This paper attempts to highlight the will power and wisdom of Hazrat Umar(R.A) in solving the problems he faced in his life. It highlights that how he sought guidance from Quranic verses on different occasions to settle different problems during his caliphate. On one hand this paper illustrates his intelligence and on the other hand it invites us to see guidance from the Holy Quran in daily life affairs. The rationale of present research is that the researcher felt a dire need to follow the footsteps of Hazrat Umar (RA) . So that all the Muslims should seek guidance from the Holy Quran as was done by Hazrat Umar(RA) . A lot of books on lives of companions (SahabaKiram RA) and history of Islam urge the Muslims to follow his footsteps in gaining determinations and forethought. Moreover, this paper focusses different aspects of Hazrat Umar (RA)’s life such as the conceding of Qasar prayer during sea voyage, religious freedom, decision about Landin the conquered territory and rights of minorities in the Muslim state have also been discussed. All these issues which have been discussed in relation to Hazrat Umar (RA)’s life have a close association with the reformation of society. Ignorance of Hazrat Umar (RA)’s examplary life may lead the muslim society to degradation. The findings suggest that in difficult situationsmuslim society must follow Hazrat Umar (RA)’s footsteps.

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the semantic issues and problems related to nouns that some translators in their translation of the Holy Quran, couldn't translate it successfully such as Abdullah Yusuf and Souleymane Kanté. Although they did a great effort and their translation is successful but they fail to convey the meaning to some nouns. The researcher tried to introduce some suggestions to improve translation of nouns in the Holy Quran by explaining some of these issues, and not to undermine these translations.As the terminology of the Quran reflects the history of the rise of a monotheistic religion in Arabia, the terminology of its translation into Maninka reflects the long history of islamization of the Manding-speaking peoples, Souleymane Kanté's translation as an example.  On the other hand, some Arabic translations to English are also available, Abdullah Yusuf's translation as an example.The researcher investigated troubles these two translators face in translating the Holy Quran by providing some examples. It was clear that Yusufs' translation based on finding equivalent of nouns of the Quran in the target culture which is not always available, while Kante's translation based on that there are many words in the target language which can stand for any noun in the Holy Quran.The researcher concludes that Kante's translation is better and more professional because languages develops and translators must always find equivalent words in the target culture to convey the meaning they are seeking to explain.

Abstract: Jansen is a researcher that classifies the work of interpretation (tafsîr) into: firstly, an interpretation adopting a modern science but not oppose against the holy Quran, it is called tafsîr  al-‘ilmî. Secondly, an interpretation that is designed to help reader understand the holy Quran or philological interpretation (al-tafsîr  al-lughawî). Thirdly, an interpretation dealing with the Muslim deed and it is called practical interpretation (tafsîr  al-adabî al-ijtimâ’î). Jansen is about to display a short description that covers the answers of explanation inadequacy of the previous researchers’ studies. He mainly clarifies  the history of interpretation and western studies on interpretation developing in Islamic world. As a matter of fact, Jansen’s view is majorly a kind of beginning critical of his attention on interpretation. He focuses the research object on the interpretation of Muhammad Abduh, then he compares it to the other intrepretations that are considered up to standard to be classified into his work of interpretation.   Key Words: al-Qur’ân, tafsîr, dan Jansen

The thought of Augustine on the two ethical categories of sin and grace is of great importance in the history of Christian theology. His system of grace and predestination prevailed for many centuries, although not without strong opposition, and underwent, through scholastic elaboration, substantial changes in order to save the freedom of the will; and finally it reappeared in the conception of the spiritual life shaped by Luther and the other teachers of the Reformation. It is on account of his doctrine about grace and predestination that Protestant theologians like to call Augustine “der Paulus nach Paulus und der Luther vor Luther.” Whatever may be the exactness of this genealogy, it shows at least the value and efficacy of the Augustinian conception of the natural and supernatural life on the development of the European spirit. In the Catholic tradition this thought of Augustine is at the very basis of the ethical, ecclesiological, and sacramental systems; in the Christian but non-Catholic movements this doctrine, interpreted in a rather paradoxical way, gave a starting-point to the Reformation.

All praises are for Allah who blessed the Muslims by revealing the Holy Quran and himself took the responsibility of its safety through safe-guarding the Sunnah and the sayings of the Holly Prophet (peace be upon him). The Holy Quran and the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) can be separated from each other. These are the two streams emerging from source, according to the saying of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him), “I am leaving two things among you, if you strictly follow them, you will never be distracted. These are the book of God and the Sunnah of his Prophet (peace be upon him)”. Along with being the fundamental source of the Hadith, the ‘Sahihain’ are regarded as the “Ash-ul-kutab”. In ‘sahihain’ the Al-Hadith encompasses all the spheres of life including sociology, politics, affairs of daily life and morality. On the other side, there is an extensive description of the principles of economics. The Holy Quran has regarded wealth and earnings as the foundation of the survival of human life. In the present age, it is the need to run the four elements of economics that are earning of wealth, distribution of wealth, exchange of wealth, and division of wealth for highlighting the Islamic economy. Unless society is not established on solid economic grounds, prosperity and affluence cannot be the fate of an individual. Keeping in vein and a survey of principles of economics in Sahihain will be presented."

