In the Ural of the nonblack earth zone of Russia, fiber flax variety Diane from France and selection number ER-138 from Russia stood out in fiber yield. One of the parameters for obtaining a homogeneous fiber of fiber flax is the technical length of the stem - not less than 60 cm, the thickness of the stem - not less than 500 units. The selection number K4196 × 1288/12 and the variety TOST 4 from Russia, which were characterized by a high technical length (61.2 - 61.8 cm) and dryness (472 - 509 units) of the stem in all the years of study in relation to the standard grade. The indicated breeding numbers and varieties, distinguished by yield, technical length and stem thickness, can serve as a starting material in the breeding process. Relevance. The productivity and especially the quality of flax products largely depend on a set of technological techniques that take into account varietal characteristics, agrochemical properties of the soil and the fertilizers used. Identification of the reaction to the production process of a new high-yielding flax variety of Universal is an important element of agricultural technology.Methods. The sod-podzolic medium loamy soil is characterized by a slightly acidic reaction of the soil solution pHKCl-5.44, a very high content of phosphorus (298 mg/kg) and medium potassium (85 mg/kg), low humus — 2.05%, medium boron (0.33 mg/kg), low zinc (0.56 mg/kg). The HTC (hydrothermal coefficient) for May — August by year was — 1.56 optimal (2017), — 1.09 arid (2018), — 1.80 wet(2019).Results. Studies have shown that the Universal flax variety has a high responsiveness to the use of fertilizers. The yield increases were: for flax straw 24 to 43%, for flax seeds from 27 to 49%, depending on the form of fertilizer and the method of their application. The advantage of the complex organomineral OMU “Universal” and mineral nitrogen-phosphorus-potassium with boron containing trace elements over the azofoska in equalized doses of nitrogen is noted. The increase in the yield of the flax stock of thesefertilizers with the row method of application was lower by 40 and 34% of their main application, but the profitability of this method increased from 46 to 234% and from 62 to 219%. The application of organic fertilizer Sivid — Bor for seed treatment and Sivid-Zinc for crop processing on the background of reducing the dose of azofoski from 1.5 to 1.0 c/ha allowed to raise close to making azofoski of 1.5 c/ha, but with a greater profitability of 115%.

We studied the fiber flax varieties bred in the Tomsk region in 2017–2019 in the subtaiga zone of the Omsk region on the experimental field of the Northern Agriculture Department of the Omsk Agricultural Scientific Center. We provide the material for 7 varieties. The soil of the experimental plot is gray wooded podzolic, medium, loamy with a humus content of 3–4 %. The predecessor is spring wheat after fallow. The research results showed that the weather conditions significantly affected the growth, development, and formation of the yield. In 2017, cold and wet weather generally affected the yield and quality of fiber flax in comparison to 2018-2019. As a result of the research, we established that for 3 years the best varieties were TOST 5 and Tomich. The variety TOST 5 gave a straw yield of 4.70 t/ha with number 1.9, an estimated fiber yield of 1.31 t/ha and a seed yield of 0.80 t/ha with the growth season of 61 days. The variety Tomich was characterized by the high quality of straw with number 2.1 with a short growth season (48 days), it had a straw yield of 4.0t/ha, a fiber yield of 1.18 t/ha and a seed yield of 0.70 t/ha. Therefore, the combination of varieties of different ripening duration will optimize the harvesting timing, raise the flax straw, and get a high yield of quality products.

