No one is stress-free, no matter how fortunate, rational, intelligent, and knowledgeable he may be. Stress has almost become a sure thing even among Catholic school teachers. This is probably due to their demands for multiple jobs, teaching unmotivated students, maintaining classroom discipline, demanding workload, being subjected to frequent changes, being judged by others, having difficult or frustrating relationships with colleagues and administrators, and poor working conditions. Stressors faced by one teacher are unique to him or her and depend on factors like personality, beliefs, abilities, and circumstances of the teacher.  Other variables, such as coping mechanisms and techniques, personality traits, and environmental characteristics, can interactively influence the teacher's understanding of how stressful situations are.  To deal with stressful events and relieve feelings of distress, teachers use coping methods.  Rilveria (2018) identified nine coping strategies: a cognitive reappraisal, social support, problem-solving, religiosity, tolerance, emotional release, overactivity, recreation, and substance use. It has been observed that Antique Diocesan Catholic School teachers often experience high levels of stress resulting from multiple job responsibilities; thus, the researcher was propelled to explore and understand more this construct.

In an investigation of the problems and coping strategies of Australian high school students, comparisons were made between the responses of 1664 students enrolled in Years 8 to 12 in 1988,1620 students enrolled in the same year levels in 1993, and 178 high school teachers in 1993. The subjects completed the High School Stressors Scale (Burnett & Fanshawe, 1997) and the Adolescent Coping Strategies Scale (Burnett & Fanshawe, 1996). Data analyses using MANOVAs, ANOVAs, and t-tests revealed close similarities between the responses of the 1993 students and those of the 1988 students, but a considerable amount of incongruence between the responses of the students and those of the teachers. In particular, the teachers generally seemed to regard their students' problems as being more serious than was acknowledged by the students, and the teachers generally seemed to project a less positive view of adolescents' coping strategies than did the students. These discrepancies are discussed in terms of the different orientations that students and teachers bring to the student-teacher relationship. It is suggested that teachers and counsellors need to take cognisance of the differences between adolescents' perspectives and their own if they are going to be effective in assisting students to develop positive coping strategies and in creating more positive learning environments.

Stress and depression are unavoidable in the workplace and have turn out to be a perennial have fascinated many researcher in modern eras. The current study aims to findings the relationship between demographic profile, stress, and depression in the workplace. A descriptive sequential explanatory research design was used. A questionnaire was adopted from the American Institute of stress (2011) and Depression organization New Zealand (n.d.), the open-ended question on academic workloads, and coping mechanism as the whole main instruments used to gather the data for the current study. A total of 100 public school teachers were randomly selected from 7 clusters in the Division of Pampanga – Philippines. The result showed that the majority of the respondents were between the ages 32-37 years old, 53% of them were male, 84% were junior high school teachers, and 26% had been serving four to seven years, the stress grand mean 2.13 which means they were disagreeing, a total score of 63% of the respondents was moderately well,  the depression grand mean was  1.76 with a descriptive rating of several days, a total score of 57.6%  of the respondents moderately well, but things may get worse. It is also revealed that there is no significant as to sex, depression, stress, teaching level, and educational attainment. While the age, depression, sex, stress, teaching level, depression, educational attainment, years in service to stress, depression stating that there is a highly significant.

The main aim of the research was to distinguish different types of sport competition appraisals and verify if athletes’ interpretation of a stressful situation changed their choice of coping methods. Athletes change their perception during competitions; thus, we assumed that configuration of different ways of interpreting stressful events is more important for coping than one particular appraisal. In total, 193 athletes filled out The Stress Appraisal Questionnaire and The Sport Stress-Coping Strategies Questionnaire to describe their stress appraisals and undertaken coping strategies during a remembered competition that took place within a month before the study. The athletes most often appraised stressful competitions as a challenge. They preferred the coping strategy of being determined to accomplish the established goal. The athletes hardly applied techniques that constituted the basis of mental training. The cluster analysis of the competitors determined three types of sport competition appraisals: positive, negative, and active. An ANOVA with post hoc comparisons showed that participants who revealed positive appraisals undertook the highest number of actions aimed at reaching goals and least frequently sought support. Athletes should be taught not only specific strategies for coping with stress, but also more frequent use of positive judgments of sports competitions.

IntroductionUniversity life is stressful for the student, which is characterized by disturbed emotional regulation or alexithymia. To face these stressful events he must use certain coping strategies.ObjectivesStudying the prevalence of alexithymia and exploring coping strategies among medical students, and establish the relationship between these parameters.MethodsIt was a cross-sectional study of 97 students in Sfax university medicine (Tunisia). We used:– a questionnaire containing demographic and clinical data;– Toronto alexithymia Scale (TAS-20): a score ≥61 indicates alexithymia;– WCC (Ways of Coping Checklist-r Folkman) with 3 factors: problem-focused, emotion-focused and social support coping.ResultsThe average age of participants was 24.07 years (±2.71); the sex ratio (M/W) was 0.4. They were smoking in 36.1% and sedentary in 43.3% of case. They had a nibbling activity in 57.7%. The average score of TAS-20 was 50. 92 10.46 and alexithymia was found in 16.5% of students. Alexithymia was significantly correlated with smoking (P = 0.003) and physical inactivity (P = 0.025). Most students (72.2%) opted for problem-focused ways of coping with a highest score at WCC = 29.21. A significant correlation was found between alexithymia and coping strategy with emotion-focused (P = 0.02). The TAS score was significantly higher among students who resort to this ways of coping = 26.11. (P = 0.002).ConclusionThis study explored the role of alexithymia in stress management ubiquitous in university life. A high level of alexithymia could be a detrimental factor in stress management. The study aimed to test a model of the relationship between perception of stressful life events and perceived self-efficacy as well as coping strategies with life attributions of higher diploma students at Assiut faculty of education by testing direct and indirect effects between perceiving stressful life events and the study variables. In addition, the study aimed to find out whether there are differences in perceived self-efficacy and coping strategies as well as attributionsbetween those with positive and negative perception of stressful life events.Also, differences in perceiving stressful life events were tested across classes of the demographic variables: gender, specialization, place of living, and marital status. The sample included 410 students. Results showed that there was a causal relationship in which perception of stressful life events was affected by perceived self-efficacy (direct effect is .631, indirect effect is .356), by coping strategies (direct effect is .676, indirect effect is .313), and life attributions (direct effect is .781, indirect effect is .211). There were significant differences in perceived self-efficacy, and coping strategies as well as the problem centered coping strategies in favor of those with positive perception of stressful life events. There were significant differences in the perception of stressful life events due to demographic variables including place of living and specialization in favor of humanities majors and those who lived in cities.

The family as the unit in the social system has an important role and becomes the first social environment to introduce love, affection, social culture, and religion. When the world is suffering from the COVID-19 pandemic, the families are also affected by some impacts included: family health problems; family economic; family harmonization; family socio-psychology; and socio-culture. The family health is composed of fundamental dimensions: family social climate; family integrity; family functioning; family resistance and family coping. The family coping concept is the capacity of the family to confront, mobilize, and act on stressful events. This article illustrates the aspects of family health and coping strategies in the midst of the COVID-19 in Indonesia. It aims to inform and be the reference for further study related to the family adaptation in the corona crisis. We reviewed many works of literature in the form of articles from various journals. During the COVID-19 pandemic, families must be able to survive. COVID-19 pandemic does not only affect physical but also mental health. The way to deal with the events depend on family characteristics, the severity of the events and family support. There are two types of coping strategies that families in Indonesia usually adopt including reducing expense and increasing income.
