This papers studies and analyses the development and current status of Financial Technology (FinTech) industry and Peer-to-Peer (P2P) Lending industry in the People’s Republic of China (mainland China), and then investigates the impact of the P2P industry on development of Chinese Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) as well as selected economic indicators. Due to the fact that Fintech and more particularly P2P industry is a recent phenomenon, secondary data was collected for 2014 to 2019 from government data sources and company’s websites. The results of Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) analysis indicate the significant impact of P2P lending industry on the economic indicators with mediating impact of SMEs performance. The finding shed light on the financing difficulties faced by SMEs and the role of P2P industry to bridge this gap which have implications for government policies and financial institutions.

The study purpose is to analyse the impact of training, competence, motivation and leadership towards performance either directly or through job satisfaction as a mediator variable. As many as 55 staff are considered as respondents in this research, and census method is used as the sampling method. Primary data in this study were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using Likert Scale. Secondary data are obtained from the organization structure Sukamandi Apparatus Training Centre (BDA), performance appraisal, staff attendance, information system and personnel management. Structural Equation Modeling Analisis of Moment Structures (SEM-AMOS) is used to process and analyze data. This study shows staff with high education, competence and leadership have a significant effect on performance, While the job satisfaction is significant in mediating the influence of training, competence and leadership on performance. Next on the employee with low education, training, competence, motivation and leadership have a significant influence on performance, while job satisfaction is significant in mediating the effect of competence and leadership on staff performance.   Keywords:  training, competence, motivation, leadership, job satisfaction, performance

Adopting the empowerment perspective of leadership, this study proposes and examines the mediating model that leader encouragement of creativity affects innovation speed through strengthening employees’ engagement in the creative process. Using a sample of 245 participants in China, the results from structural equation modeling (SEM) suggest that the impact of leader encouragement of creativity on innovation speed is significantly mediated by creative process engagement, and positively moderated by organizational ambidexterity at the same time. Additionally, the results from fuzzy-set comparative qualitative analysis (fsQCA) with the same data set reveal that the aforementioned factors have a holistic effect on enhancing innovation speed. The results of fsQCA reinforce and refine the findings of the SEM analysis concerning the limits and conditions for how leader encouragement of creativity affects innovation speed.

Worldwide, Small and medium-size enterprises (SMEs) exhibit inimitable financial needs. While SMEs remain fundamental to economic growth, their mortality rate in Kenya approaches 90% by the second year, mainly owing to lack of credit. However, scholarly endeavors exploring the impact of alternative finance (AF) on managerial competency - efficiency nexus for manufacturing SMEs have received little attention in Kenya. To resolve this conundrum, a thorough study to investigate how AF impacts managerial competency - efficiency nexus is necessary. The study used a cross-sectional research design, employing both qualitative and quantitative research approaches. The target population was 171 SMEs registered with Kenya Association of Manufacturers. The accessible population was 136 SMEs owners/managers. A semi-structured questionnaire was used to collect primary and secondary data. Data envelopment analysis was used to measure efficiency, multiple regression modeling used to analyze the direct relationships while hierarchical moderated multiple regression analysis employed to test moderation. Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling was used to test robustness of our results. The findings of this study demonstrate that managerial competency positively influences efficiency (? = 0.150, t-value =10.246, P<0.05), and that alternative finance does moderate managerial competency relationships with efficiency (R-Square change of 21.7%). We suggest trainings for manufacturing SME owners/managers in Kenya on the pivotal role of alternative finance to facilitate SMEs achieve higher efficiencies and accelerate economic growth.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the impact of Fintech on Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) capital with the P2P Lending model. The formulation of the problem is What is the impact of Fintech on MSME capital with the P2P Lending model? Research locations in the Banyumas Regency area with a concentration of 110 MSME as a research sample, with the criterion that ever or currently lending with P2P Lending system. Primary data were obtained from the results of questionnaire processing and interviews with respondents, namely MSME, while secondary data was sought from OJK, BPS, the Ministry of Cooperatives and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, BI, articles, and textbooks relevant to research. Data analysis methods are descriptive analysis methods, paired difference analysis and ordinary least square (OLS). The conclusion obtained in this study is a tendency to increase in the Number of Workers, Turnover, Product Sales, Profits and Business Costs after the use of Fintech with the Peer to Peer (P2P) Lending model in MSME. So venture capital loans obtained through FinTech with the P2P Lending model have a positive effect on the improvement and development of the MSME business.

PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to investigate the influence of trust and perceived risk on investment willingness considering the bidirectional relationship between trust and perceived risk in peer-to-peer (P2P) lending.Design/methodology/approachData were collected from a leading Chinese P2P platform, PPDAI.com. In total, 328 valid responses were received and analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM).FindingsThe results show that the influence of trust on investment willingness is significant, whereas that of perceived risk is insignificant. The results also indicate that platform reputation has a positive effect on trust, and the quality of alternatives is positively associated with perceived risk. In addition, the bidirectional perspective should be preferred to cope with the bidirectional relationship between trust and perceived risk in P2P lending.Originality/valueThis study extends existing research on the influence of trust and perceived risk on investment willingness from a bidirectional perspective, which has not been addressed in the P2P lending context. In addition, this research enriches the current literature about trust and perceived risk by providing more evidence that the relationship between trust and perceived risk is bidirectional and thus the bidirectional model should be preferred. For practice, the study suggests that managers can earn trust and reduce the perceived risk of lenders by continuously providing high-quality products, services and enhancing platform reputation, ultimately improving their investment willingness.

