In recent decades teamwork has become not only a  popular topic for public discussion, but also the focus of numerous scientific insights. The abundance of publications on this subject suggests that organizing teamwork has become one of the phenomena of organi‑ zational activity. On the other hand, based on his numerous research, the author of the paper raises the question of whether the concept of teamwork analysed in such publications is studied within the framework of scientific concepts. For instance, some authors believe that the only distinguishing feature of a team is an efficiently working group; the formation of the team is a long‑term process and to achieve this the group needs to undergo several stages of development (Hersey, Blanchard, Tuckman, Jensen, Katzenbach, Smith, Liker, Kasiulis, Barvydienė, Savanavičienė, Šilingienė, Gražulis); other authors use these concepts as synonyms (Boddy, Peiton) and analyse them in the context of formal and informal sta‑ tus. Thus, the concept of effective and ineffective teams has become the additional object of the research. Numerous researchers limit their research to the analysis of functional roles within well‑established teams (Benne, Sheats), at the same time neglecting the impact of personality traits on the activity of the work group. Specialists do not agree on the team size (Manz, Sims, Miller, Stoner et. al.), purpose (Meskon, Katzenbach, Smith, Sakalas et. al.), and periodically arising constraints on the team development and the like. As a result, scholars and practitioners perceive the issues of team work differently, thus they often talk at cross purposes. The author of the paper believes that it is expedient to consider the information collected up to now on the topic of teamwork within the overall context of the development of management science, which at the same time would provide for the development of conceptual theoretical proposals for scientific teamwork models (systems).

Purpose As economies with high economic complexity and productive capabilities may easily adapt their productive structure due to product differentiation and innovation, the central variable of competitiveness for these countries is the product quality, not price. On the other hand, the price can be an important determinant of less complex countries, and hence, real exchange rate (RER) misalignments may have long-term impacts. This paper aims to empirically assess variations in the magnitude of the impact in RER misalignments on output growth subject to countries’ economic complexity. Design/methodology/approach The estimation technique used is the generalized method of moments-System estimator as this method is robust to reverse causality. Heterogeneous regressions using interaction models are undertaken to analyze to what extend promoting economic complexity can reduce price competitiveness dependence and allow countries to grow faster without relying on cost competitiveness. Findings Estimates show that economic complexity (which measures technological and productive capabilities) determines cross-country differences regarding the effects of RER misalignments on countries’ long-term growth rates. The results suggest that exchange rate devaluations may not be effective for countries at the top end of the technological ladder while an overvalued RER may damage the long-term growth rate of countries with low levels of economic complexity. Originality/value This paper contributes to the literature by empirically investigating the impact of RER misalignments in countries with distinct technological and productive capabilities based on the recent developments of countries’ economic complexity analysis. It investigates whether more diversified and complex economies are less sensitive to RER misalignments as they can adapt their production, undertake other tasks, create new products and increase the quality of products they produce. Less complex economies, on the other hand, are less capable of innovating because it demands productive capabilities they do not have, and hence, they are more dependent on their current export basket.

As the COVID-19 pandemic has spread across the world, the existence of disruptions in demand and supply have become more severe, conducted by containment measures taken by countries and affecting different sectors around the world. Although businesses and workplaces are restarting activities in some countries, with containment measures gradually being lifted, overall consumer demand is expected to remain low, also determined by the loss of jobs and income. Therefore, the scale of the impact on supply chains exceeded anything most companies had anticipated. This study aims to understand how companies were affected and identify some lessons learned about their vulnerabilities and the possible ways to address them in the long term. On the other hand, it is intended to reveal some of the impacts of COVID-19 and make some practical suggestions that can help in political and operational decisions to strengthen and build additional resilience in supply chains in the future.

