Context: Biomimetics is a novel field of science that takes inspiration from nature and biological organisms to create and design forms. This knowledge can help improve the conditions of a building form. The form is the manifestation of architecture, and the initial insight into a form is figured out by observing its external shell. Therefore, the composition and the type of interactions of a shell with its surrounding forces determine the quality of this important element in construction. Evidence Acquisition: One of the most obvious patterns that have similar features with the outer shell of the building is the human skin, so the structural features of the skin can be used as a source of inspiration in production or improvement of the form’s outer shell. The skin is a vital and the widest living organ of the body. It is one of the most complex and active organs with such capabilities in transforming the human body as an efficient microclimate that can favor the situation of its internal organs and plays an important role in self-repair, energy absorption, and thermal insulation. Conclusions: In this study, we tried to use the structural features of the skin to provide suitable ideas for improving and upgrading the outer shell of the building form. Applying these capabilities in the structure of a building form would lead to the creation of a smart, usable, and expandable architecture with a favorable geometrical performance that will adapt to the surrounding environmental conditions, including climate, pressure, etc.

Micrococcus luteus is a representative of normal microflora of the human skin, which is commonly localized on open surfaces of the body. Dissemination of the agent with disease development is possible if intactness of the skin is impaired. Aim of the paper – to present a clinical case of septicemia caused by Micrococcus luteus.Results. A clinical case of septicemia, caused by Micrococcus luteus, in a 39-year-old patient treated in an inpatient department of Infectious Diseases Communal Clinical Hospital in Lviv. Conclusion. A presented clinical case demonstrates a severe course of septicemia caused by Micrococcus luteus with involvement of internal organs in the process, in particular, accompaniment of community-acquired left-sided pneumonia, exudative pleurisy, pericarditis, and meningitis. Although antibacterial therapy was prescribed to this patient on admission to an inpatient department, the result in treatment could be achieved only after thorough additional examination of the patient, conduction of proper bacteriological tests and determination of sensitivity of the agent to antibacterial medicines.

Three-cycle acupuncture is a new acupuncture practice. This application is an objective patient-oriented application instead of subjective methods used in diagnosing acupuncture. Thus, the diagnosis and treatment of acupuncture are enlightened and made easier. The proper flow and quality of Chi are fundamental to treatment and optimal health in Chinese medicine. In the body, the channels of energy known as meridians connect to the internal organs so that the qi of the organs flows to its associated body parts. In Chinese Traditional Medicine, energy flows through our 12 main meridians or energetic pathways, in two-hour blocks. Chi begins its daily flow in the Lungs and traverses to the Large Intestine before continuing to its next destination. It finally stops at the Liver, before it begins again. If the chi is blocked in a certain organ, it will not be able to completely activate that organ or continue its journey with enough intensity to fully benefit the next organ system. If we provide the flow of Chi in the pathological cycle, the cycle starts and the complaints disappear. With this acceptance, we introduced the concept of three-cycle acupuncture. Thus, we can only perform treatment without the need for another diagnosis method. We used the Yuan points of the organs belonging to the pathological cycle to remove the obstruction. The method was very effective and we got very good answers. We have been using the method in our polyclinics for five years.

The skin may be adversely affected by any serious medical illness, often as a secondary process related to infection, trauma, nutritional deficiencies, and other factors. Disease-specific skin involvement occurs commonly in some conditions, and is best characterized in cancer. Skin of the patient with advanced cancer is unique compared to other organs of the body. While the sequela of metastatic spread to internal organs often is replacement of normal tissue and resultant organ failure, widespread replacement of skin with a neoplasm is uncommon. Yet, even a local disruption of skin integrity can cause deterioration in the quality of life, debilitation, and even mortality. Other aspects of neoplastic disorders affecting the skin discussed in this chapter include accumulation of abnormally produced metabolites, adverse effects to treatment, and paraneoplastic syndromes. It is important to give dermatological aspects of disease their appropriate attention, because these can be the ones that may be dealt with efficiently and improve the patient’s quality of life.

Gluten protein functionality remains the basis of any understanding of the end-product quality of wheat flours. Information about this functionality has been obtained by both in vivo and in vitro studies. Recent advances include structure/function studies of deletion mutants and transformed genotypes, where the genes incorporated were both naturally occurring genes and genes which have been desired to provide specific structural features. The contributions of these specific changes in structure to the rheology of the resulting doughs allow insight into the underlying physical processes that determine dough and end-product properties.

Currently, regardless of the age and social affiliation of the population, periodontal disease is the most common. Despite the modern technologies used in dentistry, the issues of prevention and treatment in dentistry remain unresolved. Dentists are interested in the fact that periodontal diseases are inextricably linked with systemic disorders in the body, which are responsible for its physiological functions. And the effectiveness of treatment for periodontal diseases is affected by all the factors that lead to the pathological process, i.e. diseases of internal organs and periodontal diseases are inextricably linked. In this regard, the metabolism in the body of certain vitamins, in particular vitamin D, forces dentists to re-examine the effect of these vitamins on pathological factors that lead to pathologies of the oral cavity.Diseases that affect the duration and quality of life of the patient have the ability to spread widely, for example, cardiovascular diseases, tuberculosis, HIV infection, etc., and oral diseases, in particular, caries and pathologies, can be attributed to this category. periodontium.

