The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between digital game dependence levels and violence tendency levels of high school students. In the present research, relational survey model has been used. The population of the study consists of 9th, 10th, 11th grade students in the high schools in Battalgazi and Yeşilyurt districts of Malatya in the spring term of 2018-2019 academic year. Simple random sampling method has been used for our sample selection. Digital Game Addiction Scale (DGAS-7) was used to determine the level of digital game addiction, and Violence Tendency Scale (VRS) was used to determine the levels of violence tendency. DGAS-7 was developed by Lemmens et al. (2009). To determine the problematic digital game behaviors of adolescents between the ages of 12-18. It has been developed by Haskan and Yıldırım to measure the tendency of violence among adolescents. According to the results obtained in our research; according to the monotetic format, 4.6% of the students participating in the research were addicted to digital games, while 95.4% were not dependent. According to the polythetic format, while 21.7% is addicted to digital games, 78.3% is not addicted. There was a statistically significant difference between female and male students in terms of digital game addiction and violence tendency in favor of female students. There was also a significant difference between the levels of digital game addiction and violence tendency according to mobile phone ownership. This difference is in favor of students who do not have mobile phones. There has been a statistically significant difference between the levels of digital game addiction in favor of the students who do not have mobile internet connection, but no significant difference has been found between the levels of violence tendency. There has been a statistically significant difference between non-dependent students in terms of violent tendency levels in terms of digital game addiction in monotetic and polythetic format. The level of violence tendency of non-dependent students is lower than that of dependent students. There has been a statistically significant difference between digital game addiction levels and violence tendency levels according to the duration of digital game play. This difference is in favor of students who play less time in a day. There has been a positive and moderate relationship between digital game addiction levels and violence tendency levels.

This study aims to determine the relationship between the digital game addiction levels of secondary and high school students and their motivation for participation in physical activity during the pandemic process. the study participants include a total of 322 students, 227 males, and 95 females, aged between 11 and 18. the game addiction scale for adolescents and the motivation scale for participation in physical activity were used as data collection tools in the study. in the statistical method of the study, descriptive statistics (frequency, arithmetic mean, standard deviation), t-test, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), Tukey multiple comparisons, and Pearson correlation tests were used. In the research findings, it has been determined that there is a negative and low-level significant relationship between the individual reasons and causelessness sub-dimensions of the motivation scale for participation in physical activity and digital game addiction. there was a significant difference in the game addiction scale and sub-dimensions of the motivation for participation in physical activity according to the duration of digital gaming of the students and their education levels. A significant difference was determined in the motivation scale for participation in physical activity according to the branch variable, and in the scale of game addiction according to the situation of the parents’ setting limits on the duration of digital gaming. A significant difference was not found in either scale according to gender. As a result, it was observed that the more the motivation for participation in physical activity, the lower the digital game addiction.

The aim of this study was to investigate the digital game addiction levels of the high school students, according to some variables such as sports participation, gender, place of accommodation and level of income.The sample group comprises 931 high school students (508, %54,6 female and 423, %45,4 male) from several villages, districts and Kutahya city center (a town in the west part of Turkey with the population of 325.000). They participated to the study voluntarily. In addition to personal information from prepared by the researcher, the game addiction scale developed by Lemmens et al. (2009) and adapted to Turkish by Irmak and Erdogan (2015) was used as a data gathering tool. It is a five point Likert type scale and has one factor and seven items. In order to evaluate the results the descriptive statistical methods (percentage (%), frequency (f) and t-test, one-way ANOVA) were used.As a result, the significant difference was determined regarding digital game addiction [t (931)=-3,76; p=0,00]  between the students who participate to the sports activities and who do not. So, the non-participant students found more game addicted. According to the gender, male students were determined more addicted than females [t (931)=9,45; p=0,00]. No significant difference was determined in terms of the place where the students lived (p=0,56, p>0,05). Finally, the significant difference was determined in terms of the income levels, [f (931)=3,07; p=0,01] on behalf of  the students who had good income level. They found more addicted.

This study aims to investigate digital game addiction of high school students according to gender and regular sport participation. For this 398 high school students who were randomly chosen voluntarily participated in the study. In addition to personal information from the Turkish version of Lemmens and colleagues’a  game addiction scale was used as a  data gathering tool. The Turkish adaptation of the scale was done by Aylin Yalcın Irmak and Semra Erdogan in 2015. The Turkish version of the scale consists of one factor and seven items anchored with a five Likert type scale. In the evaluation of the data linear regression was used. The findings of this study revealed that there was a positive relationship between gender and digital game addiction

Emotional maturity indicates the state of mind where an individual can balance his/ her emotions and know how to handle the hard situation without feeling panic. The objectives of the study is to find out the relationship between emotional maturity and altruistic behaviour in relation to high school student’s gender, place of residence and type of school management. In the present study, the researchers adopted normative survey method with simple random sampling to select a sample of 160 high school students aged 14 –16 years in Sonitpur district of Assam. The researcher collected and analyzed the data statistically by using mean, standard deviation, and t-test. The findings of this study indicate that emotional maturity and altruistic behaviour has positive (relationship and there is a significant mean difference in emotional maturity among male and female students, rural and urban, and government and private school students.