This paper evaluates the impact of long-term supplementation of different forms of zinc (Zn) and selenium (Se) on the content of these substances in the blood and hair of goats. Two analogous supplementation experiments were performed. 37 goats divided into four groups were used in the first trial with the Zn supplementation. Group A (n = 10) was a control group (with no Zn administered). A further three groups (B, C, D) were supplemented with Zn in various forms. Group B (n = 9) with zinc oxide, Group C (n = 9) with zinc lactate and Group D (n = 9) with zinc chelate. The second trial with Se supplementation was carried out on 20 goats divided into four groups. Group E (n = 5) was a control group. The other three groups were administered Se. Group F (n = 5) was supplied with a selenium lactate-protein complex, Group G (n = 5) with sodium selenite and Group H (n = 5) with selenium yeast. Three months later blood and hair samples were taken from all animals and Zn and Se concentrations were determined in whole blood, plasma, and hair. Glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px) activity was determined in the Se supplementation trial group. At the end of the trial the Zn concentrations in plasma and whole blood were without major differences between the groups. The plasma concentration of Zn did not increase from the initial value at the start of the trial. In hair the average concentration of Zn was 95.2&ndash;100.0 mg/kg<br />in all groups. No conclusive relation was confirmed between the values of Zn in hair and its concentration in blood. The Se concentration in whole blood (&micro;g/l) at the end of trial in supplemented groups (F &ndash; 188.8 &plusmn; 24.6; G &ndash; 197.2 &plusmn; 10.9; H &ndash; 190.1 &plusmn; 26.3) was significantly higher (P &lt; 0.01) than in the control group (E &ndash; 103.1 &plusmn; 23.5). Similarly, the activity of GSH-Px (&micro;kat/l) was significantly higher in all supplemented groups (F &ndash; 872.3 &plusmn; 94.8; G &ndash; 659.5 &plusmn; 176.4; H &ndash; 839.8 &plusmn; 150.8) than in the control group (E &ndash; 379.1 &plusmn; 63.5). Se content in hair (&micro;g/kg) was higher also in all trial groups (F &ndash; 242.3 &plusmn; 41.5; G &ndash; 200.5 &plusmn; 46.9; H &ndash; 270.0 &plusmn; 106.8) than in the control group (E &ndash; 174.7 &plusmn; 38.0). However, it was significantly (P &lt; 0.05) higher only in Group F. A conclusive correlation was identified between the Se concentration in whole blood and its content in hair (r = 0.54; P &lt; 0.05; n = 20). Based on the results it can be concluded that none of the supplemented forms of Zn increased its concentration in blood, plasma and hair. On the other hand, the administration of Se led to an increase in the Se concentration in blood, increased the activity of GSH-Px in whole blood and the Se content in hair. Based on the proven correlation and regression relation between the Se concentration in blood and its content in hair, hair can be considered as a suitable material for the diagnosis of long-term Se status in goats. Goats with sufficient Se status are those that have more than 160 &micro;g/kg of Se in hair dry weight.

The impact of four metaphysical beliefs on death anxiety was investigated. Beliefs about the existence and attributes of God, afterlife, and consequences of suffering were chosen for study. It was hypothesized that any belief which assures the individual a continued existence beyond death would reduce the degree of anxiety felt on encountering death-related stimuli. A test including pictures depicting death and non-death scenes was constructed to measure death anxiety. The sample included 120 householders (60 heads of unsettled and 60 heads of settled families). Half of them lived in high exposure to death sight areas and the other half lived in low exposure areas. Subjects from only low exposure areas revealed significant relationships between beliefs and death anxiety. The results of this study suggest that the beliefs play functional roles that are different for people with different needs.

Learning letters is associated with a long-term learning. Two basic models are present in obtaining letters in a systematic literacy in Slovenia and abroad. One represents a separate acquisition of the uppercase and lowercase printed letters (sequentially) and the other deals with letters simultaneously. In practice, teachers often asked themselves, especially in times of reforms in literacy, which model of the acquisition of the letters in initial literacy is more efficient. The research focused on the effect of the two most frequently chosen procedures for acquiring letters of structured literacy in Slovenia, namely the simultaneous treatment of the uppercase and lowercase printed letters (lowercase cursive letters and upper-case cursive letters) and consecutive treatment of letters (uppercase printed letters, lowercase printed letters, lowercase cursive letters, and at last, uppercase printed letters). Furthermore, the focus of the research was on the impact of gender on the ability to write. The incidence of errors was observed in terms of selected procedures for acquiring the letters in groups and gender. At the same time, the effect of consolidation of writing individual letters (uppercase and lowercase printed letters in 2nd class, and lowercase and uppercase cursive letters in 3rd class), was examined. Key words: literacy, the process of acquiring letters, 2nd class, 3rd class, prior knowledge, writing skills.

A surge in new firm registrations have been one of the most intriguing outcomes of the economic turbulence caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Turkey followed a similar pattern to many other economies that observed an initial drop and a rapid V-shaped recovery of entry when the virus hit the country. However, the size distribution of new firms has been very different. While others experience a strong rise in smaller entrants, larger firms have dominated the pack in Turkey. As a widely-known long-term problem of the Turkish economy, which has been accused of causing the stagnation of growth, miniscule firms have been losing their weight rapidly among the entrants. It revives lost hopes for the future of the economy and also motivates questions regarding the other determinants of such transformation in new firm formation.

