Introduction. Injuries of the ankle joint are among the most common injuries of the locomotor system, occurring both among athletes and people involved in amateur sports and other recreational activities. The objective of the study was to assess the incidence of injuries to the ankle joint in a group of professional and amateur dancers representing different dance styles. Material and research method. The research initially covered a group of 98 dancers. Ultimately, 64 dancers qualified for the study, including 28 men (44%) and 36 women (56%) aged between 17 and 23 years. The study was conducted among the registered active dancers from all over Poland. It was based on a survey questionnaire designed by the researchers. The obtained data was subjected to calculations using the Excel 2010 spreadsheet. Results. In the group surveyed, 53 individuals (83%) suffered injury to only one ankle joint. Ankle joint injuries recurred with a variable frequency, usually between 2 and 5 times, in 7 (53%) ballroom dancers, 10 (59%) jazz dancers, 4(16%) dancers in the group of jazz dance, and 7 dancers in the group of modern jazz. Ankle joint injuries usually occurred during the training – 49 (76,6%) of the respondents, 10 individuals (15,6%) suffered injury after the training, and 5 persons (7,8%) – during various recreational activities. Conclusions. Ankle joint injuries affect a wide group of dancers, and their frequency is associated with the lack of professional experience. The majority of injuries occur in the initial period of dancing. The dance style and the type of shoes used, such as ballet shoes or highheeled shoes, have no effect on the incidence of injuries.

Traumas of ankle joint are the most common. Ankle injuries account for 20 to 30% of all traumas of the human locomotor system. During the life process, the ankle is subjected to sufficiently heavy loads, therefore joint injuries often occur. Impact injuries, strains and ruptures of ligaments, dislocations, and fractures may be caused by any careless movement. Sedentary lifestyle causes atrophy of muscles and ligaments, their endurance decreases. That is why any improper movement may lead to an ankle trauma. The relevance of this article is determined by the search of ankle joint traumas rehabilitation methods, which in the future may be a solution to the problem of children 12 to 14 years of age recovery. The authors of the article have reviewed rehabilitation methods of ankle injuries and have analyzed the influence of physical activity on the recovery process. The goal of the research is to determine the effect of rehabilitation means aimed at recovery of the ankle joint motor function. We raised a question: how the use of physical rehabilitation means may favor the improvement of functional activity of the ankle joint.

On the basis of a survey as a research method (from designing surveys to reporting on surveys), the author examined students’ perceptions of computers and information technology (IT). In fall 2005, a survey questionnaire was administered to students enrolled in education courses at a university in the western Pacific. Attention was given to four variables—gender, ethnicity, academic status and age. A Likert-scale instrument was designed for data collection. Overall, students of this sample (N = 174) had positive perceptions toward using computer technology. The results of the analysis of variance (ANOVA) analyses indicated, however, that none of the four variables were statistically significant. There were no gender, ethnicity, academic status and age differences in perceptions of technology experiences for this sample. Qualitative data (students’ essays on the use of technology) were also analyzed to support quantitative data. Implications for practice were discussed, future trends were identified and recommendations were made for further research.

Purpose: To determine the extent to which the width of the space in the medial tibiotalar joint depends on plantar flexion. Material and Methods: Thirty healthy volunteers were studied by means of a.p. roentgenograms of the left ankle both in a neutral position and in plantar flexion. Results: The medial joint space showed significant widening (average 0.65 mm) between the neutral position and plantar flexion. Conclusion: When ankle joint injuries are studied on radiographs, the position of the foot must be taken into consideration.

The purpose of the article is to identify the characteristic features ofjazz jam sessions as creative and concert events. The research methods arebased on the use of a number of empirical approaches. The historicalmethod has characterized the periodization of the emergence andpopularity of jam session as an artistic phenomenon. The use of themethod of comparison of jazz jam sessions and jazz concert made itpossible to determine the characteristic features of jams. An appeal toaxiological research methods has identified the most strikingimprovisational solos of leading jazz artists. Of particular importance inthe context of the article are the methods of analysis and synthesis, observation and generalization. It is important to pay attention to the use ofa structural-functional scientific-research method that indicates theeffectiveness of technological and execution processes on jams. Scientificinnovation. The article is about discovering the peculiarities of the jamsession phenomenon and defining the role of interaction between theaudience of improviser listeners and musicians throughout the jams. Theprocesses of development of jazz concerts and improvisations at jamsessions are revealed. Conclusions. The scientific research providedconfirms the fact that system of interactions between musicians amongthemselves and the audience, as well as improvisation of the performers atthe jam sessions is immense and infinite. That is why modern jazz singersand the audience will always strive for its development and understanding. This way is worth starting with repeated listening to improvisation, in theimmediate presence of the jam sessions (both participant and listener).

Students in today’s mixed ability classrooms come from diverse backgrounds with needs. In such a scenario, differentiated instructions are of prime importance for teachers to deal with in mixed ability classrooms. The teaching experiences and academic life mould perceptions of teachers which effects their teaching style; therefore, it is important to know teachers’ beliefs and perceptions regarding teaching in a mixed ability classroom at middle school level so as to guide educators and heads inside and outside the institution. For this study, quantitative research method was used to explore and understand the beliefs and perceptions of the teachers of middle schools regarding implementing differentiated instructions. The sample size included 120 teachers who were sent a survey questionnaire through online Google form and was constructed by customizing the questionnaire from Ballone and Czerniak (2001). The analysis of quantitative inquiry revealed that there is a positive association between teachers’ beliefs about their intentions and stakeholders’ expectations to implement differentiated instruction. It was highlighted that all stakeholders wanted teachers to implement differentiated strategies; however, the teachers were found to be short of planning and instructional time for differentiation.