The reader of the Hoy Quran’s interpretations suffers the misconception of three different, but related, concepts, namely:  al-xidaaʕ ‘deception’, al-kayd ‘machination’, and al-makr ‘wiliness’, where each concept entails the others even in the old dictionaries. This study tries to capture the semantic differences between these three different concepts based on the premise that the Qur’an is a precise text where no lexeme completely alternates any other ones. The study has found that al-xidaaʕ ‘deception’ denotes the will to do evil to the other people by saying or doing (or both); it is made by a reliable person who shows good but line evil. al-kayd ‘machination’, by way of contrast, may be made to bring benefit. al-makr ‘wiliness’, however, is employed to intent harm for others and differs from the first two concepts in that it is more severe, more controlled, and more hidden than them. Most of the interpreters proposed that the use of these three terms with Allah denotes torment.

The article analyzes the main features of the Caroline era in the history of Britain, which were reflected in the cultural representation of the power of King Charles I Stuart and the court’s daily life in the 1630s. The author shows that, on the one hand, the cult of peace and the greatness of the monarch were the cultural product of the Caroline court against the background of the Thirty Years' War in continental Europe. On the other hand, there was a spread of various forms of escapism, the departure into the world of illusions. On the whole, the representation of the power of Charles Stuart and the court’s daily life were in line with the general trend of the time. At the same time, the court of Charles I reflected his personality. Thinly sensing and even determining the artistic tastes of his era, the English king abstracted from its political and social context.

This research tackles two chapters from the Holy Quran, the sura of Prophet Yusuf, and the sura of the Cave (al-Kahf) to find out whether the theories of Leech (1983) and Brown and Levinson (1987) can be applied to find out the positive and negative politeness strategies and the politeness maxims. The Leech’s model (1983) consists of six maxims, and for Brown and Levinson (1987), consists of two major politeness strategies. It consists of two principles of politeness, where one of them is positive, and the other is negative politeness. This study aims at investigating politeness strategies, and politeness principle linguistically in two Suras from the Holy Quran, how politeness strategies and politeness maxims used within the Holy Quran. This study tries to investigate the image of the main characters in the most sacred book. A qualitative approach is employed to provide interpretations of selected verses. In this paper, we will discuss the politeness strategies, positive and negative politeness strategies, and politeness maxims. The study falls into two parts. It begins briefly to overview the theoretical framework underlying politeness, in particular discussing some definitions of politeness and politeness principle and its maxims, exploring the face theory and its strategies by Brown and Levinson, and how far these strategies affect polite style then, dealing with politeness maxims by Leech. The other part displays a practical application of what has presented theoretically. Also, the researcher examined the politeness strategies, and politeness maxims of two Suras (Yusuf and Al-Kahf). Moreover, the study observed that approximately the majority of negative politeness in two suras then positive politeness, and the last one is politeness maxims.

This article aims to examine the level of development of tarannum prevailing in Malaysia. Therefore, this study has detailed the history of the emergence of tarannum Quran in Tanah Melayu (as Malaysia was formally known) and also the developments that occurred afterward. The study found that the efforts undertaken by government agencies such as the Islamic Development Department and the Ministry of Education and encouragement of the mass media as well as continuous learning has greatly helped the development and growth of tarannum knowledge in the country. All the works done are the strong correlation between each other. In addition, while conducting this study the authors used several important instruments such as interviews and obseravations in getting accurate data and input on the subject of study. The authors expect that the study of the tarannum Quran will continue after this so it can be beneficial to the reciters of the holy Quran.

This study deals with the Quranic treatment of extremism in terms of extremisms concept and semantics, types, causes, images,  and the Quranic approach in its treatment, and we try to link the Muslim to the Quran approach in the treatment of extremism as a problem which the individual and the old and new society suffer; Because extremism can be transformed from mere idea to apparent behavior while demonstrating that extremism in fact transcends the rules of law and divine orders, it is excessive in the commitment to religion on the one hand or negligence in adhering to it, on the other hand, it is not always concerned with bringing the matter but also enters into relinquishing. In addition to the need to be warned that extremism is a method of religiosity and not religion itself, and Islam with its centrist approach rejects such practices and seeks to address them through the curriculum of the Holy Quran

John Hallowell's seminal study, originally published in 1943, treats modem Western thought since the Renaissance and the Reformation as, in its core, liberal, and its foundations as based on an uneasy synthesis of potentially warring elements: On the one hand, the primacy of the will as embodied in the autonomous individual; on the other, the ability of these autonomous wills to bind themselves together freely, by contract and consent, on the basis of their acknowledgment of transcendent moral truths discoverable by reason. Conscience, then, enabled independent wills to acknowledge and submit to justice as found by reason or revelation. But Hallowell described also the gradual decline in the confidence in reason to find transcendent truths, and the subsequent decline in the ability of autonomous individuals to find grounds for genuine community. Where will alone reigns, all standards collapse, and increasingly the arbiter between wills becomes force. Western civiltation, even as it approaches becoming world civilization, increasingly manifests symptoms of dissolution and an inability to provide the foundation for genuine communities.
