It is a common goal to try to educate students as natural users of language, as emphasized by the studies on learning English today and the recently renewed 2017- 2018 curriculum in Turkey. In this respect, the learning of language based on four basic skills is considered to bring the importance of these skills is emerging. This study is a qualitative study that determines the teachers’ opinions on the problems they encounter in the process of teaching four basic skills. At this qualitative study in the 2017-2018 academic year, teachers were chosen by the criterion sampling method, face-to-face interviews were conducted with eight English teachers working in a city of Turkey. The research was conducted in a case study design in a holistic multi-state pattern. Semi-structured interview form was used as data collection tool. Data was analyzed by content analysis method. Teachers’ opinions on the subject were discussed according to sub-problems and comments and suggestions were made.

Education is one of the sectors that is badly influenced by covid-19 pandemic where the learning process is carried out from home. This sudden pandemic requires teachers to switch from face-to-face learning into learning domain with technological network. The objective of this study was to describe English teachers’ perception toward the switch from offline to online teaching during lockdown in the midst of covid19 outbreak. The subject of study was 50 English teachers of Senior High School in Banyuwangi. The research method was case study with qualitative research approach. The data needed collected by distributing Google form questionnaire and interview. The result of study indicated that English teachers’ perception about online teaching have not been performed properly, they stated that only for about 35% students who were active and really serious in carrying out online learning and collecting the assignments given on time because of lacking flexibility and access from teachers in controlling students’ learning activities. 68% teachers felt that their workload was heavier if compared to face-to-face learning because they need additional time to operate appropriate online learning media and package interesting learning in order to be able to increase students’ motivation and desire in English lesson.

In this study, it is aimed to examine the opinions of class teachers about digital game-based teaching. The model of the research, which adopts the qualitative research approach, is the case study. Within the scope of the purpose of the study, opinions were obtained on a voluntary basis from the class teachers selected by the criterion sampling method, one of the purposeful sampling methods. The participants of the research are 30 class teachers working under the Ministry of National Education in the 2020-2021 academic year. A semi-structured interview form was used as a data collection tool. The collected data were analyzed by content analysis method. In line with the findings obtained, conclusions and recommendations have been given.

The purpose of this case study is to identify the influence of citizenship status in teenagers’ self- concept who are at Kuala Lumpur Krash pad. The study is specifically conducted among those teenagers who do not hold any citizenship status and attending KL Krash pad regulary. This is a qualitative study in which the data was gatherd by conducting a face to face session using a structured interview questions. The content of the interview was divided into five sections namely; demographic, experiences, behavioural, status, and social interactions (communication). There were six participants involed in this study who were from the range of age 13-18 years old. The data was then analised for key words and gategorised under specific themes in which became the factors in contributing the influence of citizenship status on self-concept among the non Malaysian /boaderless teenagers who are attending programs at Kuala Lumpur Krash Pad.

The purpose of this study is to examine English teaching practices through distance education based on the experiences of English teachers during the COVID-19 pandemic. The research is a case study designed according to the qualitative research model. The study group of the research, which were determined through easily accessible case sampling, consists of 13 English teachers employed in public and private lower secondary schools. The data of the study were collected through a semi-structured interview form. Content analysis method was used to analyze the data. The main results of the research can be listed as follows: For most teachers, the course preparation process in distance education is more comprehensive and time-consuming than face-to-face education. However, there are also teachers who do not try too much to plan the process and stay away from technology. The positive reflections of the preparation process on the teaching process, such as providing a variety of methods, techniques, materials, activities and employing technology more, were observed. Teachers evaluate more on homework, student participation and effort. The majority of teachers find distance language teaching sustainable within the framework of their own experience. When the findings of the research are evaluated together, distance language teaching seems to have the potential to be an educational opportunity when it is carried out under appropriate conditions.

The aim of this study is to identify the perspectives of parents on the "Social Studies" course. The case study design,one of the qualitative research methods, was used in accordance with the nature of the study. Data related to the studywere obtained through a semi-structured interview form prepared by the researchers. The data of the study wereobtained from the parents of students attending 5th, 6th and 7th grade of a state secondary school located in theIstanbul-Sultanbeyli district in the spring semester of 2017 and 2018 academic year. The data obtained were analyzedby content analysis. According to the data obtained from the research, the following results were obtained: Themajority of the parents apparently linked the concept of Social Studies to the concepts of History, Geography,Citizenship and Socialization. Parents thought that the subjects related to History, Geography, Citizenship Rights,Culture, Democracy, Human Rights and the life of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk were taught in the Social Studies course.Nevertheless, it was seen that the parents wished to see the concepts such as Love of Motherland, Nation, Communityand National Flag, Etiquette, Cultural Values, Freedom, Democracy, Equality to be taught in the Social Studies courses.While the parents mostly compared the Social Studies courses with such organs as the Brain, Kidney, Heart, Eye,Stomach and Intestine, they considered it as appropriate to place this course in the last places in terms of importance. Inaddition, it was found that majority of the parents did not want their children to become social studies teachers in thefuture.

