Many businesses face avoidable strategic and external risks that can be addressed by accepting, relocating, reducing, or eliminating them. Companies of all sizes should predict and prepare for the risks that come with doing business. When a scenario becomes a reality, a well-prepared organisation can mitigate sales, lost time and productivity, and negative impact on customers. They can assist in the safety of an organisation and its employees by offering a fully integrated threat management system that offers real-time threat impact assessments that the corporation can use to fulfil its duty of care obligations and keep employees safe. These systems are based on robust systems such as DEFCON, HSAS, and NTAS. In analogy to the application in Military and Anti-Terrorism, the systems DEFCON, HSAS or NTAS to the specific application, define the comprehensive explanations and define corresponding actions at each threat level. This article deals with the question, if the deployment of DEFCON, HSAS/NTAS is a suitable approach to meet the requirements of the ISO 9001:2015. To answer the given research-question the method of qualitative content analysis was used as outlined by Mayring. Six main codes and twelve subcodes were defined inductively and deductively, and the present literature was encoded according to the method of structured content analysis. To this end, 765 codings were carried out and then analysed in the context of the research questions. As a result, the research question was confirmed by the present study.

Based upon the 55 days of lockdown that occurred during the Covid_19 disaster, the aim of this article is to answer to the following research question: “how can we characterize influencers in social networks?”. Analyzing more than 1.6 million of tweets, we propose a matrix that can be used to characterize an influencer. This matrix has 2 dimensions on one hand the five courses of actions an influencer can use and on the other hand the 3 types of motivation he has got. Regarding the methodology we used R and a qualitative content analysis and provided our scripts. This research is a part of the “lockdown lab” project.

The present research was a corpus-based descriptive qualitative content analysis of Shakespeare’s Macbeth, based on Peirce’s intersemiotic model. The drama was translated interlingually from English to Farsi and intersemiotically by Servati for stage performance. Regarding the first research question (Which signs (iconical, indexical, or symbolic) are more applicable to semiotic analysis of Macbeth performance?), the results of the analysis show that the intersemiotic translation of drama was not successful in transferring some iconic signs from page to stage. Iconic signs are more susceptible to inappropriate intersemiotic translation than indexical signs and symbolic signs. Considering Servati’s adaptation, it can be judged that other aspects, namely, secondness and thirdness, are more manageable when translating drama into a stage performance. This finding, in this case study, contradicts the findings of some previous studies regarding the point that intersemiotic translation is a deeply iconic dependent process. The contradictory results may be related to cultural differences and different cultural signs of the two involved languages.

Abstract The article at hand is driven by a methodological interest in the opportunities and challenges of applying an automated text mining approach, particularly a sentiment analysis on various tourism blogs at the same time. The study aims to answer the question to what extent advanced computational methods can improve the data acquisition and analysis of unstructured data sets stemming from various blogs and forums. Furthermore, the authors intend to explore to what extent the sentiment analysis is able to objectify the qualitative results identified by an earlier analysis by the authors using content analysis done by thematic coding. For the purpose of the specific tourism research question in this paper a new approach is proposed, which consists of a combination of sentiment analyses, supervised learning, and dimensionality reduction in order to identify terms that strongly load on specific emotions. The contribution indicates on the one hand, that advanced computational methods have their own specific constraints, but on the other hand, are able to provide a richer and deeper analysis following a quantitative approach. Several issues have to be taken into account, such as data protection constraints, the need for data cleaning, such as word stemming, dimension reduction, such as removal of custom stop words, and the development of descent ontologies. On the other hand, the quantitative method also provides, due to its standardised procedure, a less subjective insight in the given content, but is not less time consuming than traditional content analysis.

This research uses a qualitative approach with qualitative content analysis as a method to describe the hoaxes and the meaning of digital literacy competencies that are visualized in a comic strip distributed through an Instagram account @komikfunday. A total of 25 comic strips act as an analysis unit with subunits containing textual and non-textual comic elements from each comic strip panel. Qualitative interpretation of the content is divided into two levels namely the explicit meaning and the implicit meaning. Digital literacy competencies are adapted from the ten competencies developed by the Indonesian Digital Literacy Advocacy Networks (Japelidi). The result shows that the explicit meaning of each content is a mission to eradicate hoaxes along with tips and strategies that apply to all people. Also, the implicit meaning that is related to digital literacy competencies consists of six competencies called selecting, understanding, analyzing, verifying, evaluating and distributing. Overall, it can be interpreted that @komikfunday has fully integrated the competencies needed by each individual as a provision to fight hoaxes. Thus, it is expected to be present to encourage creative, innovative and collaborative movements in increasing the digital literacy competencies of the Indonesian people massively and evenly.

Discursive approaches to Europe usually focus on elite discourses and target a narrow political understanding of Europe. Against the backdrop of rising Euroscepticism and the known elite-mass divide on issues of European identity, it seems important to shift the focus toward non-elite discourses on Europe. Given that club football is largely Europeanised (player markets, continent-wide club competitions and broadcasting of matches), we analyse how fans of the English Premier League club Manchester United discursively construct ‘Europe’ in relation to their sport. Our main research question aims at identifying how identifications of fans have been unconsciously Europeanised in the wake of an ongoing Europeanisation of the game. We explore online discourses on rivalry, competition and player transfers in club football as these areas are strongly influenced by the interplay of national and European inclinations. Preliminary results of our qualitative content analysis demonstrate that Manchester United fans, inasmuch as their club ‘goes Europe’ on a frequent basis, have developed transnational perspectives on football. Distinctions between ‘us’ and ‘them’ are not predominantly based on nationality, even though they remain complex. However, European orientations (not the European Union as such) seem to play more of a prominent role than commonly assumed.

The main aim of the article is to present political consequences of the failure of the Cyprus talks 2015–2017 for the European Union. Although its institutions and representatives were engaged in the negotiation process there, the issue seems to be more complex when it comes to defining what their role was. One can find the answer to such a question analysing the course and the final outcome of the negotiation process in Cyprus. The main research question are as follows: What was the course of bicommunal negotiations? What brought the negotiations to a halt in 2017? How did the European Union engage in the process? What are political consequences of the talks failure for the European Union? The selected method is sources analysis and the technique is qualitative content analysis. On this basis one can study, for example, selected speeches, declarations as well as official documents. As regards the main sources, these are selected EU and UN documents, monographs, and academic articles.

The aim was to analyze perceptions of oral health in adults who have been exposed to child sexual abuse. Eleven participants (10 women), 19 to 56 y of age, who had experienced sexual abuse as children were purposively selected and interviewed in-depth. The participants were encouraged to describe how they perceived the effect of the sexual abuse on their oral health as adults. The interviews were recorded digitally and transcribed verbatim. The collected material was analyzed according to qualitative content analysis. The theme “challenging conditions for maintaining oral health” was identified, comprising 2 categories: first, “the emotional significance,” with the subcategories 1) emotional barriers and 2) powerful relief, and second, “the obstacles to oral health,” with the subcategories 1) daily self-care with complications and 2) dental appointments with difficulties. The findings indicate that the experience of sexual abuse during childhood can have a negative impact on oral care in adulthood. The informants stated that oral health was of utmost importance but also associated with strong emotions. There were obstacles to maintenance of oral health that were difficult to surmount. Knowledge Transfer Statement:The study provides access to the attitudes of survivors of child sexual abuse regarding oral health and the needs and obstacles that they experience. This is important knowledge for dental professionals to optimize dental care.
