioral intention. It also argues that the level of use influences the degree of satisfaction. Satisfaction is a construct that is heavily studied due to its important role as an indicator of system success.

PurposeThis study aims to investigate the external and internal stimuli, which affect the organismic experiences of the users and thereby influence their response in terms of behavioral intention toward the use of online doctor consultation platforms.Design/methodology/approachThe study operationalized the stimulus–organism–response framework for the research model and surveyed 357 users in India who had experienced online doctor consultation platforms. The analysis has been done using the structural equation modeling approach.FindingsThe authors’ main results indicate the following key points. One, perceived usefulness, social influence, health anxiety, offline consultation habit and perceived technology usage risk are significant predictors of perceived value. In contrast, perceived ubiquity is identified to be an insignificant predictor of perceived value. Second, social influence and perceived technology usage risk have significant influence on trust. However, perceived usefulness is not a significant predictor of trust.Research limitations/implicationsThis study contributes to the theory by integrating technology-oriented factors with behavioral attributes for determining the behavioral intention of users toward the online doctor consultation platforms.Practical implicationsThe managerial contributions of this study involve highlighting those technology-oriented and behavioral elements, which can be targeted to attract more users toward these platforms.Originality/valueThis is an original study that has looked beyond the role of technology-oriented factors in influencing the perceived value and trust elements while investigating the behavioral intention among the users toward the online doctor consultation platforms.

This study seeks to explore the factors that influence students’ usage behaviour of e-learning systems. Based on the strong theoretical foundation of the TAM, UTAM and using structural equation modeling (SEM) via AMOS 20.0, this research paper examines the impact of performance expectancy, effort expectancy, hedonic motivation, habit, social influence, and trust on student’s behavioural intention, which is later examined along with facilitating conditions on student’s usage behaviour of e-learning systems. Data was collected from students at two universities in Beirut (capital of Lebanon) using a cross-sectional questionnaire survey between January and March 2015. The results revealed direct positive effect of performance expectancy, hedonic motivation, habit, and trust on student’s behavioural intention to use e-learning explaining around 71% of overall behavioural intention. Meanwhile, behavioural intention and facilitating conditions accounted for 40% with strong positive effects on student’s usage behviour of e-learning systems. However, both effort expectancy and social influence did not impact student’s behavioural intention.

This research intended to understand the factors affecting the acceptance of Bitcoin technology in Indonesia. It adopted the model of Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT), which took into account four influencing factors. Those were performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, and facilitating conditions. The factors of gender and age were assumed to moderate the relations between those four factors and use and behavioral intention. The empirical data for those factors were collected by questionnaires from 49 respondents. The statistical significance of the relationships was evaluated by multivariate regression analysis. The result is a model that matches the data with R2 = 0,678. It demonstrates a high level of fitness. The analysis suggests that the performance expectancy factor and the social influence factor greatly affect the behavioral intention to use Bitcoin with the values of t-statistic of 3,835 (p-value = 0,000) for the former factor and 1,948 (0,059) for the latter factor. However, the social influence factor has less profound effect on the behavioral intention.

The current era is called the information age, where humans really need information. The existence of the internet on smartphones makes it easier for humans to get information and enjoy content wherever and whenever. One of the content services in Indonesia is the MNC Group's RCTI + application. Although RCTI + is a new company, RCTI + has an active number of users of 302,569 until November 2019. RCTI + has a fairly high market share because the digital era is growing rapidly. This study measures the interest of users of RCTI + applications in Indonesia by using a modified UTAUT2 research model, where researchers analyze the variables Performance Expectancy, Effort Expectancy, Social Influence, Facilitating Conditions, Hedonic Motivation, Habit, and Content on Behavioral Intention. The data used in this study were 89 valid respondents obtained online using a questionnaire. Respondents are users of the RCTI + application. Researchers used Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with SmartPLS software version 3.0 to test hypotheses. The results showed that Performance Expectancy, Effort Expectancy, Social Influence, Facilitating Conditions, Habit and Content had an influence on Behavioral Intention. However, Hedonic Motivations has a negative influence on Behavioral Intention. The Age variable as a moderator variable influences Content on Behavioral Intention, while Gender has no effect. This study resulted in an R2 of 0,900 and included in the moderate category. This research, has found that the variable that most influences Behavioral Intention is Habit.
