With the increase in plastic waste, recycling becomes an urgent necessity to reduce and revalue it. PVC is one of the most widely used types of plastic in the world, and indeed it is among the most recycled. The effect of recycling on PVC or any other type of material is to reduce these characteristics, which also depends on the method by which it is recycled. Finding a way to increase the recyclability number of PVC by improving the mechanical characteristics will be an addition at the level of scientific research as well as at the industrial level. The addition of a bio-loading in the form of cow horns, coconut or chicken feathers on the rigid and flexible PVC with an experimental study of the results obtained allow to deduce the most adequate bio-loaded material to improve the mechanical characteristics after recycling. The experiments carried out on rigid and flexible PVC demonstrated the evolutions brought to PVC with and without loading after recycling The results obtained showed an improvement in the mechanical properties of rigid and flexible PVC with a natural bio-loading with the three fibers of coconut, cow horns and chicken feathers which enhance the environment, are very light and can be collected. directly from the waste with a large amount.

Nowadays, pollution problem is very acute all over the world. Significant reduction of negative impact of pollutants on humans and the environment, as well as the improvement of a number of environmental and economic indicators can be ensured by the achievement by the countries of a proper level of development in the waste recycling issue. Within the framework of this article, the problems of plastic waste processing and the introduction of innovative solutions for their disposal and recycling are considered. The research aims to study the innovative ways of plastic waste recycling and assess the feasibility of their use in the textile industry. In the course of the study, the experience of introducing innovative environmentally-oriented technologies for plastic waste recycling was studied, the main approaches and strategies for introducing environmental innovations, as well as priority areas of environmentally oriented innovations in production, were considered. The main result of the study includes reasonable proposals for the implementation of plastic waste recycling technology in the production of textiles.

Abstract As part of the work, an experimental and theoretical study of the effect of adding wollastonite on the physical and mechanical characteristics of concrete was carried out. The internal stress was calculated according to Hooke’s law. The change in the specific volume was determined from the change in the volume of the hydrated phase. The calculation of the chemical interaction was carried out within the framework of thermodynamic equilibrium. According to the results of the work, it was shown that the addition of wollastonite leads to a linear decrease in the value of internal stresses, which is consistent with experimental results on the increase in compressive and bending strength.

This study presents the results of the first stage (scientific production analysis) of a Technological Surveillance and Competitive Intelligence exercise (TS&CI), carried out for the research of "the current alternatives for the recovery and valorization of ABS plastic waste around the world"; which was carried out with information from the specialized Scopus® database, with the guidance of TS&IC experts, from EAFIT University. It was found that the leading countries in scientific publications are China, the United States and Japan, three of the largest consumers of ABS resin in the world. The leading institution in publications is the prestigious Chalmers University of Technology, a research university that is in Sweden. Finally, it was found that 86% of the scientific production related to the subject of interest, occurs next to the year 1999, time after the environmental revolutions of the age and to the first “Earth day” in 1970.Keywords: acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene, ABS plastic waste, recycling, reuse, reutilization.

Weldability involves two aspects: welding behavior of components and safety in operation. The two aspects will be reduced to the mechanical characteristics of the elements and to the chemical composition. In the case of steel reinforcing rebar’s, it is reduces to the percentage of Cech(carbon equivalent) and to the mechanical characteristics: the yielding limit, the ultimate limit, and the elongations which after that represent the ductility class in which the re-bars is framed. The paper will present some types of steel reinforcing rebar’s with its mechanical characteristics and the welding behavior of those elements. In the current work, process-related behavior of welded reinforcement, joint local and global mechanical properties, and their correlation with behavior of normal reinforcement and also the mechanical performance resulted in this type of joints. Keywords: welding behavior, ultimate limit, reinforcing rebar’s

It is clear that construction and demolition wastes (CDW) are constantly increasing throughout the world and these wastes can be used effectively to minimize the consumption of natural resources in the manufacture of more sustainable concrete. The CDW occupy an important segment of world waste production and its generation reached approximately 3 billion tons in 2012 in 40 countries [1]. Although this topic has been studied in the world, it is still valid for the reuse of waste that is constantly increasing, and although in many countries there are already examples of its use this type of concrete in Colombia and in the Medellìn city lacks applications. This project proposes the application of a sustainable concrete made with CDW and coal ash in the Medellín city for its implementation in the construction of urban furniture. A university community diagnosis of the needs in terms of furnishing was made. With the design reached, a modular chair was proposed to enable spaces within the university. The mechanical characteristics of the concrete and the design of the chair are evaluated and a simulation is done through finite elements to evaluate the viability of the proposed concrete, finding that with these properties is possible to manufacture durable and sustainable furniture that serves as an example for the application of sustainable materials