Du, G.-H., Liu, F.-H. and Rowland, G. 2015. Fiber cell development and fiber yield of flax (Linum usitatissimum L.) affected by the seasonal temperature pattern. Can. J. Plant Sci. 95: 1215–1220. Three fiber flax cultivars ‘Ariane’, ‘Argos’ and ‘Viking’ were cultured in growth chambers under three seasonal temperature patterns (STPs) [parabolic (P), anti-parabolic (AP) and quasi-horizontal (QH) configurations]. The effect of STP was studied on fiber cell development and on fiber yield. The results indicated that, compared with the quasi-horizontal seasonal temperature pattern (QH-STP), the size of fiber cell cavity (SFCC) and fiber content (FC) decreased under parabolic seasonal temperature pattern (P-STP). However, the size of fiber cell (SFC) and SFCC decreased, but the number of fiber cells per bundle (NFCB) increased under anti-parabolic seasonal temperature pattern (AP-STP). Moreover, there was a significant positive correlation between fiber weight (FW) and width of fiber bundle (WFB), also between FC and NFCB. Considering the response of fiber flax cultivars to the different STPs, ‘Ariane’ had smaller SFC and SFCC, thinner thickness of fiber cell wall (TFCW) under AP-STP, and smaller SFCC and thicker TFCW under P-STP than under QH-STP, while ‘Argos’ had smaller SFC and SFCC, and higher NFCB under AP-STP, and smaller SFC under P-STP than under QH-STP. However, STPs had little effect on the fiber cell development of ‘Viking’. All three cultivars had high FC under AP-STP than under P-STP. These observations indicate that the fiber cell development and fiber yield of flax were related to the STP and suggest that AP-STP are the most favorable temperature conditions for fiber flax growth.

Abstract Approximately 500 pounds of white shrimp were stored in crushed ice until they decomposed. Portions were withdrawn at intervals and processed. Based on judgments of odor, shrimp that reached a stage of incipient decomposition before processing were rated as passable after they were freeze-dried or cooked. The organoleptic quality of samples that reached a stage of advanced decomposition was also improved by processing, but not to the extent of their being classified as passable. Aerobic plate counts increased during storage but they were reduced significantly by freezedrying or cooking. Although there were changes in composition during storage, the classical chemical tests used were of limited value for assessing the degree of decomposition. Also, many volatile decomposition products were lost during processing. Computing the results of chemical analyses on a moisturefree basis offered distinct advantages. Inasmuch as organoleptic, bacteriological, and chemical tests on the finished products failed to reveal the decomposed condition of the starting material, there is need for additional investigation of methods for that purpose.

The formation of fiber flax yield and quality parameters depends on many soil-climatic, breedinggenetic, as well as anthropogenic factors. The quality of flax fiber is a combination of a number of features and properties that depend on the varietal characteristics of plants, the conditions of their cultivation, technologies for harvesting and straw retting, as well as on the processing modes of raw materials. During plant vegetation (90-130 days) many factors such as soil conditions (pH 4.8-5.5, humus 1.8-2.5%, P2O5 and K2O – 150-200 and 100-200 mg/kg, respectively) and the area of plant nutrition (15-30 million seeds/ha), temperature regime (the sum of active temperatures 1000-1800ºC), water supplying (400-430 units of water mass to create 1 unit of dry matter) and insolation (the arrival of FAR during the growing season 20-25 kcal / cm²), contamination of weeds (more than 60 annual and perennial species) and pests (more than 200 types of fungal, bacterial and viral diseases), features of phytosanitary measures (more than 50 chemicals) and agrotechnologic manners (Federal Register of technologies for the production of crop products) have a great influence on the quality of flax raw materials and can be a limit factor. Environmentally hazardous pollution of air, water and soil - the main components for the production of fiber flax – strongly affects the yield and quality of flax products. The development of waste-free environmentally friendly technologies for the cultivation, harvesting and processing of flax is an urgent task of scientific support of the industry. The main environmental factors affecting the yield and quality of fiber flax are discussed in the article.

Nano-sized BaTiO3 powders with narrow size distribution and the high tetragonality were attempted to synthesize by the rotary-hydrothermal process in water system, using two kinds of commercial anatase-type TiO2 (ST21/ST01) with different particle size and Ba(OH)2. The rotary-hydrothermal syntheses were done with the rotary-speed of 20 revolutions per minute at 523 K for 24 h. Highly- and mono-dispersed BaTiO3 powders were successfully synthesized by applying the rotary-hydrothermal process. For rotary-hydrothermal synthesis, it was found that the average size, tetragonality, and quality of the BaTiO3 particle strongly depended on the particle size of the starting material. In the case of using ST01 as a starting material, BaTiO3 nano-powders mainly composed of coarse-faceted particles (average particle size = ca.100 nm) with the tetragonal phase and very little lattice defects were successfully synthesized.
