The article examines the research in theory and practice on the problem of professional burnout, which can contribute to the professional deformation of the personality, which leads to a distortion of the personal qualities of a specialist, if one does not take into account the peculiarities of a person's self-attitude, in particular in professional activity. These indicators will indicate the degree of development of personal reflexivity, which allows a person not only to analyze experienced events, but to form a further effective model of behavior. The authors present the results of an empirical study on the study of the relationship between professional deformation and self-attitude and personality reflexivity among employees of the National Media Group, in addition, differences in the average indicators of the degree of professional deformation, in the context of professional burnout, and elements of personality self-attitude among employees of NMH are proved. Pearson's correlation analysis revealed in the first group (HR department) the presence of an inverse relationship between the scale of “depersonalization” and the scale of autosympathy, as well as between “emotional exhaustion” and the scale of “self-confidence”. The respondents of the second group (development department) are characterized by the presence of a direct correlation between the scale of "reduction of professionalism" and "autosympathy".

This study was conducted to investigate the relationship between personality traits and personal identification in the organization. The study used random sampling technique to collect data from 1277 employees. The results showed that there exists a positive relationship between personality traits and identification of organization; workers having agreeableness and conscientiousness traits tend to have more identification with their organization, while neurotic workers showed negative association. However, differences were seen in male and female samples concerning perceived organizational identification with minor variation. The study concludes that individuals possessing agreeable and conscientious traits are more advantageous for the high level of organizational identification, irrespective of gender differences.

The impact of austerity on urban governance has become a key area of academic concern, but many studies tend to interpret the effect on individual urban state bodies through analysis of broader governance relations, whilst also framing austerity as an overarching and homogeneous set of ideas, values and practices. In response, this paper examines a city government’s economic development department as a means in which to understand how the heterogeneous agency of the organisation mitigates austerity. In examining the adaptation to austerity, the paper deploys the practice theory of Schatzki. This involves utilising his conceptualisation of the construction of practices through various elements in producing the organisation, and their related ‘timespaces’. In conclusion, examining practices are important in understanding the intricacies of the ‘agency’ of the organisation, with the paper elucidating the uneven reconfiguration of the case study towards forms of timespace governing based on entrepreneurial pro-growth practices.

This study aimed at identifying the impact of strategic leadership dimensions, such as defining strategic direction, investing strategic capabilities, and implementing balanced organisational supervision, on the organisational ambidexterity dimension at the King Abdullah II Design and Development Bureau (KADDB). The sample consisted of the directors at top and middle management at KADDB, totalling 92 directors. Further, a questionnaire was used as a tool for data collection through Google Forms for the convenience of data collection and edition. 86 valid questionnaires were retrieved before the analytical descriptive approach was used, and, following this, data analysation and hypotheses tests were carried out according to the descriptive statistic measures and statistical analysis program Smart PLS v. 3. The results indicated high relative importance of the strategic leadership and organisational ambidexterity at KADDB, and, notably, a statistically significant impact of strategic leadership was approved on organisational ambidexterity at KADDB at the significant level (P ≤ 0.05). This significant impact was approved for all the dimensions of strategic leadership except for the dimension ‘promoting human capital’. In light of the findings, the researchers recommended that KADDB should: improve organisational ambidexterity and its activities (exploration and exploitation) by organising special steering committees for this purpose within the business development department at KADDB; pay more attention to environmental scanning; balance the patterns of results-based monitoring and control; empower employees; and, finally, improve the current recruitment, promotion, and reward systems.

On 15 December 2017, Fabryka Broni “Łucznik”-Radom Sp. z o.o. (FB Radom), a subsidiary of Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa S.A., delivered the first batch of 1,000 MSBS Grot C 16 FB M1 calibre 5.56 mm standard (basic) assault rifles (version A0) to the Polish Territorial Defence Force and thus initiated the process of deployment of the assault rifle in the Polish Armed Forces. MSBS Grot was developed by Polish design and process engineers at FB Radom and the Military University of Technology (MUT, Warsaw, Poland) who by mediation of the proper Armament Acquisition and Development Department collected the improvement suggestions and operational feedback from 2.5 years of testing by operators from the armed forces. The suggestions and feedback were thoroughly analysed and discussed during periodic meetings attended by the representatives of the Territorial Defence Force (TDF) Command, the Special Forces Component Command, the 3rd Regional Military Representation (RMR), MUT, and FB Radom. Based on the conclusions from the testing period and the results of theoretical and instrumental testing of the solutions proposed for implementation, the MSBS Grot assault rifles show systematic improvements up to the current version, A2. This paper presents the design of the MSBS Grot Version A0 assault rifle and the construction and processing modifications for version A1 and version A2. During the optimisation effort backed by theoretical and instrumental testing, there was special focus on the assurance of high operating safety and reliability, plus the required ergonomics of the assault rifle under various operating conditions. The paper also presents the avenues for further potential improvements of MSBS Grot.

The production process of a tool is very important in a manufacturing company, especially in producing medical equipment. The use of medical masks by health workers in handling COVID-19 patients for hours will make medical personnel uncomfortable when wearing them, one of which is congestion. Therefore, the LCC RESPIRA V.01 PAPR (Powered Air Purifying Respirator) was produced, designed by Mr. Ahmad Juang Pratama, who is a lecturer at Al Azhar University Indonesia. In the production of LCC RESPIRA V.01, a standardization of the production process is needed, so that the reliability of the product can be guaranteed. For this reason, the design of the SOP (Standard Operational Procedure) and the layout of the production floor are carried out in the production process of the LCC RESPIRA V.01 tool. The results of this study include the design of a production SOP in which several departments take part in it, namely team leader, head of the production, production operator, research and development department, head of the warehouse, and quality control department. Besides, a production floor layout design is obtained, where the total production floor area is 8.2 x 6.0 m2 with manual and trolley material handling types.

Keywords – Covid-19, Layout production floor, Medical equipment, Standard operational procedure

PurposeThis research identifies the forms of tacit knowledge frequently requested in the job descriptions of knowledge workers in a multinational automotive manufacturer's product development department. It then explores how and why the most requested forms of tacit knowledge are used in practice to achieve organizational goals.Design/methodology/approachThis study follows a sequential mixed-methods approach to quantify the most frequently requested forms of tacit knowledge within internal job descriptions and then explores how and why this tacit knowledge is used. The first stage applies manifest content analysis to internal job descriptions to highlight the epitomes of tacit knowledge to identify the most frequently requested forms of tacit knowledge. The second stage employs semi-structured interviews to explore the use of the most frequently requested forms of tacit knowledge in practice.FindingsThe research indicated that the organization most frequently requested tacit knowledge in the form of skills and experience in the job descriptions of knowledge workers in the product development department. When the use and application of tacit knowledge in the form of skills were further explored in practice, it was found that tacit knowledge-based socially-focused skills were used, which was underpinned by the need to bring people together and align them towards a common goal to make things work; by enabling people to work together as a team; by developing and using networks; and acting as a required resource to support the development and integration in product development. Tacit knowledge in the form of experience was applied through the application of personally obtained experience to enhance development work by acting as a pacemaker for increasing efficiency and a sense of upcoming issues.Originality/valueThis work addresses the paucity of studies identifying tacit knowledge in large organizations and meets calls to investigate the processes and activities related to tacit knowledge in specific contexts.