Although alloHCT is an accepted salvage treatment in defined settings of poor-risk NHL, its potential benefit in these indications remains controversial because virtually all published studies are uncontrolled and restricted to patients who were actually able to undergo transplantation. Here, we aimed at assessing the impact of alloHCT by measuring its outcome from the time of donor search indication rather than from the time of transplant, thereby taking into account those patients who fail to proceed to allografting for any reason. Study design and patients : In a single centre retrospective analysis, course and outcome of all patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL), follicular lymphoma (FL) mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) and peripheral T-cell lymphoma (PTCL) who were considered as having an alloHCT indication according to accepted guidelines between 2004 and 2018 were recorded. Primary endpoint was overall survival (OS) from start of donor search. A key secondary endpoint was comparison of OS from the 3-month landmark by donor availability. Accepted donors were matched related donors (MRD), 10/10 matched unrelated donors (MUD), 9/10 compatible unrelated donors (MMUD), and mismatched related donors (MMRD), with haplo donors being used at our institution only since 2014. Results : Altogether a donor search was initiated in 187 patients (DLBCL 32%, FL 17%, MCL 23%, PTCL 28%). Median age was 54 (19-69) years with 74% being male. Within a median time from diagnosis to search initiation of 1.1 (0.1-19) years, a median of 4 (1-9) treatment lines had been administered, including an autoHCT in 50%. 69% of the patients had active disease at the time of search initiation. Only 2 patients underwent donor search in 1st remission (for Richter transformation and hepatosplenic T cell lymphoma, respectively). With a median follow-up of 6.2 (0.6-15.9) years, OS at 5 years after search initiation for DLBCL, FL, MCL, and PTCL was 25%, 44%, 52%, and 50%, respectively (Fig 1). 171 patients (91%) were alive at the 3-month landmark. For these, an MRD (20%), MUD (44%), MMUD (25%), or MMRD (7%) could be identified in 96% of the cases. AlloHCT was performed in 72% of all 187 patients, and in 79% of the patients alive at the 3-month landmark, with a significantly lower rate in DLBCL (69%) compared to the other entities. In patients who were actually transplanted, 5-year OS from landmark for DLBCL, FL, MCL and PTCL was 32%, 63%, 62%, and 62%, respectively, whereas only 5 of the 36 patients (14%) alive at the 3-month landmark not undergoing alloHCT for any reason survived long term. Due to the low rate of unsuccessful searches, donor vs no-donor landmark survival analyses were not possible. Conclusions: Despite donor search now being successful in virtually all cases, 20-30% of those patients intended for alloHCT for NHL will never proceed to transplant. However, long-term OS by ITT does not seem substantially worse than alloHCT outcome observed in registry studies restricted to patients actually transplanted, with DLBCL appearing inferior to the other 3 entities. Patients surviving the 3-month landmark but not undergoing alloHCT for any reason have a poor outlook. These results may serve as benchmark for novel therapeutic options entering the NHL treatment landscape. Disclosures Luft: Neovii: Research Funding; JAZZ: Research Funding. The persistence of symptoms after recovery from Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) is defined as long COVID, an entity that had occurred among adults but which is not yet well characterized in pediatric ages. The purpose of this work was to present some of the data from a survey addressed to Italian pediatricians concerning the impact of long-COVID among children who recovered from severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection. The questionnaire was designed and pre-tested in February 2021 by a working group of experts from the Italian Pediatric Society for Allergy and Immunology (SIAIP). The survey was emailed once in March 2021 to a sample of Italian pediatricians. A total 267 Italian pediatricians participated in our survey. According to most pediatricians (97.3%), the persistence of symptoms is found in less than 20% of children. Specifically, with regard to the symptoms that persist even after swab negativization, fatigue was the most mentioned one (75.6%). Long-COVID would seem to be a phenomenon of limited occurrence in pediatric ages, affecting less than 20% of children. Among all of the symptoms, the one that was most prevalent was fatigue, a pathological entity that is associated with many viral diseases.

The impact of Coronavirus disease has transcended beyond imaginable. Everyone is vulnerable and no one on this planet can safely say that he or she is protected against the deadly virus. All governments are taking immediate steps to address the ensuing repercussion of the pandemic, both on a short-term and long-term basis. Malaysia has passed a law that provides for temporary measures to reduce the impact of COVID-19 on the general economic sectors affecting the general economic well-being of the country. This paper explains the provisions of the COVID-19 Act 2020 and the specific other laws that it intends to modify therein. In particular, the paper highlights the establishment of a mediation process in respect of disputes arising from the inability to perform contractual obligations by parties during the pandemic. The paper concurs that COVID-19 Act 2020 attempts to cover quite comprehensive temporary measures to address issues relating to the pandemic and in the process provides validity to the actions taken by various parties before its commencement. On the other hand, the paper argues that several vague and uncertain provisions of the law led to questionable application and implication thus creating doubts as to its effectiveness.