In light of the current ecosystem of technological advancements in telecommunication and enhanced capability of devices, the present work brings to the fore the changes in consumers’ media consumption. The shift from conventional media to over-the-top (OTT) media, particularly in the lockdown period due to the COVID-19, has resulted in a war between streaming service providers to attract and retain customers. In the light of this change, the present study conducts partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) analysis to examine the impact of two key antecedents, namely, customer engagement (CE) and quality of service experience (QoSE) for their impact on users’ willingness to continue and subscribe (WCS) streaming services in future. The paper also delves into the indirect role of satisfaction and habit in affecting the aforesaid linkages. With the world facing the impact of the pandemic, the implications emerging from the study present an opportunity to the providers of OTT platforms to capitalize on the perceived change to the best of their advantage.

The aim of the research in this paper is to determine which factors the local population identifies as those that can, through the development of tourism, most influence or predict rural development or revitalization in the Republic of Serbia. In order to examine this, the survey was conducted during 2019, on a total sample of 680 respondents, in 45 rural municipalities in the country. The authors used a modified questionnaire, containing four groups of factors, with adequate 22 questions for research on a given issue. The SPSS AMOS software, version 26.00, was used for data analysis and processing. The authors checked the reliability of the questionnaire, whose value proved to be very good, and confirmed the grouping into exactly four groups of factors by Factor analysis. Descriptive statistical analysis yielded average scores for given items. The obtained suitability indices indicated the agreement of the Structural structural equation modeling (SEM) with the data, as well as the quality of the research and the confirmation of the hypotheses. The obtained results of the SEM analysis showed that there is no statistically significant difference in the impact of given factors in predicting rural development, and that the local population has a positive attitude about the impact of tourism on rural development.

Purpose Carbon Efficient Practices (CEPs) are gaining momentum due to the serious consequences of climate change. While past studies have focused on the effects of either drivers or barriers to green practices especially in the context of developed countries, relatively little attention has been devoted to the simultaneous effects of drivers and barriers on product redesign, particularly in the context of China. The paper aims to discuss these issues. Design/methodology/approach Using a blend of the Contextual Interaction Theory and Newton’s second law of motion, this paper proposes a conceptual model that simultaneously examines the impact of CEP drivers and barriers on product redesign and performance. Findings Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) analysis on a sample of 239 Chinese manufacturing firms indicated that drivers had substantially higher effects on product redesign and performance compared to the influence of other barriers. Originality/value Use of Newton’s second law of motion as a theoretical framework for understanding the adoption of CEPs in the context of China is novel. Implications of this pattern of results on academic theory building and practice are offered.

Capacity is the main element for farmers in achieving their goals. Farmer’s Capacity consists elements of knowledge, attitude, and skills. With the increasing number of visits in Bali, especially Jatiluwih Agrotourism, farmers should be the subject of management so that they can fully enjoy the benefits of the visit. With the existence of agrotourism, agriculture and tourism can be a pair of harmonious sectors. Tourist’s feedback on the satisfaction and intention to revisit can be an input in the effort to increasing the farmer’s capacity in agrotourism management for its sustainability. This paper analyzes Farmer’s Capacity for Jatiluwih Agrotourism Management and Its Influence toward Tourist’s Satisfaction and Intention to Revisit. Primary and secondary data were obtained through interviews and filling out questionnaires with the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) analysis method. The results of Partial Least Square (PLS) analysis show that farmer’s capacity has a significant effect on tourists’s satisfaction, which leads to tourists’s intention to revisit. it is expected that higher capacity of agroutourism management among farmers will increase tourist’s satisfaction which affects tourist’s intention to revisit hence, improving the welfare of the community, especially farmers in Jatiluwih Agrotourism. Purpose The purpose of this paper is to determine the moderating role of green lifestyle to the impact of green human resource management (GHRM) on employee’s job performance from various industries and a possible spillover of GHRM to employee’s lifestyle. Design/methodology/approach Structural equation modeling and exploratory factor analysis were utilized in order to determine the relationship of the variables. A survey questionnaire was distributed to 332 respondents from various private industries who were randomly selected for this study. Findings This study shows that the implementation of GHRM has an effect on an employee’s lifestyle and also on their job performance. It suggests that organizations can contribute to the environment and also maintain employees’ good performance. Research limitations/implications Considering the locus of the study, it was restricted to industries from the National Capital Region in the Philippines. The study was also limited to industries who are ISO14001 certified, aiming for that certification, or implementing green practices. The survey was also not disseminated according to age groups and gender. Therefore, researchers are encouraged to explore further the effects of these variables to other factors. Practical implications This study may encourage human resource practitioners to implement GHRM practices in the workplace to motivate employees to participate in greening the world. Originality/value This study brings great importance to the implementation of GHRM as it is needed by the current status of the world.