The article highlights one of the ways to improve the design of the extruder body in order to increase the reliability and, at the same time, the quality of extrusion. The object of research is a single-worm extruder. One of the most problematic areas of the extruder is the body. The main disadvantage of the extruder is the wear of the body surfaces due to corrosion or abrasion and requires regular replacement. This is due to the abrasive properties of the polymers and, accordingly, due to the friction of the polymer material against the body and the worm, especially due to contamination in the recycled material. In various sources, the replacement of the extruder worm with a more advanced design is widely covered. And scientists do not pay enough attention to improving the body of the extruder, which indicates the relevance of this study. That is why the problem of increasing the reliability of the extruder body is completely unsolved and urgent. In the course of the study, we used an analysis of the structural features of the extruder body, a literature-patent review of existing methods for improving the body of a single-worm extruder to increase the reliability and, at the same time, the quality of extrusion. As a result of the literature and patent review, the option of improving the extruder body based on the prototype of the split body, which additionally contains an inner surface of steel ribbed plates, was selected. It was found that the ribbing of the plates on the inner surface of the body increases the wear resistance of the body and promotes more intensive advancement of the polymer used material to the extruder head. This is due to the fact that the proposed improved body of the extruder has a number of features: steel ribbed plates rigidly fixed inside it are installed with overlap of the parting line of the extruder body. This makes it possible to increase the wear resistance and, accordingly, the reliability of the extruder body and, additionally, the extrusion quality. Compared with the known one-piece structures of the extruder body, the design of the body is detachable with steel rigidly mounted ribbed plates on the inner surface, which will simplify maintenance during repairs and, at the same time, improve the quality of extrusion.

The development of new experimental techniques, such as cryo-electron spectroscopy, enables insight into the structural features inside cells. However, in specific cases, it is still not possible to get the cryo images. Therefore, the development of the scores for the evaluation of the quality of the constructed RNAs, similarly to the proteins, is a prerequisite for the investigation of the diseases caused by the organisms not well investigated. Here, we are providing a summary of the evaluation scores in use for the prediction of the quality of the constructed 3D models of the RNAs.

The term “Medical Gymnastics” is used to express the treatment of disease by movements. Ling, an officer in the Swedish Army, and the originator of this system, received his first inspiration on the subject by finding that fencing cured the lameness in his own arm. From this simple fact he was drawn on to think, why should not other affections be also cured by means of movements. So he went through a complete course of anatomy, physiology, and pathology, and gradually evolved the whole of his system, which embraces, not only medical, but also military and hygienic or educational gymnastics. The object of hygienic gymnastics is to preserve the balance of power in the body; that of medical gymnastics is to restore the balance when it has been disturbed by loss of proportion between the parts. The blood is the carrier of life and of disease. If the stream to any part be above or below the normal supply, disease is the result. Can the flow and the actual quality of the blood be regulated by gymnastics ? The experienced gymnast at once answers “Yes.” The very fact that the hands and feet become warm through exercise shows that the sluggish circulation has been quickened, and that more and fresh blood has been brought to them from some other part which has in consequence become poorer, perhaps to its own benefit. Ling, by his marvellously clear insight into anatomy and physiology, was able to think out and arrange movements for all parts of the body, by means of which the supply might be decreased or increased, or the nutritive quality improved, all according to the exigencies of the case. Nor is the control of the circulation the only weapon in the hand of the gymnast. By constant pressure the form and direction of the parts may be changed, and swellings caused by accumulation of matter may be reduced and absorbed.

An attempt is made briefly to outline the medical potentials of computed tomography. Examinations with this new and very promising X-ray technique are made without discomfort, pain or risks for the patient. The examination does not require highly trained personnel. It permits a number of pathological conditions to be reproduced directly in an image representing a transverse section of the body. Different soft tissues are visualized directly and the shape of internal organs can be accurately perceived. Opacifying media may be used to enhance the visibility of certain organs or tissues changed by pathological processes. Computed tomography might be used to make function tests of various organs where it will be possible to follow the function not only of the whole organ, but of each elementary volume of it. In radiation therapy, computed tomography offers a much higher precision in the planning of the radiation treatment of a tumour. From the tomogram a computer can readily find the optimal directions and intensities of the radiation in order to obtain the required effect on the tumour while sparing the healthy organs. This new technique will give us fresh insight into many common and serious disorders having unknown mechanisms and causes.

Estrogens are known for playing essential roles in the body. These hormones exert crucial protective actions when faced with neural damage. Numerous studies have provided a deep understanding of these unique actions that go far beyond the scope of reproduction and reproductive regulation. Through various mechanisms, delivery routes, dosage levels, and with the age and health status of the individuals receiving the treatment in mind, the hormone can be used in protecting against neural death. This review examines the discoveries that comprise the current body of knowledge regarding estrogen as a neuro-protector against cerebrovascular accidents (CVA, stroke) and neurodegenerative diseases. These findings have great implications for improving the quality of life in the aging population. They provide insight into the impact of hormones on the protection of neural tissues, and prompt discussion between members of the scientific community, ensuring that future clinical studies utilize methods that will maximize the quality of the obtained results.