This study was conducted to reveal the aspect of distance education studies on teaching of mathematics with the evaluation by class teachers during the Covid-19 Pandemic period. 24 primary school teachers from Onikisubat district of Kahramanmaras province have participated in the research. The semi-structured interview form developed in line with the expert opinions was applied to the primary school teachers separately. This study was required in order to evaluate the events experienced in the distance education process due to the coronavirus pandemic and the effects of the pandemic on the field of education in the direction of the opinions of the class teachers. Qualitative research was carried out to interpret any situation from a different perspective in the study, and a case study has been conducted to reach the depth of the situation. As a data collection tool, a semi-structured interview form was prepared with the approval of expert opinions. After the data were brought together, content analysis was carried out by giving similar descriptions and describing them in a way that the reader could comprehend. The sample of the study consisted of teachers who personally experienced the process in the nearby environment, which consists of easily accessible situation sampling in order to accelerate the study. It is thought that it will be important to work properly execution of the processes that may occur in such times by determining the causes and consequences of the situations experienced in the field of education due to reasons such as the suspension of face-to-face education and the cessation of schools after the pandemic in the world. As a result of the research, suggestions will be made for the studies that can be done about teaching mathematics in distance education.

In this study, the perceptions of fathers with children in the preschool period towards the concept of fatherhood, a lifelong learning process, and father education after the father education they received, were examined. The study was carried out with a qualitative research method. The sample of the study consisted of 14 fathers who had children attending two kindergartens in Kocaeli in the 2018-2019 academic year and volunteering to participate in the study. Fourteen fathers in the group were interviewed after the training program was applied. As a result of the face-to-face interviews with the semi-structured interview form, what they expressed about fatherhood, how they expressed themselves as fathers in the lifelong learning process, and their thoughts on participation in father education were obtained. It is known that the father has a critical role in the formation of the child's personality. Father education should be given importance to raise happy and healthy individuals. Today, it has been observed that there is a transition from the patriarchal social structure to modernity, and the fathers' traditional thoughts have changed, and they have started to think more child-oriented. In recent years Clicker technology has been widely used at universities to provide interactive learning environments<em>. </em>It is used with suitable pedagogic approaches to obtain the expected learning outcome. The aim of the study is to specify student views about the environment developed as a result of the integration of Team-based learning strategy and clicker technology in education. The participants are 30 first-year engineering students taking Physics I at Near East University. A case study design was used in this research. After overviewing the literature, the researcher prepared a semi-structured interview form to collect the data. İnterviews at the voluntary base was given after a five-week application process. The data were analyzed through content analysis method. The findings indicated that student perception of clicker supported Team-Based learning was positive. The students admitted that this environment enhanced their learning and they even made suggestions. This study can help educationalists integrate clicker technology in Team-Based learning strategy.

This study aims to find out and describe the students’ positive responses toward homework given by English teachers at grade twelve in SMK Negeri 3 Purworejo in the academic year of 2014/2015. The subject of the research is students of SMK Negeri 3 Purworejo grade twelve in the academic year of 2014/2015. The approach is qualitative naturalistic and the data were taken using open questionnaire. The research finding reveals 21 final categories. From those 21 final categories, there are four main components which are important to be explored further. Those four components are students, homework materials, teachers, and facilities. The positive responses toward homework coming from the students are satisfaction and happiness if they can do it without cheating. They are challenged in doing the homework and get new knowledge. Doing the listening homework trains students to concentrate. They better understand the learning material, develop their self-confidence, and express their ideas and opinions. For homework materials, the students’ positive responses are dominated by the material that students have already learned and have not learned yet. The positive responses based on teachers are the English teachers have to discuss and give scores of the homework. Regarding facilities, the students consider that the school’s facilities should be various and complete to help them do the homework.

One of the tools that indicate the relationship between concepts is the volume of concept. Volume of concept is displayed that the relations between the concepts of the subject are exhibited in a meaningful harmonious and circular manner in a certain order. The purpose of this research; to be able to determine the usefulness volume of concept, from association tools of concept, in educational process. A mixed method was used in this study. Frequency and percentage values were calculated using comparative samples in the quantitative aspect of the study. In the qualitative aspect of work was used structured interview form, face to face interviews which were identified to code-categories and analyzed the data. As a result of the work, students had difficulty in drawing the volume of concept but they had expressed that the volume of concept was clearer. Moreover, it was determined that the rate of preference volume of concept during the exam was low. It can be said that use of the ready-made form of the volume of concept was increases although a small proportion of students prefer concept volume when presented in the same way with another tools. Various suggestions have been made as a result of the research.
