The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of the nature education project on the attitudes and awareness levels of secondary school students towards the environment. The research is based on an experimental model which is a type quantitative research approaches and the population consisting of the students studying at a secondary school in Denizli. The sample of the study consists of 24 students participating in the project selected from Denizli. The first criterion for the selection of the students was determined as the participation of a 4006 science fair before, and other criteria were some variables such as academic achievement, gender, absence of health problems, and high communication skills. The data of the study collected with the journal form was used to gather the opinions and thoughts of the participants through an “Environmental Affect Scale” (EAS) consisting of 15 questions in type of five point likert scale along with another “Environmental Behavior Scale” (EBS) consists of 12 questions in type of seven point likert scale that were both developed by Sontay, Gökdere & Usta (2014). SPSS 22 program is used in the analysis of the data.When the results obtained are evaluated in general, it is evident that nature education program significantly contributes to both the environmental consciousness and environmental attitudes of the participants. In addition, in the evaluation made according to the sub-dimensions of the attitude scale, it is clearly seen that the program increases students' positive attitudes towards the environment as well as ensuring their permanence. However, no significant differences were found in the environmental perception scores of the students.

Kodály-inspired pedagogy enables students to participate effectively in a music course by engaging in active musical interactions with folk songs and melodies. The purpose of this study was to explore the effects of Kodály-inspired pedagogy on recorder performance and attitudes toward music of secondary school students. A quasi-experimental design was used in the study. The experimental group was taught using Kodály-inspired pedagogy and the control group using the general music teaching methods for 9 weeks. A two-way mixed-design analysis of variance (ANOVA) and content analysis were used to analyze the data. A Recorder Performance Grading Key, music course attitude scale, and open-ended questions were used to collect the data. Consequently, the findings indicated that Kodály-inspired pedagogy had a significant effect on the students’ recorder performance but the researchers could not find a significant effect on students’ attitudes toward the music course. Moreover, students in the experimental group reported improvement in their recorder performance and attitudes toward music education. The researchers recommended including information about the implementation of Kodály-inspired pedagogy in music teacher textbooks, providing in-service training for teachers to enable them to use Kodály-inspired pedagogy.

The investigator conducted a survey to measure the attitude of senior secondary school students having Science, Art and Commerce subjects towards the use of Internet in relation to their levels of intelligence from the district Sonepat, Haryana. The Stratified Random Sampling Technique was used to draw the sampling and was administered a self-standardized Likert Type Attitude Scale. Group Intelligence Test by Dr. S. Jalota was also used. The findings revealed that Science and Art students were not significantly different at both levels of significance in relation to their levels of intelligence. It was also revealed that Commerce students were significantly different at both levels of significance.

The purpose of the study was to examine secondary school students' attitudes towards social media and their loneliness levels in terms of gender and whether they do sports or not. The sample of the study consisted of 175 female and 269 male secondary school stıdents. To collect data personal information form, Social Media Attitude Scale (Otrar ve Argın, 2013) and UCLA Loneliness Scale (Russell, Peplau, & Cutrona, 1980) were used to in this study. Independent t test analysis was conducted to examine whether the participants' social media attitudes and loneliness levels differed with regard to gender and do sport. According to the results, there was no significant difference in social media attitudes (t = -.832, p > .05) with regard to gender. However, loneliness levels of the participants seems to be significantly different with regard to gender (t = -6.513, p = .000). When the participants were examined whether they do sports or not, there was not any significant difference in social media attitudes (t = -.427, p> .05). However, the levels of loneliness was significantly found to be different in terms of doing sports or not (t = -3.675, p = .000). Furthermore, there was not a significant relationship between social media attitudes and loneliness (p > .05). It can be concluded that sport and regular physical activity can be considered as a means to provide environments where individuals will feel far away from the feeling of loneliness and that they will feel themselves more valuable.

