The chief challenge in elementary mathematics today is the gradual adjusting to the new methods and ideas while still retaining much that is traditional. My problem has been how to continue to use a textbook that is a moderately traditional one while moving into that teaching area that involves the new concepts in mathematics. After much frustrated planning, I remembered a famous cliché used by one of our old-time Supervisors of Schools. “You do not teach a text, you teach a child.” The next step was to move to the question of how to teach these children some of the necessary concepts inherent in the new mathematics program while concomitantly using the traditional text.

Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) has gone from being a simple laboratory curiosity to an indispensable tool in the industry to determine the level of quality achieved in its products. The new concepts of Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) bring a more universal concept of quality compared to the past philosophy based on Quality Control as a group specialized in checking whether production works within certain specifications. Even so, NDTs have not lost interest, but have seen their interest increased due to automated inspection techniques. It has become a contribution to the structuring of quality as it allows to move from purely empirical criteria to other more objective and that constitute the link between design and evaluation (Ramirez et al, 1996). The work presented, although it does not propose new methods or techniques of NDT, has the interest of converging into a single object five conventional methods each of which provides partial information about their quality of manufacture and must synthesize the results in order to evaluate it. Furthermore, it shows a situation of the application of NDT in which these must be applied in the absence of reference standards, as they do not exist. This peculiar situation is completely different from the usual situation in the use of NDT in the industry, both in manufacturing processes and in maintenance inspections.

The imperfection of theoretical and methodological approaches to regulate the jump process transition when combining differentiated energy resources is a pressing issue. The goal of this paper is to develop a theory and a method to regulate the integration-balancing processes of combining diversified resources. The concept of combining integration and balancing models has been substantiated by methods of transforming multidimensional space and approximating generalized functions that represent jump-like processes. Theoretical and operational-regulatory models of economic sustainability have been developed, substantiating new concepts, patterns, properties, dependencies and indicators of the dynamics of the processes of combination; the optimality conditions for the number of approximations of generalized functions, interpreting the effects of control functions of combining resources, are determined. New methods for solving problems have been developed: the organization of the energy technology complex of facilities for enhanced resource diversification and the Center for Sustainability, improving the quality of managing dynamic processes in terms of combining and diversifying resources.

The evolution of new concepts for sustainable planning and development of cities in the world and use these concepts and their practical application and success significantly especially in the developed countries and applied in some developing countries leads us to search for new mechanisms that could be used in Iraq and pave the way for sustainable development of the urban environment of cities.  The urban environment of the city of Karrada need rise include social, economic, urban, environmental, and this only by using new methods of management and planning are different from those that dealt with the city, focusing on the urban side only. And based on the nature and aesthetic achievement of the principles and objectives of the city of Wuxi, which represent the privacy of Baghdad and Iraq at large is not a simple process, but need to share all of the State, individuals and non-governmental organizations and the private sector.

Due to the development of electronic materials, it stimulates the autonomous abilities of learners.Along with the advance of multimedia technology and network technology, teaching based on information technology has been spread all over the world. It has brought about new concepts, new methods and new strategies for modern education and gradually changed learners’s learning ways. Therefore, it is one of essential issues how to develop students’ autonomous abilities of learners with the help of electronic materials.

Visual aids—films, still pictures, models, bulletin boards, and so on—are among the most useful tools in education, but they do not teach without intelligent planning and use (Glenn O. Blough and Albert J. Hugget, Elementary School Science and How to Teach It [New York: Dryden Press, 1957], pp. 33–34). Bulletin boards can play an important role in today's mathematics program. However, a bulletin board, if it is to be successful in achieving its purpose, must gain and be worthy of the class's attention.

The teaching of place value is one of the most important—and possibly the most interesting—parts of the elementary mathematics program. You can show the children how you get another name for the number seven if you count in fives. And children will better understand what happens when you go from nine to ten and from ninetynine to one hundred in the decimal system if you discuss different bases with them. I have used the following technique for teaching the binary system in grades four to six.

This paper presents the contribution of Offer Shai to mechanical engineering and design. Over a period of three decades Shai has created an impressive research program that is founded on solid mathematical grounds — combinatorial representations of systems. On this foundation he made contributions that ranged from inventing new concepts in mechanics (e.g., face force), new ways to characterize systems (e.g., singularity positions), new ways to create building blocks to model discrete systems (e.g., Assur graphs and their synthesis), and new methods in design (e.g., infused design). This paper summarizes some of these contributions in an attempt to describe the breadth and depth and attract researchers to continue develop his ideas.