<p>The purpose of the current study is to determine the relationship between secondary and high school students’ ecocentric, anthropocentric and antiphatic attitudes towards the environment and their academic achievement. The study was conducted with the participation of totally 854 students attending secondary and high schools in the city of Aksaray in the spring term of 2013-2014 school year. In the collection of the data, “Ecocentric, Anthropocentric and Antipathic Environmental Attitude Scale” developed by Thompson and Barton (1994) and adapted to Turkish by Erten (2007) was used. In the analysis of the data, one-way variance analysis and Pearson Correlation analysis were conducted. At the end of the study, a significant difference was found in the ecocentric attitude mean scores of the secondary school students in favor of the students having higher academic achievement (F=3.161; p&lt;.05) and a significant difference was found in the antipathic attitude scores of the students in favor of those having lower academic achievement (F=14.700; p&lt;.001). No significant difference based on the students’ academic achievement was found in the students’ anthropocentric attitude scores (F=.755; p&gt;.05). The high school students’ ecocentric, anthropocentric and anthipatic attitude scores were found to be not significantly varying depending on their academic achievement (F=.749, .287 and 2.113; p&gt;.05, respectively). On the other hand, a low and positive correlation was found between the secondary school students’ academic achievements in Science and Social Studies courses and their ecocentric attitude scores (r=.139, .144; p&lt;.01, respectively) and a negative correlation was found with their achievements and antipathic attitude scores (r=-.242, -.284; p&lt;.001, respectively). No significant correlation was found between their achievements in these courses and anthropocentric attitude scores. A low and positive correlation was found between the high school students’ ecocentric attitude scores and their academic achievement in Geography course (r=.126; p&lt;.05). A low and negative correlation was found between the students’ antipathic attitude scores and their achievements in Biology course (r=-.237; p&lt;.01), in Chemistry course (r=-.145; p&lt;.05) and in Geography course (r=-.128; p&lt;.05). No significant correlation was found between the students’ anthropocentric attitude scores and their achievements in these courses. No significant correlation was found between the students’ anthropocentric and antipathic environmental attitudes and their academic achievements in Physics and Health Knowledge courses. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between students'performance in online reading literacy and Information Communication Technology (ICT) familiarity for junior high school students. The primary data collection instruments were the researcher-designed Taiwan Adolescent Digital Reading Assessment and the PISA 2003 (Programme for International Student Assessment) ICT familiarity questionnaire to illustrate features of online reading literacy, overview of ICT familiarity, and interpretation of ICT familiarly with respect to online reading literacy. A total of 601 8th graders, 317 male and 284 female, participated in this study (N=601). Polytomous Rasch unidimensional IRT was adapted to estimate the scale scores and indicators, and linear regression was used to analyze the interpretation of all indicators toward online reading literacy. The results indicated that the online reading literacy of most students was situated on grade level. 8th graders can retrieve information from single webpage, can retrieve one or more source of information across multiple webpages, and can interpret the location of the information after searching several webpages; they can integrate information from designated webpages or from problem-related webpages; they can evaluate the reliability of data sources. 8th graders have reasonable frequency of computer use, and moderate computer using confidence. There is no significant difference of ICT familiarity between males and females. Among all the variables of ICT familiarity, frequency of using computer at home ranked first for explaining the online reading literacy level (R2=.14). However, frequency of using ICT and confidence did not positively correlate with online reading literacy.

Although the developments in technology have made our lives and daily activities easier, it is believed that problematic and excessive use of technology could have some negative effects on people. One of these negative effects is the prevalence of nomophobia, which is considered as a new phobia in recent years. Nomophobia is defined as the fear and anxiety when an individual cannot access his or her mobile/smart phone or cannot have the chance to communicate online and offline via mobile devices. Nomophobic tendencies can change individuals’ daily habits. Negative emotions due to nomophobic tendencies like fear and anxiety especially in young people is thought to affect their school lives and academic achievements. The purpose of this research is to analyze the prevalence of nomophobia among high school students regarding various factors. The Nomophobia Scale (NMP-Q), which was used in this study, was developed by Yildirim and Correia (2015), and adapted into Turkish by Yildirim, Sumuer, Adnan and Yildirim (2015). The study group consists of 475 high school students attending six different schools situated in diverse socio-economic areas in Izmir and Edirne in 2015-2016 education year. The study was conducted in survey model and descriptive statistics. T-test for independent samples and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) techniques were used at the analysis stage. According to the findings, mean scores obtained from the scale demonstrated that the levels of nomophobic behaviors of high school students were above the average. Besides, female students have higher nomophobia levels compared to male students in terms of gender variable and a significant difference was found in terms of the duration of mobile internet usage. A significant difference could not be found in terms of the variables such as grade, parents’ education levels, and the duration of smartphone usage. Furthermore, the study has revealed that high school students use their smartphones and mobile internet largely for social networks, music, communication, photographs, education, research, games and videos.