Physics is among the significant science subjects taught at the secondary school level in Nigerias education system. There has been a growing concern about the poor performance in physics in Nigeria. The present study was aimed to determine teachers likability as a factor that could influence students attitudes towards physics. The study adopted a cross-sectional survey. The population of the survey includes secondary school students in the Kogi State of Nigeria. Participants comprised males and females senior secondary school students. They were mainly pooled from the science class. One hundred and thirty-nine students participated in the study. Data was collected using a Teachers Likability Scale and the Physics Attitude Scale (PAS). The result revealed that most of the respondents indicated a negative attitude toward the subject (M = 0.87, SD = 0.35), while few (M = 0.18, SD = 0.39) showed a positive attitude towards the subject. A linear regression model was conducted to test the study hypothesis.The result showed that teachers likability statistically significantly predicted attitude towards physics F(1,137), 124.617 P< .05. The study concluded that a teachers likability is a significant predictor of attitude towards physics. Thus, it is recommended that teachers should be more facilitators than strict instructors.

AbstractThe computer gaming addiction is one of the newer concepts that young generations face and can be defined as the excessive and problematic use of computer games leading to social and/or emotional problems. The purpose of this study is to analyse through variables the computer gaming addiction levels of secondary school students. The research was conducted with survey and causal-comparative quantitative research methods. Furthermore, the quantitative data was obtained by interpreting the data obtained through open-ended questions. Findings reveal a significant difference between computer gaming addiction and variables of gender, daily gaming times and whether or not students play games with people they do not know. However, findings did not show any significant difference between computer gaming addiction and variables of grade or purposes of game playing. According to the findings from qualitative data analysis, students mostly prefer to play skill-based games, while they would want to design action games.Keywords: Computer gaming, daily gaming times, game addiction, purposes of game playing, secondary school students.

The study was carried out to find out the knowledge and attitude on STDs and HIV and AIDS among Secondary School students of Kathmandu District. This study followed the simple random sampling method to select the respondents. Altogether 120adolescents were the respondents of the study and questionnaire and attitude scale were the tools of the study. The study found that, 25 percent answered full form of STDs and HIV and AIDS correctly. Almost 50 percent of the respondents had knowledge about commercial sex workers who had high risk of STDs and HIV transmission. Similarly, 62.5 percent respondents who answered sex education is needed and same percent expressed condom is on of the most important devices that protect STDs and HIV and AIDS transmission. Premarital and extra marital sex may cause STDs and HIV and AIDS was responded as 25.00, 23.33, 18.33, 30.00 and 3.33 percent as strongly agreed, agreed, undecided, disagreed and strongly disagreed respectively. In the statement ‘students must get proper sexual and reproductive health from junior to higher education’ to prevent and control HIV and AIDS and other STDs and 30.00, 23.33, 15.00, 8.33 and 23.33 percent respondents agreed, undecided, disagreed and strongly disagreed respectively. It seems that respondents were deprived to get proper knowledge on STDs and HIV and AIDS. Hence, government must monitor schools whether they are providing SRH properly or not and also government must appoint the concern academic background HPE Ed. teacher to teach SRH matter properly.

Purpose – The purpose of this study is to investigate secondary school students’ pedagogical use of information communication and technologies (ICT), their attitudes toward integration of ICT and the differences in their attitudes based on gender, school type and location. Design/methodology/approach – The data was collected and analyzed using descriptive statistics, multivariate analysis of variance and multiple regression analysis. Findings – The study revealed that students’ use of ICT to support their learning was low. Students mostly used ICT to communicate with peers. Students’ methods of assimilating knowledge were through teacher-centred teaching, even though they somewhat used ICT for collaborative and inquiry learning. Students in public schools perceived the use of ICT more valuable than students in private schools. Also, the study provided evidence that students in urban and rural schools differed in their attitudes in terms of perceived value and cost of ICT use, but no differences in attitude in terms of expectancy of success were found to exist among students in all locations. Originality/value – The study provided further evidence that the value of ICT positively related to students’ pedagogical use of ICT, but the effect was very limited. This implies that although students have positive attitudes toward the benefits of ICT in learning; many do not integrate the technology into their learning. Lastly, the study was able to provide additional evidence that perceived cost negatively related to students’ pedagogical use of technology, but the result was very small. This indicates that since many students do not utilize ICT in their learning they rarely encounter barriers or challenges when it comes to the integration of the technology into their studies.
